1 double bed flat with sofa bed to sleep 2/3 near Hyde Park

Self-contained flat situated on lower ground floor of large 1840 house listed of historic interest in beautiful private garden square in fashionable South Kensington in central London. 2 mins from Gloucester Road Underground station (three tube lines) and walking distance from many restaurants and boutiques in Chelsea (including the famous King's Road) and Kensington (10 mins from Kensington Palace and Gardens). Harrods and museums are less than 15 mins walk and Notting Hill is 20 mins walk. Small supermarkets just round the corner. Bus stop just two minutes away-frequent buses to parts of central London. Large sitting room with sofa-bed, TV and open-plan kitchen with double oven & washing machine, dishwasher, microwave and plenty of saucepans etc. Internet access. Newly refurbished bathroom with bath/shower over the bath. Please note there is a minimum of one

week except to fill a gap or at the last minute. . For 2 or 3 only. Price per week : £725 including laundry and final clean. No smoking. The flat is quite spacious and quiet, in a really good location. We would describe it as "homely" rather than "state of the art" but we are pleased to have many repeat guests. Please ask for any further details.

Location is wonderful!

There are a lot of positive reviews for this property and there's a reason for that. That reason is the location. It's a couple of hundred yards from the Gloucester Rd. tube station (Zone 1 - on the Piccadilly line which goes to/from Heathrow), multiple grocery stores, several restaurants, a couple of pubs, coffee name it. London is a lovely city and this neighborhood is fantastic.

The flat itself is fine. If you're in town as a tourist it's going to do you just fine. It has what you need in wifi, a comfortable bed, and a surprisingly ample space. There are some downsides to be sure. First, if you're tall you'll have some issues. I'm 6'4" and had to hunch over in the shower and hit my head on numerous doorways. The ceiling is exactly 6'4" in the bathroom. The bedroom is a bit weird in the fact that it's long and the bed blocks the door from opening all of the way. The furniture and the flat itself could use updating as well. All of that said the value is tremendous and I'd stay here again in a heartbeat.

The communication was always fast and the host allowed us an early check-in which really helped us enjoy our first day.

Excellent London base

A spacious semi-basement flat perfectly positioned in a quiet South Kensington garden square, just a couple of minutes from shops, cafes, pubs and Gloucester Road Underground station for easy access to central and south-west London. Spotless, comfortable, quiet - and notably well equipped. Loads of maps and guides - including the local volumes of Pevsner and the Survey of London. The bedroom gives on to the enclosed rear garden, so you can sleep with the window open. Prompt, clear, comprehensive information and a warm welcome from Jeannie, the owner, who lives upstairs. We would happily return.

Excellent value in this location

The host, Jeannie, takes care to let you know that this is not luxury accommodation and while that is the case I would say that it represents great value for money to have this much space in this location. You should have no concerns that this is a basement flat - the living area is light enough and the bedroom is both dark and very quiet, both pluses for sleeping surely! As is the comfy bed.

The shower is a bit of a challenge, difficult to balance between hot and cold and not particularly powerful - but that is the only minor negative for me.

Jeannie is very attentive and always eager to help. We had an issue with the hot water on the first day. Somehow she managed to get a plumber around in less than half an hour on a Friday night and all was resolved.

The location here is perfect with many eating and shopping places nearby and the Piccadilly line about 3 minutes walk away to whisk you into Central London or Heathrow.

Superb Location

We greatly enjoyed our stay in this cozy flat as first time visitors to the immense city of London. The hostess is friendly and readily available, the bed is comfy, the unit is clean and the kitchen is well appointed, though I will say the shower is a bit tricky. The location is the biggest plus with choices of grocery, other shops and restaurants within a block and the tube station and several nice museums and parks within an easy stroll.

A charming flat in the most convenient part of South Kensington.

We had a wonderful time in Hereford Square. SO CONVENIENT to Gloucester Road tube station, the buses, the museums on Cromwell Road. The 49 bus will take you to South Kensington Station or on down to Kings Road in Chelsea. From there the 11 bus will take you to Victoria Station, Westminster, and St. Paul's Cathedral.

So many nice restaurants close by: try Cafe Forum for breakfast and coffee; Wildwood is a chain but quite good; the Star of India on Old Brompton Road is upscale Indian and very good; Bumpkins just a couple of blocks away is great for Sunday roast.

The flat has everything you need, just move in and make yourself at home. Everything works, everything is modern. Even though it's a basement flat, the front room--sitting room, kitchen--is full of light from the window. The bedroom is quiet and roomy, plenty of storage and closet space. The bed is big and comfortable. Jeannie is a most gracious, kind, helpful host. We just fell in love with her, really. We will stay there again if at all possible.

Lovely stay in London!

We had a wonderful holiday in London, and our apartment was the perfect place for our week's stay. It was in an ideal location - the street is very quiet and the apartment faces a beautiful garden. But around the corner and one block away is a busy street with dozens of choices of diners, coffee shops, restaurants and pubs. We were also two short blocks from the tube station, and a large grocery store. The apartment is within walking distance of the Natural History Museum and the Victoria and Albert Museum, and a little farther down the street is Kensington Gardens.

The apartment is very English and has some quirks, but was very large for the two of us, and very clean and well equipped. Our biggest issue was getting the shower regulated, as the hot and cold water come from different sources, and there isn't much water pressure. If you don't expect a really modern apartment, but are looking for typical English charm, you will not be disappointed.

Jeannie, our hostess, was so nice and accommodating, and made sure that we had a pleasant stay. We took her advice on a couple of local restaurants that were very good. She also made sure that we had the best weather while we were in London. Thank you Jeannie!
