This superbly converted old, stone built barn with oak beams, is full of charm and character and set in extensive grounds with fantastic views, particularly from the delightful swimming pool and sun deck, over woods, open fields and countryside. Situated high in the beautiful hills of the department of the Lot, above the village of Concores.

Ideal for lovers of nature as the wildlife is prolific (binoculars are provided).

The property is extremely spacious with a magnificent lounge, large, homely kitchen / diner, large, sunny bedrooms and with the added facility of a wide mezzanine area with a double sofa bed, suitable as additional accommodation for 2 people / study / occasional 'quiet' area. The mezzanine is not suitable for very young children to sleep in.

Nestled in the pretty hamlet of Gouléme, the village of Concores is at the bottom of the hill (2kms) where you will find a bar, a small general store and a tennis court.

Accommodation: Ground Floor: An amazingly large lounge with tiled floors, oak beams, large open fireplace, comfortable sofas/chairs for relaxing, attractive built-in farmhouse cupboard.

Satellite TV, music centre, DVD player. DVD library, books and Wifi available.

3 sets of French doors making the lounge light and sunny.

Bedroom 1 with double bed, bedside tables, wardrobe, window with view to the garden and private swimming pool.

A few steps lead from lounge to:

Boiler room with washing machine and water softener.

Attractive bathroom with large shower cubicle, wash hand basin and WC.

Large, very homely and most attractive fully fitted kitchen/diner with oak dining table, chairs, wood burning stove, cupboard and drawer space. Obviously the hub of the house.

Stairs from kitchen diner lead to:

Very spacious mezzanine area containing a comfortable double sofa bed and can be used as a study area. Ideal for teenagers, older children.

Bathroom with bath, wash hand basin, shower cubicle and WC.

Bedroom 2 with 2 single beds, fitted cupboard/wardrobe

Bedroom 3, spacious room with king size bed, large wardrobe, chest of drawers bedside tables and views to back and front of the property.

Outside:: Large sunny terrace for al fresco dining

Private swimming pool situated a little away from the house for maximum sunshine with superb views across the surrounding countryside

Fantastic place for a family holiday

A beautifully converted old barn - spacious, comfortable, well equipped kitchen, wifi, lovely bedrooms and bathrooms, and a really lovely pool too. A great place to do nothing, but also very well placed for sightseeing and activities. We'll definitely consider returning and would recommend it to friends.

Fantastic family holiday house with pool

This is a beautifully converted old barn - spacious, comfortable, wifi, DVDs, lovely big swimming pool, very well equipped kitchen - the perfect place to come if you want to do nothing, but also a great base for sightseeing in the Lot and Dordogne. We had a fab time - can't recommend it too highly.

Peaceful & relaxing - a fantastic house

What can we say. We have been travelling to France for the last 10 years and would say this house is one of the best. From the moment you arrive, the setting and size of the property is awesome. The house is huge, and plenty large enough for our two families.

The location is excellent as well, only 30 minutes to Beynac and the Dordogne, and 40 minutes to Cahors, it really is well positioned for exploring the region.

The setting is so peaceful, and the wildlife abundant, we enjoyed several days just relaxing at the house, where the pool really comes into its own.

We had an excellent 2 weeks at Les Granges and would highly recommend the property.

A great plus was the booking process, Dee at Poolside Farmhouses & Cottages was extremely helpful throughout, highly recommended.

A wonderful property!

We have holidayed in France many times and have stayed in some beautiful properties. After reading the description and looking at the photographs of Les Granges we had very high expectations....we were not disappointed! The house was clean (always important) and beautifully presented. Its quiet location, spacious interior and wonderful pool was a delight to return to after a day's sightseeing. Dee from Poolside Farmhouses and Cottages was brilliant - nothing was too much trouble and she had a genuine desire to make our holiday special...and it was! We hope to return.

Les Granges - August 2009

This was our second family holiday in France with our three young boys and to be honest we were a little concerned that we could top the previous year. Les Granges however exceeded our expectations! The house is fabulous with really good quality furnishings and everything you need for family entertainment. The pool was an excellent size and secure which was a real necessity as our youngest can't swim but is still very inquisitive! The grounds of the house meant the boys could make full use of the garden games, tennis rackets, badminton , football and even the odd game of rugby! If you are looking for a family holiday where you can simply relax at the house and still keep the family happy then I would thoroughly recommend Les Granges - in fact we are going back again this year!

Beautiful converted Barn

Thank you very much for the stay. We all had a wonderful time. The pool was great, me and my cousin had a lot of fun.

We really enjoyed our holiday at this lovely house. We had 2 outings to the restaurant in Peyrilles - good food, excellent value and friendly service.
