Great for large groups
The house was great - warm, comfortable and with a well equipped kitchen - and the location beautiful. The only thing in the house that could have been better were the showers (hence the 4 stars instead of 5).
The Tarn Centre and the Rawthey Centre are located in the South Cumbria Fells (The Howgills), between the Market towns of Kirkby Stephen (7miles to the North) and Sedbergh (5 miles to the South), on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park.
Both properties are in a unique position situated on a hillside with views of the Uldale Valley to the East, Cautley Spout to the South West, Baugh Fell to the South and Wild Boar Fell to the North East.
It is in an idyllic location to explore the vast amount of hills and valleys in this beautiful, unspoiled and little discovered area.
The Centre is on the boundary of the Yorkshire Dales National Park.
The Lake District National Park with its wealth of mountain and lakeland scenery is also within easy driving distance (30-45 minutes).
