My daughter and I arrived mid June and had a wonderful 9 day stay in Paris. Close to the subway, batobus, and within easy walking distance to everything. Our landlady was most helpful and supplied a few basic groceries upon our arrival. Would love to come back and stay again.
I'm happy to add my five-star to the list of glowing reviews. I spent four weeks in Mme Miller's charming, cozy flat and I couldn't have been happier. At the edge of the 5th, the flat is off the beaten path of tourists but still very close to everything you want to visit in Paris. Metro and buses are both half a block away and RER C is a five minute walk, but I mostly used the three nearby Velib stations (the Paris bike-share) to get around.
The flat is bright, friendly, spacious and quiet. It had everything I hoped a Paris apartment would have - beautiful, creaky wood floors, a lovely view of the tree-lined street, and friendly neighbors. The windows are huge and lovely. The sun will greet you in the morning and cool air will waft through in the evening (even during the heatwave that hit Paris while I was there.)
Mme Miller provides all the conveniences - towels, pots and pans, dishes, wifi, laundry detergent, and dish soap. She had even stocked the small refrigerator with enough food for my first breakfast. Anything else you would need you can get at one of the many shops on the street.
Mme Miller is very knowledgeable about all things Parisian, so be sure to ask for her recommendations on things to see or places to eat.
You can believe the 5 star reviews of this light, well-appointed and comfortable apartment. Add to these amenitiies a knowledgeable, friendly property owner and you will be hard pressed to find a better place to stay in Paris.
While a bit off the regular tourist track, this apartment is conveniently located to Metro, bus and Seine boat transportation so no Paris destination is too far away--indeed even trains throughout France and Europe are nearby. Having spent a great deal of time in hotels in the arrondisements known for shopping and sightseeing, we appreciated getting to know completely different neighborhoods, shops and, of course, restaurants. Fara provides her guests with a very detailed guide to all transport options, recommendations on nearby restaurants, bakeries and markets, as well as thorough information regarding how to operate the phone and television. While we did not watch much television, it was great to be able to stay in touch with family at home (landline calls to most international destinations are free) and use the excellent wi-fi to plan our outings and secure reservations.
There are very good restaurants nearby, and they are reasonably priced. The kitchen provided much more in the way of knives, pots and pans, than we have ever encountered in a vacation rental. You know how you usually have to provide your own salt and pepper and rely on your swiss army knife? Not so at this location where you can easily cook a well balanced meal.
For those who enjoy walking, this is a great location from which to explore the Marais, the islands and the Latin Quarter as well as the 12th and 13th arrondisements. We were particularly pleased to discover the gardens and shops of Bercy and the beauty of the architecture at this part of the Seine, including the bridge linking this area to the stunning Biblioteheque Nationale de France.
We will not only be staying here again but will also highly recommend it to our friends.
Mme Miller's very comfortable and spacious studio apartment in the 5th Arrondissement was perfect for our 18 day stay in September in Paris. It is located on the third floor overlooking a tree-lined boulevard in a residential area, just outside of the crowded tourist areas of the Latin Quarter. Transportation to all of Paris was simple, as there is a Metro stop located a block away, as well as good bus connections. We especially liked walking to the pedestrian market street of the rue Mouffetard, a charming area where we could purchase all sorts of French food. Tall windows face south, letting in plenty of light, and there are windows also in the kitchen and bath.
Mme Miller was an excellent hostess, and made herself available to assist with anything we needed during our stay. Her delightful personality and devotion to making sure we had a good experience in Paris were a highlight of our visit. For this we were especially grateful, since we had never been to Paris or France, and did not speak much French. Knowing that we had her support, if needed, made our stay comfortable and relaxed.
The apartment had a number of amenities that made a difference for us. The large queen-sized bed was very comfortable. The free phone service allowed us to call home in the U.S. whenever we wished. The wifi internet connection was strong, and worked well. The cable television had plenty of English language stations (including BBC, CNN, CNBC, Sky news-Britain, etc.) The washing machine worked beautifully. The apartment was very well-stocked with everything we needed, and the shower, hair dryer, kitchen appliances, etc. were all in good working order.
All in all, this apartment exceeded our expectations. We highly recommend it to anyone interested in living like a “temporary local,” while experiencing the wonders of the magnificent city of Paris.
My wife and I stayed in Fara's apartment in April. We first discovered it last year and so totally enjoyed our stay that we booked it again and were definitely not disappointed. The apartment is exactly as described and more. The main room is filled with light and actually larger than it appears in the photos. Both the kitchen and bathroom are very well laid out and equipped. Fara is the best host, and delights in helping you truly enjoy Paris. She is eager to provide any assistance you may need. It is conveniently located but in a quiet, professional Parisian neighborhood away from the crowds but close to wherever you want to go. If you want an alternative to the hotel experience and to "stay like a temporary local" this apartment is perfect.
We were lucky enough to be in Paris during a spell of wonderful weather. The apartment was exactly what we needed. Clean, airy, comfortable and with free phone calls and wifi. The owner, Fara could not have been more helpful or welcoming, making sure that we had everything we needed. With help or advice only a phone call away, Mme Miller loves Paris and helped us to get the most from our visit.
I'm sure the apartment would have been just as comfortable in colder weather and is situated in a lovely residential block, only a few minutes walk from the Seine and all it's attractions, including the excellent Batobus. We made a great choice.
This apartment is situated in a residential area with good transport connections.
2 métro lines and 5 bus lines will take you very quickly to your office in Paris or to a nice Parisian spot during week-ends . The studio is very close to the Regional train line C (which croses Paris from east to west) and also at a one minute walk from the Seine, with its romantic bridges, its evening dance sessions in summer, and the river boats on which you can have a drink, and listen to music. During the day , the Seine shuttle 'batobus' will take you to Notre-Dame, the Orsay Museum, Saint Germain des Prés, the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre and the Champs Elysées. Close to the studio, you will discover the enchanting Botanical Garden, a lush green space and its tropical green houses. Close by, in the Rue Mouffetard, you will enjoy an open-air market, gourmet shops and small typical 'bistros'. Close to the Place d' Italie, you can discover the 'Butte aux Cailles' quarter, with its trendy restaurants and bars in a real village atmosphere.
In the building next door, there is a gym club which offers extremely reasonable rates.
Three bicycle stations are close by . They rent bicycles for a few Euros per day or hour.
