Across the street from Pegleg Pete's Restaurant, and about 1 mile from the Pensacola Beach fishing pier, this condo has quick access to the heart of Pensacola Beach. Fully equipped with king-size bedroom, kitchen with oven/stove, refrigerator, dishwasher, coffeemaker, and microwave, washer-dryer, cable TV, wireless internet, and central heat & air. Living area has two queen-size sofa sleepers and counter bar with bar stools. Condo has both stairs and elevator. I grew up here, and my wife is from New Orleans. We currently live in Gulf Breeze with our daughter. I spent many years surfing, fishing, and boating on the local waters here, and I love this place more than anyplace in the world.

Why William Campbell chose Florida Panhandle

This condo was owned by my mother, who was originally from Valley, Alabama, and moved here with my father when I was only 1 year old. She loved to spend time on the Gulf of Mexico, and often told me that 'there is no place on earth that looks like this beach.' I inherited it when I lost her, and I've been renting it ever since.

What makes this condo unique

This property is close enough to the center of activity on the island to be practical for the visitor, and yet removed just enough to offer privacy. It gives the visitor the best of all worlds. And there's a great seafood restaurant and bar right across the street, as well as a convenience store. If you walk down the beach to the east, you will quickly come to the center of activity. And if you walk to the west, you will further remove yourself from that activity. It is a family-oriented setting, and is not for those looking for a loud party. It is more for those looking for a quiet family getaway.

Fantastic Condo Steps from the Gulf!

Everything about this vacation rental and our experience while at this condo was exceptional. The condo is well appointed, beyond our expectations, perfectly located on the Gulf yet far enough from the center of Pensacola Beach to be quiet with an uncrowded beach. The unit was very clean and most comfortable with a beautiful view of the Gulf from the balcony (great place for coffee in the morning or a romantic drink in the evening). The appliances were all new, and the unit has been freshly painted and redecorated. The king-size bed is MOST comfortable. The owner was helpful in every way from making the reservation to check-out. The full-time residents in this small complex were very friendly and helpful, telling us of great places to eat and sightsee. Across the street from the complex was a well appointed convenience store and one of the best restaurants on the island. We definitely plan to return and make this rental our vacation home away from home each year that we are able. Lastly, after much research prior to making this rental, we found it to be the best value for a one bedroom rental (although it also has two sleeper couches in the living room) in Pensacola Beach on VRBO. We recommend this VRBO most highly!

Absolutely wonderful!

The condo was more than we could've asked for. Location was amazing and literally right on the beach. All communication with the owner was quick and very helpful. I hope to be able to stay there again, sooner than later!

Construction on Beach no acess

Didn't want to leave a bad review. Just a lot of unfortunate events that the owner did not have control of. We only had access to the beach the first day. They were dredging and pumping new sand on the beach so it was a construction zone. Couldn't even enjoy the sounds of the waves with all the heavy equipment sounds. Not sure why they picked peak time (high priced peak time) to do construction. Should have been done in off season when prices are cheaper. We put sheets on the sofa to sit on. Unfortunately guests do not respect other's properties and the sofas were severely soiled. The place was well cleaned by the cleaning staff. We arrived a little earlier to beat the bad weather than never arrive. The cleaning staff were wonderful. They went out of their way to accommodate us and they didn't have to. Like I said we were a little early. It's just the abuse from other guests that made it not so nice. Suggest investing in sofa covering. Pillows had blood stains on them so fortunately I brought my own pillow. Didn't notice until we striped the sheets when we left that the mattress pad was also very stained. Probably would have not slept on it had I seen it earlier. Pad was clean but badly stained. If you have a dog that is not cat friendly then this is not the place. Also there really isn't any grass area to walk the dog on. Just sand. I took the risk of crossing the road to the grass area of another condo. Yes, of course I cleaned up. There are several feral that the neighbors take care of and they enjoy the balconies of guests. Needless to say my dog was not pet friendly. Without construction the location would have been fantastic as well as the view. Convenient to have an elevator. Hated to leave a not so great review. I'm sure had the circumstance been different (no construction) we would have enjoyed it much more and could have overlooked the wear and tear on the place. Tried to send this in a private message through VRBO to the owner but couldn't get it through. Didn't really want to write a bad review but this was the only way to relay the info. Have photos of construction and no access to the beach if you need it.

Owner's Response: A review is supposed to be a review of this condo, and not a review of the tenant's entire vacation experience. Unfortunately, I cannot control things like construction equipment on Pensacola Beach, and occasionally sand replacement does need to occur. As far as the sofa sleeper slipcovers, I actually just replaced them with Sunbrella fabric slips, but this was the tenant right before the replacement happened. The majority of this review dealt with Pensacola Beach sand replacement and the construction equipment required to perform it, and I do not think it is fair to hold my condo responsible for this. Also, the tenant claims they "did not want to leave a bad review, and they tried to contact me directly, but couldn't get it to go through", but I find this very hard to believe. I'm not that difficult to get a hold of. Bill

The best vacation ever !!!

We stayed for 7 nights and it was wonderful the best location I have ever stayed on the beach.The trolley was great !! We will be staying again at William's condo.
