About Matthew Orton

We originally came to Asheville on vacation and quickly fell in love with the mountains, waterfalls, exquisite food scene and friendly people. We’re really easy going and down to earth and enjoy the simple pleasures in life. We both love to travel, hike, bike and explore. Lulu is from Ecuador and is a leather artisan and dance instructor. She also enjoys putting raspberries on her fingers and eating them one by one. Matt is originally from California and when he’s not working in real estate, he sings very bad renditions of 8o’s songs, even outside of the shower. Our 5 pound Yorkie named Matilda firmly believes she’s a human and can generally be seen in Lulu’s arms with her tongue sticking out. We’re here to help and hope you enjoy your time in Asheville.

A great find in Asheville

  • 5 of 5

Pleased to find this property. All aspects were excellent. Hosts were very friendly and helpful, great coffee and complimentary local beer selection. Design and decor were excellent. Very nice touches in the apartment, clean modern and well appointed. I think this neighborhood is one of the best for an Asheville visit. You can walk downtown in 15 minutes. But you don't need to leave area for great food. Street parking, but area felt secure. It is nice to be able to sit outside and this apt. has a wonderful deck.

Our host was very nice and easy to work with... Lulu contacted us before we arrived to make sure that she was there to greet us, she also gave great tips on all things Asheville... it was perfect! We'll be back! Thanks Matthew, Lulu and Matilda!

Beautiful, comfortable and convenient home away from home!

  • 5 of 5

We loved staying at Matthew and Lulu’s place! We could not have found a better spot to serve as our home base as we explored Asheville and the surrounding area. Very spacious, everything we could have needed, comfortable, spotless, great hosts, super convenient location...

We would stay here again in a heartbeat and recommend it to anyone headed to Asheville...even though it means it will likely be booked when we want it next! 😀?

On top of all that, Lulu bailed us out after we made a semi-critical error in our reservation, for which we’ll always be grateful (and embarrassed)!

Thanks for an amazing stay!!

Comfortable, close to downtown

  • 5 of 5

We had a very enjoyable experience, it was clean and well appointed. The owners were friendly, responsive, and helpful. Only a twenty minute walk to downtown. The only thing we could've asked for were a couple more bath towels; but no big deal, two were provided. I'm sure if we had asked more would've been provided. We will definitely stay again next time we are in Asheville.

Charming home full of artistic decor to remind you exactly where you are...In the Heart of ASHVILLE!

  • 5 of 5

Thank you Matt and LuLu for our wonderful and memorable stay in your very

beautiful home. From the moment we arrived you were there to greet us and show us around. You truly made us feel welcome and were hospitable throughout our entire stay, checking in on us occasionally and making sure we had everything we needed.

We loved our little welcome package and card, so very thoughtful :) Thank you!!!!!!!!

The apartment is very quiet with its own private entrance located in the back of home with a private back porch and two very comfy loungers facing a hill where we watched the ground hogs play and listened to the sound of nature while sipping on wine :)

You really have thought of everything...details showing us how to use cooker, small subtle labels showing us fan, switches, lights, bathroom details, trash details etc..

Loved the Keurig with endless coffee and creamer choices!

Plenty of towels, toiletries, blankets etc..

Internet not required as there are so many brochures, books and magazines to choose from which we personally prefer, however yes of course internet is available!!

The Tv, not that we watched much just a bit of news, however yet again everything from Roku, Netfix, Hulu, list goes on...

The furniture throughout is beautiful and very comfortable to lounge around. Bed is super comfy, lovely to crawl into after a day of adventures and yet hard to get of in the morning!!

Location... Location...Location...our first trip into Ashville we thought we would drive, LOL we were there in 2 minutes, we looked at each other and thought idiots why didn't we just walk!!! Its so close, driving seemed so ridicules! Ok so maybe if your downtown and had a few too many in one the many Breweries to choose from, and the walk seems more like a wobble?! it might take you 15-20 mins. Take an Uber!!

So overall, we had an absolutely amazing time in your fabulous home and adventurous town full of great artists, musicians, breweries and restaurants of Ashville. We truly have no complaints, making this a 5 star accommodation in our opinion!

Thank You, Thank You.... cant wait to return!!!!!

Matthew is a very accommodating and gracious host. Site is in a quiet neighborhood. Asheville is an especially nice location if interested in hiking and outdoor activities. Also, good food. However, parking is at a premium.
