Why Michael McGreenery chose Alton
It doesn't get any better than the Alton Bay area. Lake Winnipesaukee is amazing and beautiful... and for the winter, Gunstock mountain is 15 minutes away.
What makes this House unique
A beautiful stone fireplace and high vaulted and beamed ceilings create a really cozy atmosphere. Enjoy the tranquil days and nights, sitting on the large sunny deck

Beautiful location, great little cabin, had plenty of room and everything we needed!
A great place to reconnect with family
The Treehouse cabin transports you back to a quieter time where WiFi and screens were sparse. We found ourselves playing board games, card games, reading and enjoying meals together. It was the perfect base camp for family hikes and swimming in the many nearby lakes. The kids (ages 12, 8 and 5) loved the upstairs loft and it was so nice to be able to bring our dog along. It would be fun to visit in the winter and enjoy the fireplace.
Had a wonderful time at the tree house. All 3 bedrooms are unique and nicely decorated. The pond is a short walk away we enjoyed swimming.
The only thing my kids missed was wifi! Lol
Tree House is Awesome
The tree house is cozy. The walk to Hills Pond was only 5 minutes away. We really enjoyed our stay. We can't wait for next year!
Loved this perfect dog friendly cabin in the woods. We were 3 adults and 1 dog and we had a great time.
Location- This cabin is perfectly located between a pond(1 min walk) and sunset lake (5 min walk), with access to beaches on both. We spent quite some time swimming in the pond and the lake. Lake winnipesaukee was 15 mins by drive and so was the Supermarket. The trail head to Mt Major is also 15 mins drive.
Cabin- Cabin is very clean and well maintained. It has a very warm and cozy feeling to it. There was grill to do BBQ, Books to read, Games to play, DVDs to watch movies. The kitchen was well stocked. All we had to get was stuff to BBQ :) There was a fire pit outside, which we didn't use, but can imagine it will be great to sit by in cooler weather. Our city dog enjoyed walking about in the front yard and hanging out at the deck. When we arrived, everything was as described in the posting.
Host- Mike is a great host. He always replied promptly to any messages we sent him before, during and after the stay. He suggested things we could do around and places to eat. We checked-in at the cabin late at night and the key was where Mike said it will be. Thanks for suggesting the Mt Major trail. Our dog and us loved hiking it and the views from the top were just breathtaking.
This was a very off the grid relaxing vacation. We had a great time and enjoyed our stay at the cabin. We feel we will be returning back to the cabin for more vacations. Thank you for sharing your wonderful "Tree House" with us!!
Private, cozy cabin in the woods!
What a great place, with all the amenities you need for a family getaway to beautiful NH! Owners were very responsive and accomodating, and we felt at home in their cabin in the woods:)
The cottage itself is a stone's throw from 5 beautiful private association beaches on Hills Pond and Sunset Lake. You are also minutes to Lake Winnipesaukee and all of it's attractions. Downtown Alton Bay has numerous restaurants from fine dining to local clam shack spots. The downtown is a quaint, picturesque New England setting. You are also close to the popular Weir's Beach, a breathtaking hike up Mt. Major, and Funspot for the kids.
