Guestbook comments from the owner

Our family was very pleased to find that your cabin greatly exceeded the beautiful pictures and write-up we saw on-line. Our first visit was so awesome that we promised ourselves that we would come back next year. And that is exactly what we did! Our second stay was even better than the first because everyone knew what to expect. Now when we talk about next year our choice for our next vacation is unanimous- your cabin!!

Everyone loved the views from each side of the cabin. The kids enjoyed sitting upstairs so they could watch everyone down below from the large balcony. The women loved the large, modern country kitchen where they prepared our meals (but they still got us to go out to some of the great local restaurants you recommended!). The guys enjoyed keeping a large fire in the massive stone fireplace and watching sports on Direct TV.

Our time on the front porch was relaxing and rejuvenating. We enjoyed just taking in nature's sights, sounds and smells!

The only problem with writing a review like this is that other folks are going to discover our secret vacation spot! Oh well! As long as we can return when it is available, we will be glad to recommend it to others!!

Property was awesome!

  • 5 of 5

It was the perfect place for my family of 15 (sons & grandchildren) to have a reunion! We loved the sound of running water and the beautiful view of the mountains! We were able to eat our meals together and enjoy being under the same roof! The weather was gorgeous! It was nice to have the fireplace or to relax on the back porch! There were plenty of places to see and activities to experience that were not too far away, but my wife & I mostly just enjoyed the comforts of the Lodge!

The cabin was big but laid out really weird.

  • 2 of 5

Property was fine. The fish pond was a murky pond with two koi fish. The bathrooms were all put together with cheap materials and terrible craftsmanship. Weird. The hot tub didn't work for three of the four days we were there. And, worst of all, the owners showed up during my relaxing vacation to show the cabin to other possible renters. That was pretty trashy. It made myself and the other guests pretty uncomfortable. BEWARE. There is a $75.00 wood fee whether you use it or not. And a $75.00 hot tub fee whether it works or not. So, don't plan on chilling here.

Beautiful and spacious!

  • 5 of 5

This house was just about PERFECT for my family reunion of 25! We are flexible and casual and brought three air mattresses for the extra people. Everyone was happy and comfortable. The only things I will mention here are that the refrigerator never got to temp... which was a bit of a struggle as I am a professional chef and had many meals planned and prepped.. and the driveway was remarkably difficult to get up! With a four wheel drive vehicle it would be no problem.

Prior to renting the home, I read several negative reviews concerning poor communication about returning the security deposit. I figured the fee into the cost of the house which in my case was split by 25 people and therefor worth it. We also left the garbage and recycling for housekeeping. I'd be advised not to expect it back!

Great property, beautiful location, had a blast )

Stayed here for three nights for a bachelor party. The house itself is beautiful and wonderfully decorated. The kitchen and entire house was equipped for anything we needed. The outdoor swinging bed was perfect and everyone found a cozy spot to sleep. The hot tub was a hot spot and everyone also enjoyed the rocking chairs on the porch. Not a whole lot around the property, but that feeling of detachment was what brought us to the mountains. We plan to return with our spouses for another trip in the fall.

Spacious and Convenient

  • 5 of 5

I rented this space with 10 of my girlfriends for a low key bachelorette weekend. We split our time between Downtown Asheville and the cabin. The drive downtown was a breeze and it was in such a convenient location, giving both that city and country feel to our trip.

The Cabin itself was perfect for our 3 night get-away. Plenty of room to accommodate everyone and we definitely utilized the kitchen and hot tub.

It was a great trip and I look forward to going back.

Wonderful stay!

  • 3 of 5

We had a great stay! The house is very accommodating, the only thing it's not listed is that the 3rd bedroom is downstairs literally in the garage with the a living room that has the 2 beds. Also, beware that the owner does not refund the deposit!!!! Contacted her many times through emails and voicemail's no returns.
