All this, just minutes to Yellowstone National Park, the Yellowstone River, Chico Hot Springs, & Beautiful Pine Creek.

This unique, open floorplan home has custom rockwork, artwork and woodwork throughout, themed bedrooms, as well as an additional private Library and separate Theatre Room with a queen sofa sleeper~making a 5th bdrm.

The 1500 sq ft Master Suite is very private - on the 2nd story in a separate wing - and includes it's own kitchenette, his and hers separate bathrooms, extra large custom granite walk-in shower, huge sunken jacuzzi tub with corner windows and mountain views, a separate specially designed make-up area for her, and an extra large walk-in closet with his and hers dressers.

The Master Suite and the Bunkhouse room both have their own loveseat/table/chair living spaces with TVs. All bathrooms have custom tilework. The downstairs Fisherman's Room has an old fashioned tub, and an old saloon styled toilet closet. The upstairs Balcony Room has a private outdoor balcony, where you can have your morning cup of coffee and watch the sun rise over Emigrant Peak, as well as a French Provincial indoor balcony that opens to the Atrium with its wall of windows, and ceiling of skylights looking out toward golden hills and the Gallatin Mountain range with unobstructed views.

On the Main Floor, with it's open floor-plan and 12-14' high ceilings, is a huge sunken living room with a cozy ranch-style atmosphere, a giant stone custom fire place, two large cowboy sofas and extra window seating perfect for intimate family gatherings.

This wonderful open floor plan seamlessly integrates the library and media rooms, as well as the kitchen, bar, dining, living, and outdoor cooking/eating areas together to offer a spacious, yet comfortable, warm atmosphere for entertaining family and guests.

The giant dining room table easily accommodates large groups of 10 with additional seating for 4 at the serving bar.

The fully equipped, all stainless steel, custom kitchen has a double convection oven, large center Island with additional prep sink and seating for 2, stainless steel cookware, and extra large pots and serving dishes for special occasions. There is also a full custom bar with frig, wine cooler, serving glasses and pitchers ... essentially everything you will need for a wonderful family gathering or reunion.

There are two private balconies with bistro sets off 2nd floor rooms, offering more intimate settings with awesome mountain views. The private yard that opens from the dining room is a wonderful place to sit in the evenings, in a peaceful, quiet, nature setting, under the beautiful Montana skies. A great place for the family.

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I look for places we can take our family on vacation every other year.

The Sun House has been the best place we have found to accommodate us our three adult son's their wives and our grandchildren.

The views of the mountain are wonderful. Distance to Yellowstone National Park is perfect and the many locations to the Yellowstone River allowed us some wonderful times of fishing. Best of all the owner is a very gracious host. We will look for an opportunity to come back.

Sun House

  • 5 of 5

What a fabulous property! Staying at Sun House is almost like staying in a small castle. The decor is eclectic but tasteful. There was plenty of room for everyone and places for children to enjoy themselves separated from the adults. The host was super responsive to questions and requests. The kitchen is superb. We were a large party and stayed in two houses but when all 19 of us enjoyed a meal together, we were always at Sun House where there was plenty of space for all. The fire pit was the center of activities every evening. The house is situated relatively close to Yellowstone but there are also plenty of hiking opportunities close by; it is also located near facilities for river rafting and horseback riding. There was never a dull moment during the 9 days we were there. The views from Sun House are spectacular, so if you just want to spend a day relaxing, you don't need to go anywhere! This is a perfect place for a real vacation.

Perfect getaway

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in this lovely home as a little weekend getaway. It was perfect. It has everything that you might need, fully stocked kitchen, bbq grill, extra blankets and sheets and towels, wood for the fireplace (and they even arranged to bring us more! Thanks!) Plenty of space for 2-3 families. The kids had their space in the library/tv room and the adults congregated around the kitchen/living room. It is so close to Chico Hot Springs as well. We loaded everyone up and were there in 15 minutes. Thanks so much for letting us stay, we had a great time. (FYI, this was our 2nd visit and we will keep it on our favorite list!) Angela, Tom and Parker (3 years old).

The Perfect Mountain Getaway

  • 5 of 5

The Sun House was everything that we had envisioned it to be and more! The property is huge and secluded with breathtaking views from every angle of the house. The location is perfect, as well. You're a quick shot to Yellowstone, Chico Hot Springs, Livingston, Bozeman and the airport.

The house itself is a masterpiece. Each room you enter is like walking into a new world. There's so much to look at and explore, you could get lost for a day just enjoying the house. The Hemingway Suite is absolutely massive with views from the bed and the bathtub. As we had four girls staying at the house, we loved the vanity area to get ready together and the huge walk-in closet to keep our clothes. The bunk room has an epic balcony with an outdoor fire pit and is the perfect room for a family or a couple who wants some privacy.

We loved the downstairs area as well as we were able to cook together and still enjoy the activities in the living room, which has a huge stone fireplace and a bar (our favorite place ;]). The dining room table is large enough to fit a large group and there is bar seating as well. The ceilings are all high with tons of skylights - this place is literally illuminated by light from all the windows and skylights...even in February!

My friends and I had the most amazing vacation in Montana and a large part of that was due to this house itself. It was hard to say goodbye, but we can't wait to come back in the summer months and for years to come!

A work of Art

  • 5 of 5

The house is an artistic delight in every room. The you tube video of Sunhouse that Abram put together was fun to watch and we couldn't wait to see it all in person. We stayed three nights with three other couples. Everyone had their own bedroom and the house is way big enough that no one felt cramped. The open floor plan for the kitchen-dining-living rooms is set up so nicely that whoever is cooking or working at the dining room table, they still feel involved in any fun conversations that are floating about. We cooked a turkey dinner and had everything we needed to prepare this big meal as far as pots, pans, bowls and utensils. The big rock fireplace was perfect to enjoy on cold winter nights. It worked perfectly ~ absolutely no kick back of smoke in the house. We loved the bar and Tom looked like a natural working as our bartender.

The house was in a very good location for the activities we had planned. We skied in the park one day out Blacktail and then drove up the Lamar Valley with hopes of seeing a wolf pack ~ which we did. We saw the Molly pack ~ 14 strong!!!! We stopped and hiked (aboout 1/2 mile) into the Gardiner Boiling River Hot Springs on our way out of the park and that was such a unique experience as well. Be sure to bring water shoes of some sort if you want to get in the boiling river. We skied up Mill Creek Road the other day . . . . . . a wonderful trip too. Also drove down to Chico Hot Springs for a soak and a few games of Shuffle Board in the bar.

If you want to stay in a property like no other ~ then consider staying at Sunhouse.

The house is not for older clientele that do not deal with stairs. Such a fun spot for all of us. We highly recommend this place for those that want a unique property to transport them to a very magical place. Abram was very easy to work with and accommodating in every way.

Perfect Home for a Family Vacation

  • 5 of 5

Sun House is an amazing property. Plenty of room for families to vacation together. The location is only 28 miles from the North entrance to Yellowstone Park. We were a group of seven with ages ranging from 71 - 21 and everyone was very comfortable. We enjoyed having a fire in the fire pit at night. Each morning and evening deer were in the yard. The views of Emigrant Peak are stunning. We had amazing sunrises and sunsets each day.

The owner Abram is very helpful and always available if you need him. He recommended lots of local activities for our group. I would highly recommend staying at the Sun House if you are considering a trip to Yellowstone National Park.
