Emigrant Chateau / Country House Rental Photos and Description

4+bdr 4 bath Custom Mountain Home on 24 acres, Just North of Yellowstone Park

This 5,000 square foot craftsman built lodge is too expansive to fit into so few pictures. To see more, view our youtube video.

This one-of-a-kind, very spacious 2 story ~ 4+ bedroom, 4.5 bath, custom home boasts huge radiating wood-beamed vaulted ceilings throughout (aptly called the SunHouse). Granite and Yellowstone River-rock throughout, giant custom stone fireplace and wrap-around walls of windows in every room with gorgeous views of the Absaroka Mountain Range. There is a two-story kitchen skylight, 2 great outdoor balconies with their own Bistro sets, and one with a beautiful private rooftop outdoor fireplace and sitting area. There is a private backyard with stainless steel BBQ, and outdoor dining for 6-8, under pergola and trees. In the front is a huge sunken firepit with ample seating for your entire group and guests.

All this, just minutes to Yellowstone National Park, the Yellowstone River, Chico Hot Springs, & Beautiful Pine Creek.

This unique, open floorplan home has custom rockwork, artwork and woodwork throughout, themed bedrooms, as well as an additional private Library and separate Theatre Room with a queen sofa sleeper~making a 5th bdrm.

The 1500 sq ft Master Suite is very private - on the 2nd story in a separate wing - and includes it's own kitchenette, his and hers separate bathrooms, extra large custom granite walk-in shower, huge sunken jacuzzi tub with corner windows and mountain views, a separate specially designed make-up area for her, and an extra large walk-in closet with his and hers dressers.

The Master Suite and the Bunkhouse room both have their own loveseat/table/chair living spaces with TVs. All bathrooms have custom tilework. The downstairs Fisherman's Room has an old fashioned tub, and an old saloon styled toilet closet. The upstairs Balcony Room has a private outdoor balcony, where you can have your morning cup of coffee and watch the sun rise over Emigrant Peak, as well as a French Provincial indoor balcony that opens to the Atrium with its wall of windows, and ceiling of skylights looking out toward golden hills and the Gallatin Mountain range with unobstructed views.

On the Main Floor, with it's open floor-plan and 12-14' high ceilings, is a huge sunken living room with a cozy ranch-style atmosphere, a giant stone custom fire place, two large cowboy sofas and extra window seating perfect for intimate family gatherings.

This wonderful open floor plan seamlessly integrates the library and media rooms, as well as the kitchen, bar, dining, living, and outdoor cooking/eating areas together to offer a spacious, yet comfortable, warm atmosphere for entertaining family and guests.

The giant dining room table easily accommodates large groups of 10 with additional seating for 4 at the serving bar.

The fully equipped, all stainless steel, custom kitchen has a double convection oven, large center Island with additional prep sink and seating for 2, stainless steel cookware, and extra large pots and serving dishes for special occasions. There is also a full custom bar with frig, wine cooler, serving glasses and pitchers ... essentially everything you will need for a wonderful family gathering or reunion.

There are two private balconies with bistro sets off 2nd floor rooms, offering more intimate settings with awesome mountain views. The private yard that opens from the dining room is a wonderful place to sit in the evenings, in a peaceful, quiet, nature setting, under the beautiful Montana skies. This home was built with love and family and friends and happy gatherings in mind, and we hope you will enjoy staying here as much as we do!

Welcome to your Home away from Home in Montana!

Thanksgiving Get away

  • 5 of 5

Our family gathered together to celebrate the holiday and spend some time together. The house was truly homey and very welcoming. My kids all love cooking so it had plenty of room for everyone to cook Thanksgiving dinner. It was nice to have the crackling fire at night while playing games. The guys enjoyed going fishing and saw large herds of deer, elk and big horn sheep. They also said they caught fish but released them. They did bring three back the second day. Chico is just a short drive away and the hot springs were relaxing for the kids, moms and grandma. The house is truly in a great location and is exactly as pictured in the video.

We are talking of booking in the summer so that we can have access to Yellowstone and use the outdoor fire pit and other amenities.

Amazing

  • 5 of 5

Sunhouse was a fantastic find for a quick Yellowstone Trip for the ladies and kids. I wish we had time to stay a few more days. The property is as described, well appointed, and so comfortable. The owner provides just about everything you could need or want. The beds are comfortable, the common areas comfortable for a group of 10. The living room has several couches as well as side seating, and is open to the kitchen and dining room, both of which have plenty of seating choices. The dining room table is a great place to play cards and dominoes. When someone wants to get away from the group, the library off the living room was a nice quiet escape.

We were greeted each morning by Mule deer visiting the kitchen window and the backyard. We saw eagles, many ravens and magpies.

We used the inside fireplace a couple of nights, and had a bonfire and smores in the back yard fire pit as well. The kids enjoyed exploring the yard around the house.

House was clean and everything worked well. The bedrooms and kitchen were very accommodating. We found the common areas to be very inviting. Owner provided great customer service. The house is nicely located to Chico and Gardener. We highly recommend the property.

Sun House Review

  • 4 of 5

The experience was very nice. It is difficult to say which aspect of the 4 days made the experience memorable whether it was having my whole family together, the views, the house or the people I encountered. Everyone from the house's owner to the people I met that were cleaning the house from the previous renters were accommodating. If you are looking for a true Montana experience in a relaxing and non-tours environment, this is the place.

The house was very clean and neat as well as having many household staples already provided; toilet paper, Kleenex, etc. While staying at the Sun House our family centered our day activities around the Yellowstone River such as rafting and fly fishing as well as a day trip to Yellowstone Park. The evenings were perfect to engage in family activities outside with the magnificent view of the mountains all around us.

Exceptional Experience

  • 5 of 5

Our group had an excellent time at The Sun House. It's a beautiful home with everything you would ever need. The views are wonderful and it's secluded enough to feel like you're tucked away from the rest of the world, but an easy drive to Gardiner, Yellowstone, Bozeman and other surrounding areas where many excursions can take place. We went on hikes near the house, spent a day at Yellowstone, went ziplining, and fly fished...and there was so much more to choose from in the area! If you're planning on coming out here, work in an extra day or two to your itinerary...you won't want to leave!!

Great Location!

  • 5 of 5

We're so glad Abram shared his home with the ten of us. It was perfect for us. We enjoyed cooking breakfast every morning and grilling out one evening. He is truly an artist and brilliant young man! We stayed there four nights. The drive to Gardiner was convenient as we did daily activities there. We white water rafted with Paradise Adventure Company and rode horses with them also. They were both GREAT! We also zip lined. The view from the house out by the fire pit was amazing and we really enjoyed our evenings there. And Abram was so helpful with any questions I had! Best vacation ever!!!
