Charming cottage close to all amenities

  • 5 of 5

We have just returned from this charming cottage. Just a few minutes from the sea front with abundant restaurants and shops close by. I was quite concerned after I'd booked this at the lack of air conditioning but really it wasn't a problem . The cottage has plants strategically growing on all sides, has windows on all sides and with the couple of ceiling fans a pleasant breeze blew through despite it being August. And of course there wax the added bonus of the pool. It was plenty large enough for me and my husband to be in at the same time and have a decent swim albeit in a circle to maintain any momentum. It could probably accommodate two adults and two small children as could the cottage, but no more than this. Beautifully equipped, although please note no charcoal bbq allowed in Summer due to fire risk, which was a shame but there is a hot plate which could be used outside. The garden was a highlight. So well tended and stocked with gorgeous perfumed hibiscus, roses and herbs. The small holding had fruit, plums, lemons, physalis, figs and pears in abundance. Did I mention the grapes, tomatoes and apples! We helped ourselves and enjoyed our stay so much I highly recommend . By the way Maria and Pedro were very friendly and approachable they were available if we needed them but stayed discreetly away otherwise.

Relaxing break in a little slice of heaven!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I booked this cottage for a week in October as a babymoon. We had previously tried to book this cottage in 2011 but it was booked out for the dates we wanted we were delighted when we discovered it was available at late notice for October 2013!

We arrived into Palma on an evening flight from Dublin and made our way to Soller, where we were met by Maria and her lovely husband Pedro. We then followed them to the property in Port Soller! It was very dark when we arrived at the property but so quiet, and immediately we knew we had chosen well. Maria and Pedro gave us the guided tour, went through everything and told us if we needed anything they were just a phone call away! They also left us a lovely fresh bowl of fruit :-)

We woke the following morning to a beautiful sunny day and the most delightful well kept garden and pool. As we had no milk etc we headed out to get some groceries. The sea front and nearest shop is less then a 10 minute walk away which was just fantastic as I was almost 5 months pregnant! We spent practically the whole week relaxing in the cottage/reading books/swimming in the pool/watching the frogs in the little pond and taking the tram up to Soller! We really didn't feel the need to leave the cottage except in the evenings for a stroll around Port Soller and a meal or two!

The cottage was spotless, the kitchen well equipped. I really can't fault anything about our stay. It was just perfect!

As we had a late flight back to Dublin, Maria kindly allowed us to stay a few extra hours in the cottage as we were the last booking of the season, so we were thrilled to have some extra time in this little slice of heaven!

We certainly hope to return to this cottage in the future, and bring our new addition to Port Soller! Thank you Maria & Pedro for sharing your wonderful cottage with us x

P.s: If walking to the seafront keep an eye out for "Bullimoto" :-)

Relaxing Holiday

  • 5 of 5

This is probably our most relaxing holiday ever. The property is well equipped and very clean. The owners Maria and her husband were very helpful throughout our stay. The gardens really made it for us very private and not overlooked. We look forward to returning.

Hidden Gem

What an excellent little place.

Fancy your own little Secret Garden near the Beach ?

This is a lovely place to stay especially for a couple. It several minutes walk from a lovely sandy beach and maybe 10 minutes walk into a bustling little Port filled with plenty of excellent places to eat and drink. Can thoroughly recommend Cafe Balear, a small little family run place with great food and service at reasonable prices. Tapas in Albatross with a Sangria de Cava or a tall shandy ? If you fancy something a little swankier then treat yourself at The Ran De Mar. Seriously, lots of choice within a 10-15 walk of your front door, but also easy to stay in here and use the facilities to cook outside on a warm evening watching the bats or the frogs trying to grab dragonflies...

Great bakers abound and lots of little shops open late for all the essentials.

A must is the market in Soller town on a Saturday for great food of all descriptions. We walked along the hillside footpath ( lots of signage for walkers ) into the town of Soller but you can also walk down the main road which is well paved or hop the Picturesque tram from the port ( which stops right outside the house ) or get a bus from deeper inside the Port itself.

The owner Maria is lovely and speaks great English - much better than our mangled Spanish ! The Garden has great facilities for cooking with both coal and gas BBq fab comfy loungers and a pool that is much larger than it looks in the pictures here is a real treat to either cool down if you are baking yourself in the garden or have just been for a swim in the bay and want to refresh yourself !

Ooh and a truly surprising and fabulous shower :)

A lovely little Cottage with a great garden

  • 5 of 5

Myself and my girlfriend stayed here in Aug 2010 and fell in love with the place.

The cottage is situated close to the beach and is accessed through a secure gate in the car park used by beach users. The local restaurants are a few minutes walk away and the cottage is ideally placed for public transport. There is a tram and bus stop just off the car park. For those who may want a car hire, the car park is large and free to use.

The cottage itself is suited to a couple of guests but does have a 2nd bed above the kitchen to accommodate extra guests. The cottage is a traditional Mallorcan building and has a real charm about it. The cottage had everything we required for a self catering holiday and the kitchen was well equipped.

What really makes this cottage special is the lovely big garden that surrounds the property. It is very private and secure and has a huge variety of plants and wildlife. It has a pond with a dozen or so frogs who kept us entertained leaping for flies!! There are even grape vines growing above the terrace and Maria had left us a huge bowl of grapes to enjoy!

The pool is great for a cool down during the summer months but more suited for playing in than swimming. It is about 1.2m deep.

The owners take good care of this property and were very helpful throughout. I would recommend this cottage to people looking for a relaxing holiday in the charming resort of Puerto de Soller.

Such a wonderful property

  • 5 of 5

We have just returned from a wonderful holiday that this property. My family (2 adults and 2 children) were made to feel so welcome by the owners of this property on our arrival were were thrilled with the location and the facitilities provided in the villa.

The villa hidden behind the main car park in Porto Soller and it feels very rural and private yet it is about 3 mins to the beach, 2 mins from the tram stop and 2 mins from the nearest bar.

The gardens of the villa is breathtaking and there is a plethora of fruits including strawberries, grapes and lemons which we were encouraged to use. The swimming pool is fanstastic and safety has been considered with a removable board which covers the steps (my kids are 4 & 2). There are loads of areas to sit, inluding the patio, the swing seat and really comfy sunbeads. The patio is always in the shade which is great with kids.

Inside the villa it is small but we fitted in just fine. My kids slept in the main bedroom and my husband and I above the kitchen. In this bedroom there is a little window which lets in the most fantastic breeze.

The villa is equiped with everything you need including plastic crockery for the kids, a beach umbrella and the most fantastic BBQ.

Soller is gorgeous and has everything you need for a lovely holiday. The beach is lovely. The restaurants delicious (Try Albatros for fab music and Tapas) and the tram will take you to Soller which has a great market on a Saturday. (The bus stops on the car park as well which is only E1 rather than E4 for the tram).

Hope this review is helpful.

Only 3 km from this cottage , is the beautiful little town of Soller, with its magnificent carved stone buildings of the early twentieth century. Its Modernist style buildings among which is the recently opened museum ' Can Prunera' which always holds contemporary exhibitions. The Constitution square and all the centre city is a very interesting place to wander along the streets. Bars, restaurants, banks and all kinds of shops, will help you to spend a pleasant holiday. There is a tram, from 1.915, that crosses all the town and connects with Puerto de Soller among gardens and orange orchards. You have a tram-stop in both directions, at only a few metres away from the house, every 30 minutes.
