The Hale Le'a Le'a, which in Hawaiian means the “HOUSE OF GREAT PLEASURE”, resides beach front on the famous shoreline of North Shore Oahu.
Just steps to the beach and you'll be digging your toes in the sand and hopefully see a Honu or two, (our resident Hawaiian green sea turtles), bobbing in the the ocean. Our beach is serene and semi private, but if you prefer we are also close to all the world renowned North Shore beaches, such as Ali'i Beach, Chuns, Lonis, Waiamea Bay, Banzai Pipeline and Sunset beach.
Waialua is a wonderful and very centralized location. Just 2 miles to historic Haleiwa town. There you will find many unique boutique and surf shops. There is a wide array of restaurants, ranging from fresh local seafood, Thai food, Mexican food, “Kua Aina” for burgers and sandwiches, the food trucks that specialize in shrimp plates and don't forget Matsumoto's for a shaved ice.
The activities available are endless, from Scuba dives, deep sea fishing, Shark adventure tours, whale watching (seasonal), or rent surf boards, paddle boards, jet skis, kayaks or snorkel gear.
And a short drive to Dillingham Airport offers skydives, ultra light flight tours and glider rides. Mokuleia Beach, the Polo fields, horseback riding and Kaena Point are also nearby. And don't forget the Dole Pineapple Plantation, Waimea falls, the Polynesian Cultural Center and Turtle Bay.
Easy day trips to Pearl Harbor Memorial, Diamond Head Crater, Waikiki, Makapu'u Lighthouse, and shopping at the swap meet at Aloha Stadium.
And of coarse remember to just relax at Hale Le'a Le'a, the “HOUSE OF GREAT PLEASURE”. Listen to the sound of the surf and the trade winds blowing through the coconut palms with a Mai Tai in hand at sunset.
Denis and Lorraine, live on the property and had our wedding here in 2005.

Being Beach Front and watching the beautiful sunsets.
There is nothing better than being beach front. The sound of the surf, the cool trade wind breeze, the Hawaiian sea turtles out front, and of coarse the sunsets!
The view and location was all that was promised. We knew there was no air conditioning going in, but the need for all the fans to be on at night for us to be able to sleep, drowned out the sounds of the ocean. The bed was comfortable and the shower pressure was good.
Our main complaint was the condition of the appliances. The fridge was so moldy that I hesitated to even keep bottled water in it. There were no (easily found) outlets in the kitchen area, so toast had to be made with the toaster on the floor. I balanced the coffee maker on the edge of the sink for that outlet. ( It might also be helpful in the description of the property, mention should be made that there is no stove! It should not be left to reading the reviews to find that out). With some internal and MUCH NEEDED improvements, the place would be perfect.
Great location if you like to get away from the Honolulu scene. Kitchen is barely a kitchen w only a hot plate and electric skillet but combined w charcoal grill it was ok. This is perfect for a couple and I'd say to small for any size family. Although there were renters above us, we never felt like we were sharing the place and never heard them. You are literally steps from the beach and surf of the North Shore. Wonderful morning n evening walks on the nearly deserted beach! Wished the gas tiki lamps worked but otherwise the place was spotless and wonderful. A great romantic getaway for us at the end of June
My husband & I enjoyed 3 wonderful nights at this rental property & could not have been more pleased! This is the perfect place to get away if crowded touristy areas are not your cup of tea. The fantastic little neighborhood is nestled only a 5 minute drive from the charming north shore town of Haleiwa, but offers a level of seclusion from the crowds that we didn't experience anywhere else on O'ahu. Our backyard was basically a private beach which we enjoyed at great length. Whether it was sipping our morning coffee on the lanai watching the waves, or having drinks in the sand while we watched the sunset, this place offered exactly the Hawaiian vacation experience that we had hoped for! We could hear the waves all night long, and even watch the water while having breakfast in bed!
We were especially delighted to watch the sea turtles appearing frequently out in the reef as they came to the surface for air every few minutes. And we were also treated to watching 2 monk seals nap in the sand right outside our gate!
It was also a very short drive to some fun attractions like Green World Coffee Farm and the Dole Plantation. Opal Thai is the local restaurant NOT TO MISS! The nearby Ka'ena Point Trail is a beautiful hike or run if you make it around the northwest corner to the beautiful rails-to-trails portion of the trek. And a 30 minute drive over to Turtle Bay offered a fantastic snorkeling opportunity, despite the fact that the large winter waves made snorkeling difficult along the rest of the north shore during our visit.
This place is a gem! Clean, comfortable, beautiful, and Dennis was a great host. Don't miss it!
Had a very positive experience staying here. Communication was prompt every time I contacted them leading up to our stay.
The apartment is in a house in a very run-down, shabby neighborhood. Maybe this is typical of Oahu and of the North Shore. Parking is on the street where you can find room. The unit itself is old & worn, but everything was clean and worked fine. The ocean was literally right outside the yard; you hear the roar of waves while you sleep. The bed is very soft. No problem having no AC, as the winds blow through if you open the shutters. Huge waves made it impossible for us to enjoy the beach/water while we were there, but snorkel gear and towels are provided for that time of year.
It was a great location for exploring the island if you want to be away from the crowds in Honolulu. We drove to Pearl Harbor in about 40 minutes. We drove all over the island and had no problems doing this. Great place to explore the North and East shores from. No restaurants within walking distance, but it is a short drive to Haleiwa which has lots of restaurants. (Sidebar: if you like Thai food you must try Rajanee Thai in Haleiwa--delicious Thai food! Also heard good things about Opal Thai but it wasn't open while we were there. Cafe Haleiwa is GREAT for breakfast food.)
This is a large efficiency, bigger than you would gather from the pictures, actually spacious. It faces the water, with just a few steps to the beach. The beach is walkable and we saw turtles near the shore. The accommodations are basic, as in beachy, which is what you may want as a getaway from a motel/hotel scenario. Very relaxing. The host is very friendly, and lives upstairs, and will offer suggestions about the area. It is well-located and offers close proximity to marvelous surfing areas. We would stay there again.
We loved our stay here. The beach is so pretty and just steps away! Perfect amount of space for my husband and I. Everything we needed was there. And the town is right there with great restaurants, food trucks and shopping. Exactly what we wanted! Thank you for sharing this special place!
