Our family was very pleased to find that your cabin greatly exceeded the beautiful pictures and write-up we saw on-line. Our first visit was so awesome that we promised ourselves that we would come back next year. And that is exactly what we did! Our second stay was even better than the first because everyone knew what to expect. Now when we talk about next year our choice for our next vacation is unanimous- your cabin!!
Everyone loved the views from each side of the cabin. The kids enjoyed sitting upstairs so they could watch everyone down below from the large balcony. The women loved the large, modern country kitchen where they prepared our meals (but they still got us to go out to some of the great local restaurants you recommended!). The guys enjoyed keeping a large fire in the massive stone fireplace and watching sports on Direct TV.
Our time on the front porch was relaxing and rejuvenating. We enjoyed just taking in nature's sights, sounds and smells!
The only problem with writing a review like this is that other folks are going to discover our secret vacation spot! Oh well! As long as we can return when it is available, we will be glad to recommend it to others!!
While browsing for rentals to stay this upcoming spring break, and fighting to remember my password, i was finally able to log on and review where we previously stayed and let me tell you guys it is nothing SHORT of perfection! Plenty of room and space. Kitchen was completely stocked with everything we needed. My family and I would LOVE to stay here again but our days are booked! The reviews does no justice, the place is breath-taking..from the ponds..scenery. Owners were very helpful and nice! Book! Book!
I came for a holiday getaway and the house was amazing, in particular the architecture and the layout of the house is what some would consider their dream house. Lots of room to spread out whether indoor or outdoor with two separate decks. Some local dogs from up the road came up to the gate a few times and they were friendly. The owner told me in advance of coming down that the stove and oven were rendered inoperable and I couldn't get any use of it; they claimed previous renters destroyed it and I believed her from the look of things. I fell ill for two separate days while I stayed and there may have been sick germs in the house from previous renters. I felt fine until I used the plates and glassware for meals and cocktails and I think I'm going to start washing everything before I use them when I rent. Regardless, I enjoyed my time at the cabin and it would be great for small groups or romantic getaways. There are similar houses closeby on a private road for the house and it seems the others may be rentals as well as it looked like different groups coming and going during my stay. The area is very family friendly with everything from skiing to trails and whole bunch of other things to explore. If you like the mountains, there's plenty of that. Definitely recommended, very friendly owners and they were so kind as to mail home some shirts and a sweater which I forgot about. No surprises about this property and you can rent with confidence.
I did enjoyed my stay here for my birthday but there were just a few things I feel could have made our stay just a little better. #1 first picture on the listing is not accurate. We were looking forward to taking photo's in the back of the house but the photo listed first on is no the back side of the property. However the rest of the photo's are accurate. The property was a little dusty and there were a lot of cobwebs but for the most part it was clean. There was an issue with Wasp's the first day but we called the owners and they directed us to use a bug spray around the outside perimeter of the doors which worked and we didn't see any the next day. Overall we had a great time the fire place was nice and the basement apartment was really nice. One other item to keep in mind if you decide to leave a day early (which we ended up doing) part of the instructions listed is to make sure you dump your trash at the trash receptacle. The place is closed on Sunday's and the local establishments will not let you use their dumpsters. We had to drive with the trash bags in the car until we got back into Charlotte NC.
We were only able to stay for a long weekend, but we loved the setting and location of the cabin. It felt remote, but was within easy driving distance of the main highway. We were able to make a day trip into Ashville very easily. The cabin was well appointed and really is big enough to sleep 15. We did have one small issue with a fuse blowing, but the owner was quick to send someone over to fix it for us. Other than that, it was a great choice for our getaway weekend.
We had a great time. The cabin was fully stocked and decorated really neat.
I had 10 people that were coming with us to Asheville for a birthday weekend and I was a bit overwhelmed trying to find the perfect place to say the least. Oh my gosh, this house was beyond anything that I'd of ever imagined! Ive traveled all over the world and definitely top 5 homes! They literally have everything you'd need. I brought a lot of stuff with me assuming that there was going to be stuff that they wouldn't have and I was completely wrong, they had everything! Everyone had an amazing time and were already planning a time we can all go back very soon! Jeanine, the owner was beyond awesome and had unbelievable communication the entire time, though we had no issues at all. We were only 25 min (beautiful drive) from Asheville. We followed all house rules and quickly received our security deposit. Thank you Jeanine for an amazing stay!! Your home was beyond anything :)
