A custom redwood home inside and out on two acres of land just 4 miles from Sequoia National Park. The property is fully developed and maintained as a garden with it's own private riverside beach. Many trees provide a shaded park like setting. A year-round regulated water flow provides a steady flow of water right next to the house. The Middle Fork of the Kaweah River, visible from the house, flows through the property just 100 yards from the house. The river normally runs quite swift during the spring runoff from April through June dependent on Sierra winter snow but becomes quite nice for swimming later in the summer when the flow drops and water temperatures rise into the mid-high 70's. Optimum for 4 people with 6 people maximum. Wir sprechen auch Deutsch.
We are currently closed during the fall and winter season. The 2016 season will start in May 2016. Inquiries about 2016 bookings are welcome but we will not accept finalized bookings until spring 2016.
I am the grandson of the original property owner. My grandmother purchased the property and the garden was developed many years before the house was added. The garden is much the same as it was in the 50's except those little trees are now quite large. I am a kayaker on the Kaweah River since 1985 and author of The Kaweah River Page on the Internet.

This property has been in our family since 1950. The home was built in 1965 and is custom throughout. The architect was Robert F. Street of Aberdeen, WA. The property and home are a family treasure. The love of the fabulous Kaweah River can not be overstated.
Home constructed of clear redwood inside and out located on a quiet private drive. A unique year round water flow is immediately adjacent the house with significant flow during spring and summer. Numerous decks on all sides. The property has a well maintained garden with walking paths throughout. The sound of tumbling water is audible from inside the house. Quantities of sand in the garden lead to a large sandy beach area on the bank of the river. The property is considered by many as the premier riverfront property in all of the Three Rivers community.
We had a wonderful time here! This was a last minute trip for us and it was the best decision we made. The house was very comfortable and we felt completely at home here. Be sure to walk down a couple hundred yards to a sandy beach and a great swimming hole. Our kids played for hours there! We will definitely be back!! Justin and family San Diego, CA.
This villa and the gardens surrounding it are truly magical. The owner was such a marvelous host--any little question, issue, or comment got an immediate and thorough response. we felt well cared for while we were here. The house was immaculate, equipped with everything we needed from breakfast to bed time. And when the owner found out the hairdryer had been taken, there was a replacement quickly provided. The weather was hot when we were there--100 degrees but we managed fine with the HVAC running. And the little stream running under the deck, together with the river at the edge of the yard--just perfect!!

Ok, Ok. I am not a real guest, I am actually the property owner. I just tricked the VRBO system into thinking I am a real guest by booking my own property in early March (We are not even open yet for 2016 in March). Now I get to post a review as guest to my own property. Turns out the VRBO left hand does not know what its right hand is doing and any owner can easily trick the system to impersonate a real guest and write any review they want. Actually, this was all part of a full test of the ability to accept PayPal payments completely outside the VRBO system and save guests from paying all but 3 cents of the new 9% Expedia "Service Fee". The service fee bypass has been successfully verified including ability to refund payments to guests via PayPal business account should it be required. Kaweah Redwood Villa
We were looking for a resort to stay in while we toured Sequoia National Park. Fortunately for us, all the hotels were completely booked. We found the Redwood Villa. The house was spotless, beds were comfortable, the grounds resort like. Our kids loved swimming in the river after a day of hiking. The Park was a short drive from the house. This house would be a great get-a-way to unwind, with out going to the park. We highly recommend the house.
Just returned from a three-night stay at Kaweah Redwood Villa. We were looking for a home-base that would allow us to easily access the Sequoia National Park, and this is definitely the place. Based on the reviews, we expected it to be very nice, but it far exceeded our expectations. Stepping into the backyard is like stepping into your own private botanical garden. Whether you are swinging in the perfectly placed hammock or sitting under the big umbrella at the river's edge, you are surrounded by an amazing variety of gorgeous plants and trees coupled with perfectly manicured paths and a sandy beach. A stream that includes it's own little family of fish runs next to the home. You can admire the gardens from the home while sitting on the upstairs or downstairs decks or while looking out through the picture windows in the living room, kitchen, and upstairs bedroom. The interior is equally delightful, clean, and well organized. The rooms include a great combination of modern and immaculate vintage furniture, lighting, and decor. We had the pleasure of meeting the owners, Bill and Ingrid. They were able to offer us some helpful travel tips as well as an interesting bit of history about Kaweah Redwood Villa and Gardens and the Three Rivers area. They put a tremendous amount of love and care into this property, and it really shows. We enjoyed it so much, that we will be returning in a few weeks to celebrate a birthday. Can't wait!
The house and property are exactly as described ... probably even better. A great private setting right on the river. A short 3-4 mile drive to the southern entrance of Sequoia NP. The interior of the house is well equipped and very clean. We spent our days and even some evenings in the park - so didn't get much of a chance to actually enjoy the house and property. But one could easily spend their time at the house and feel that was the vacation destination. There is a very nice local swimming hole a couple hundred yards up the street from the house right in the river. That was a treat and a great way to cool off after a day of hiking. I highly recommend this location.
A beautiful family owned home built in the mid 60's that immediately takes you from your busy lives to a place of rest and recuperation. We had only 4 days there, but came back feeling totally relaxed and re enervated. After long walks in the park hitting all the main sites and some quieter back roads, we would sit by the river enjoying cocktails appreciating the serenity of the flowing Kaweah. After cocktails we would sit on the front porch and watch the sun set on the hills before us as we barbecued our evening dinner.. The property is large and very private and the house is well equipped for comfort and practicality. Bill and Ingrid are wonderful hosts and we will return in the future. Thanks guys for making this last minute trip a memorable one.
Four miles from the southern entrance to Sequoia National Park. World's largest tree is just a one hour drive. This is an incredible Sierra Nevada foothills location with rugged mountains rising in all directions.

Homeaway (including VRBO) was purchased by Expedia in Nov 2015 for $3.9B. In Feb 2016 Expedia added a "Service Fee" to all bookings completed through this online website, typically 6-8%. We are set up to offer an alternate payment method through our PayPal Business account outside the online booking system for you the traveler to avoid this needless fee. Of course, travelers can always use the online VRBO system for the entire booking and payment process and pay the "Service Fee" if they decide the benefits are worth the price. The online system will still be used to some extent regardless of rental payment outside the system since our guests need to purchase property damage protection, accept the rental agreement etc. to complete the booking. We will be glad to supply all the details if asked.
