Guestbook comments from the owner

Our family was very pleased to find that your cabin greatly exceeded the beautiful pictures and write-up we saw on-line. Our first visit was so awesome that we promised ourselves that we would come back next year. And that is exactly what we did! Our second stay was even better than the first because everyone knew what to expect. Now when we talk about next year our choice for our next vacation is unanimous- your cabin!!

Everyone loved the views from each side of the cabin. The kids enjoyed sitting upstairs so they could watch everyone down below from the large balcony. The women loved the large, modern country kitchen where they prepared our meals (but they still got us to go out to some of the great local restaurants you recommended!). The guys enjoyed keeping a large fire in the massive stone fireplace and watching sports on Direct TV.

Our time on the front porch was relaxing and rejuvenating. We enjoyed just taking in nature's sights, sounds and smells!

The only problem with writing a review like this is that other folks are going to discover our secret vacation spot! Oh well! As long as we can return when it is available, we will be glad to recommend it to others!!

Great Asheville/Mountains Getaway!

  • 5 of 5

It's a lot to expect out of a cabin to be situated in the quiet mountains, peacefully away from it all, but to also be just a short drive to all that downtown Asheville has to offer. This place was exactly that!

Highlights include:

- Owner was easy to contact but not intrusive

- Unique, artistic home design

- 25 - 30 minute drive to downtown Asheville ($35 Uber ride)

- Updated appliances and amenities

- Large lot with pond

- Amazing two-story porch with screened-in section and hot tub "cave"

Additional details:

- Gravel, fairly inclined access road to home. Certainly possible to drive a compact car up this road, but truck/van/SUV recommended.

- Neighboring homes. Not completely alone on a cliffside.

- One private bedroom sleeping arrangement, other beds are in shared bedrooms or just off the living room.

Amazing property!

  • 5 of 5

I visited this cabin with 10 friends for a 'guys weekend'-type getaway and it couldn't have been more perfect. The cabin has plenty of space, we had no problem comfortably sleeping 11 people. The kitchen is large and well-equipped, plus the dining area has a large table and is great for group meals, games, etc. The hot tub was very popular with our group!

We visited in late January and it snowed through most of our weekend, somewhere between 6-8 inches over a period of 36 hours. Note that due to the elevation, the climate here can be much colder than nearby places (like Asheville). The owners recommended we rent a 4-wheel-drive vehicle, which turned out to be a great suggestion for getting up and down the mountain in the snow. In warm months a standard vehicle would do fine. Asheville was a convenient 35 minute drive away.

If you're considering a family mountain getaway or meeting up with any type of large group, I highly recommend this place!

Excellent Property For The Money

  • 5 of 5

My friends and I thoroughly enjoyed our long weekend at this property during MLK weekend. It was very nice, but not over the top fancy. It was perfect for our crowd of late twenty to early thirty year olds. If you're thinking that the bedroom off of the garage is a little weird, it was actually the place to be as it has it's own fireplace and is right next to the hot tub. The trash situation is not most ideal, but we filled up our vehicles at the gas station at the bottom of the hill and they let us throw out our trash in their dumpster. Also, if you're thinking of going tubing, the place right off the interstate is better and cheaper than the ski resort tubing run. You will have plenty of firewood, as we kept at least one fire going the whole time during our 4 day weekend and hardly put a dent in the stack. I'm not sure how that would work in the summer time, I probably wouldn't want to pay $75 for unused firewood.

While browsing for rentals to stay this upcoming spring break, and fighting to remember my password, i was finally able to log on and review where we previously stayed and let me tell you guys it is nothing SHORT of perfection! Plenty of room and space. Kitchen was completely stocked with everything we needed. My family and I would LOVE to stay here again but our days are booked! The reviews does no justice, the place is breath-taking..from the ponds..scenery. Owners were very helpful and nice! Book! Book!

Great Cabin

  • 4 of 5

I came for a holiday getaway and the house was amazing, in particular the architecture and the layout of the house is what some would consider their dream house. Lots of room to spread out whether indoor or outdoor with two separate decks. Some local dogs from up the road came up to the gate a few times and they were friendly. The owner told me in advance of coming down that the stove and oven were rendered inoperable and I couldn't get any use of it; they claimed previous renters destroyed it and I believed her from the look of things. I fell ill for two separate days while I stayed and there may have been sick germs in the house from previous renters. I felt fine until I used the plates and glassware for meals and cocktails and I think I'm going to start washing everything before I use them when I rent. Regardless, I enjoyed my time at the cabin and it would be great for small groups or romantic getaways. There are similar houses closeby on a private road for the house and it seems the others may be rentals as well as it looked like different groups coming and going during my stay. The area is very family friendly with everything from skiing to trails and whole bunch of other things to explore. If you like the mountains, there's plenty of that. Definitely recommended, very friendly owners and they were so kind as to mail home some shirts and a sweater which I forgot about. No surprises about this property and you can rent with confidence.
