This charming holiday cottage with private heated swimming pool is situated on the edge of a very pretty hamlet, St Medard, deep in the Lot countryside, in a haven of greenery and nestled in superb gardens where the cicadas sing.

Situated in the grounds of the owners own house, but apart from it, the cottage has its own parking area, is not overlooked and guests would be quite private. Ideally sleeping 4 guests with room for 2 further guests on a sofa bed.

Outside the peak summer weeks, the house can also be rented by just 2 guests - please contact us for prices.

The cottage is beautifully appointed with every attention to detail, comfortably furnished, extremely well equipped and ideally situated for exploring this wonderful region of France.

The owners are very happy to welcome you with a local aperitif.


Ground Floor:

Through the entrance gates, the property is approached via a staircase to the front door which opens into:

A comfortable lounge/dining area containing a sofa which can be opened out to a double bed for two extra guests, dining table and chairs and built in cupboards.

Spacious, sunny and well equipped fully fitted kitchen.

From the dining area there is a door leading to:

Double bedroom with built in cupboard and shelves

En suite bathroom with enclosed shower, wash basin and WC

From the lounge area a door leads to:

A very pleasant, sunny conservatory with sofa, table and chairs. Access to an outside, fenced, terrace area with wooden table, chairs and large sun umbrella.

Lower Ground Floor:

A double bedroom with twin beds

Shower room with shower cubicle, wash hand basin and WC.

Large storage cupboard.


Delightful gardens offering sun and shade.

The superb private heated swimming pool is a particular feature situated on a higher level from the cottage itself. It has an amazing cover, easy to use and which can be opened so that the pool is half roofed for cooler days and slides right back to make the pool completely open for those long, sunny days of summer. A dream holiday

We spent 2 weeks in the Mas de Tresse. We found the gite,which is beautifully situated,lived up to all our expectations.It was clean, practical,well equipped and the owners kind and helpful. The swimming pool carved out of the rock by the owner was superb. There is no shortage of places to visit and excellent restaurants to suit all purses. What more could one ask? Perfect holiday.

St Medard is a delightful hamlet where you will find a famous restaurant called Le Gindreau where one can eat on the terrace overlooking fantastic views ñ the food is exquisite, but expensive. A very perfect setting for that very special occasion.

The nearest village for general shopping is Catus which has a bustling, lively market every Tuesday and a large, pretty lake for boating and swimming. The medieval town of Cahors, situated on the river Lot, is only 15km away.

A non-refundable 30% deposit of total rental is required to reserve the booking. Final balance, together with a refundable damages deposit of £300 (375€), is payable 8 weeks before the holiday begins. Providing there is no serious damage to property, facilities or swimming pool, the damages deposit is returned 8 days after the end of the holiday.

The correct prices for this property are quoted in Euros and are for 4-6 guests staying in the house. Prices in GBP can be provided on request. Prices are also available for 2 people staying outside the peak summer weeks. Please enquire for further details.
