We are animal lovers and have 3 dogs and 3 cats. They are very well behaved and enjoy having guests.
My husband and I have lived in Pedasi for 6 years. We came and never left! We bought our land after being here about 5 months. We started off slowing by building our storage shed and from there our house.
We love to fish and we've got our own panga which we can't wait to get back in the water now that our house is finished.
Our family also includes Fischer, Melvin and Maso, our 3 dogs. Fischer came with us from the states and Melvin and Maso were born here in Panama. They welcome you to bring along dogs too to enjoy the large, secured fenced in yard with them.
Christine: Skype xtine0311 purchased this house in 2012
We love the people here in Pedasi. The locals are so friendly and always willing to give you a hand. If they can't do something, they know someone who can.
We bought our property from a local family and loved it's locaton. We can walk to anything that we need and during some of the larger events like Carnivale, which is held in the park, we can return to our peaceful setting after a day of music, parades and parties.
We've tried to think of everything when we built this house. We've capture great views and breezes from all the windows. Everything is of the highest quality. After months of painstaking preparation we now have gorgeous wood ceilings and clay tile roofing. The home is so well insulated that we rarely use the air conditioning.
The patios were positioned for privacy while still capturing nice views.
The place was clean, lovely and spacious and very comfortable. We had everything we needed for our week stay there. Good dogs, sweet cats, great hosts.
If you are looking for a place in Pedasi you have found it. The accommodation has been outfitted with everything you will need and more. The king size bed (rare in Pedasi) was very comfortable. We used our own pillows but I take my own pillow everywhere. (neck issues).
The daily visits from the dogs and cats were a huge plus for us. We are animal lovers and enjoyed playing with them. There is a gate to keep the dogs out if you don't want them visiting you.
We had a car but walked into town a few times for groceries and dining. I don't see how you can visit Pedasi without a car. There is a lot to see but require a car. We did day trips in the car most days.
Christine and Wayne provided a lot of information on places to see and resturants to dine at.
We drove down from Panama but I would suggest flying into Chitre and driving from there. The 4.5 hour drive from Panama seems longer then 4.5 hours. You have to sit on the speed limit as there are a lot of police with radars.
If we go back to Pedasi this is where we will be staying.
If your ever in Pedasi, Panama I would definitely recommend staying with Wayne and Christine! From the moment we arrived at the airport it was like meeting old friends. They had cold beverages waiting for us as we stepped off the plane, to driving us into town to pick up groceries for our stay. The accommodations were everything you could need and if you needed anything Christine was sure to bring it over. We were a close 5 minute walk into town which was handy as we did not have our car rental for a few days. They provided a wealth of information in regards to beaches, things to do and site seeing attractions. They were even so gracious as to invite us to Los Sientos or the Andromeda Club to watch the Super Bowl with their friends and other Ex-Pats in the community. All of this coupled with their fur baby family, i.e. dogs/cats made our stay that much more enjoyable. We've already booked our stay for our next trip to Panama!
My wife and I recently spent four nights in Pedasi and stayed at this property. It was every thing we had expected and more. A very clean comfortable and roomy cottage with everything we needed for our stay. Christine and Wayne could not have been better hosts. They made numerous suggestions about what to do while we were there and went out of there way to set up a fishing excursion for us, and recommendations about where to eat and so on. It could not have been a better experience. If Pedasi is in your travel plans I would highly recommend this location. It is a great value for the money.
We stayed in this cute little attached apartment for two months, Aug-Sept 2015. We found it to be comfortable, furnished with everything needed for a long term stay. Satellite TV and internet were provided and adequate. Big windows allowed for a nice breeze most of the time and A/C was rarely used. The little patio provided a great place to have breakfast, check emails or Skype with folks back home as well as end the day with a refreshing drink or visit from our hosts. Though attached to the main house, privacy was always insured. Our hosts, Wayne and Christine, were always available for any questions we might have about the area or the country in general. They made us feel comfortable and welcome.
We did not have a vehicle but found it really wasn't needed unless wanting to shop in a larger city. The center of Pedasi, with its many restaurants, was all within walking distance, even the beach was only 3 miles from the house. Sometimes we walked, sometimes a taxi for $3.00 to our favorite beach, La Playa Toro.
We highly recommend this property, especially during the rainy season when all is in full bloom. Hummingbirds, butterflies and flowers galore enhance the yard. It was truly a home away from home and we hope to return again.
I spent 4 nights in the "yellow" house. It was very convenient for it's location and for the amenities offered. Located off the main road it is quiet and peaceful in the evening and nighttime. A nice breeze kept it pleasant when the a/c wasn't on.
The little patio area adjacent to the front door entrance is the perfect place to wind down from the day's activities, especially if there's a cigar and a cold beverage involved.
Kitchen is complete for bringing groceries. Nice to have the satellite tv to keep in touch with the real world (if that's your wish). The king-size bed was very comfy and a big "yay" for the pillows, they were perfect.
Lastly would be the large bathroom and shower area. Water pressure was perfect.
I would come back to this property many times over.
We have the perfect location within just a couple minutes walk into Central Pedasi where you will find several restuarants, mini markets, a larger super market, local watering holes, banks, clinic, pharmacy, spa, language school, gift shops and more. Yet we are off the beaten path just enough so that your stay will be peaceful and quiet except for the occasional cow moo-ing or a flock of parrots flying by.
One of our favorite beaches is Playa Arenal where you can catch a boat to bring you to Isla Iguana or hire a captain for a day of fishing. There are 2 restaurants there where you can enjoy a cold beverage and watch the fishermen bring in their daily catch.
Two other favorite beaches within a 20 minute bike ride are Playa el Toro and Playa la Garita. Great for boogie boarding. There is a bar/restaurant at Playa el Toro that looks out onto the ocean and has a pool that you can use for a small fee.
The roads to these beaches are popular with people out for a walk, run or bike ride.
If you have a car, you'll be able to explore many areas along the coast. One very popular beach is Playa Venao where several World Surfing Championships have been held. A couple of great restaurants and bars are also located here as well as a shop that rents all the equipment you need for a day at the beach.
Certainly fishing is one of the most popular things to do here and we'll be happy to help you arrange a day out on the water with one of several great captains.
Outside of town by about a 1/2 hour car ride is Las Tablas where you will find more shopping. Further, about an hour from Pedasi is Chitre. Chitre has a mall, several supermarkets and plenty of other shopping. But we find we can pretty find what we need here in Pedasi!
