Email for long term rental arrangements. Just 30 miles from the Arch Rock Entrance to Yosemite National Park and close to many year-round activities throughout Mariposa County sits Quarry House;
a secluded getaway committed to providing a smoke-free and clean environment for Yosemite visitors to rest and relax in.
The homeowner chose the name Quarry House for the unique granite outcroppings on the property. The house is surrounded by Black Oaks, Manzanita, Pine Trees and visited daily by various bird species and deer. The granite rocks, the wildness of the yard and how it changes with the seasons is part of the appeal of Quarry House.
The inside of the home, with three spacious bedrooms and two full baths will comfortably accommodate up to 8 people. The open floor plan, connecting the fully stocked kitchen, dining area and entertainment corner, makes this an inviting space to gather with family and friends. There is great Wi-Fi, no cable TV, and a landline with local and long distance calling (U.S. only), as there is spotty cell reception in most of the area. The house is cooled by Air Conditioning. There are also fans provided for extra air circulation if desired.
Quarry House is a mere 7 miles from historic gold rush town of Mariposa, which offers an array of dining options, grocery stores, museums, wine tasting, antiquing and local boutiques. Enjoy the beautiful drive along highway 140 for easy access to the Merced River and Yosemite National Park.

As a long time resident of Mariposa County, I have greatly enjoyed living, playing and working in this beautiful mountain range. I spent many years in the backcountry of Yosemite constructing stone trails before going into the building trades. My experience as a stonemason and builder is what I have brought to Quarry House in order to elevate and express what this property has to offer. I spent time renovating the entire house, adding amenities and unique stone accents throughout the home to make it what it is today. I still stay there from time to time to continue working on sculptures and other art projects with the granite from the land. Quarry House was my home for many years. I decided to open it up as a vacation rental so that people could experience Yosemite from the comfort of a Sierra Foothills home. I hope you enjoy your stay at Quarry House!

Big house with deers in the garden !
All was perfect
I'm so happy you had the treat of a visit from the local deer family. I desire to have the cleanest rental in the area and our cleaner maintains that status as she is the very best at her tasks. I'm very glad you enjoyed your stay!
Total hit with my kids!
When we drove up to the Quarry House, my 17 year old daughter was thrilled and called it her dream home because of the beautiful setting and cute, quaint home nestled there. She went around taking no less than 100 pictures of the yard and house. My 6 year old son was equally pleased and immediately pretended that the fallen log in the backyard was a pirate ship and made his dad walk the plank. In other areas of the yard he was king of the rock. The yard is huge and is a perfect Adventureland for the kids. It would be hard to play soccer or volleyball since it has many granite boulders throughout but my kids loved it. Even my husband liked it because of the internet connection so he could get some work done in the evening. I loved the granite counters and clean wood floors. When asked if they’d rather spend the rest of the day at Yosemite or go back to the house, my kids all voted for the house! There were only three minor downsides to this property and two were out of their control. 1- hwy 49 was closed due to flooding which prevented us from even getting to the house the first night without a two hour detour. So we had to find a hotel since it was already really late. 2- cell phone coverage is spotty at best especially if you have AT&T but the owners let you use the landline, which we did. 3- there were a few ants in one cupboard in the kitchen and a miscellaneous one in the bathroom but I didn’t notice them overall as a problem since the place is kept clean. Again, nothing to deter us from recommending it to others. There are three spacious bedrooms and a good sized family room. The weather was pleasant so we didn’t try any heating or cooling equipment and can’t comment there, but we did find a tree to hang our hammock from for an hour or so to read in the shade. And if you have a stuffed lion like we did, there is a perfect rock in the yard to recreate a Lion King circle of life pose. Haha! Really cute place! Thanks John!
cozy and comfortable
We had a party of 6 and it was very comfortable.
Great place for the kids to run around!
Kids had so much fun running around. Nice to have so many amenities and dishes. Also close to the park and town.
So happy to read that you were please and the children had a great adventure. You are welcome stay at Quarry House again!
Nice getaway spot
The place was quiet and comfortable with a nice large kitchen. We enjoyed our stay. The only negatives, fairly minor, were generally poor lighting and a small bathroom to be shared by those staying in 2 of the bedrooms.
Thanks for writing a review. Turns out there were a couple of light bulbs burned out. We have since replaced them and also changed out a couple of the LED bulbs for incandescent as they a a bit brighter. We have also add Central air conditioning to Quarry House. Please stay again!
clean and quite
We had a wonderful stay. Loved the open concept and secluded location. We were greeted with deers upon our arrival and we spotted them often. Not far from Mariposa for groceries and other things you may need. About 45min drive into Yosemite Valley, but the drive is beautiful. The place was clean and well stocked on most things. It was hot, but the cooling system worked great for the shared space, and large fans were provided for the bedrooms. We were about 15 min late checking out and the cleaner had to wait 10min for us to leave, but we were still returned our deposit which was much appreciated. Thanks for a lovely stay! We would stay again in the future.
