Relaxing, peaceful location. This cozy home is 1/4 mile from the beach
About Ken Stinnett
I live in Newberg Oregon. I try to retreat to the beach house as much as with growing boys means growing schedules. So finding the time to go is difficult. Since it tends to be unoccupied most of the time, we thought we might as well rent it out. It will help financially, but also hopefully provide a place for memories to be created.
Ken Stinnett purchased this House in 2005
What makes this House unique
The location is so wonderful. With the beach nearby, the lake steps away. A park a block (if that) down the street that has picnic areas, basketball court volleyball net and a boat ramp. Between the house and the beach there is the Lewis & Clark National Historic park with miles of hiking. If you go early enough in the morning you are sure to see elk. Bald eagles also make appearance. If golf is your thing, then there are plenty of courses in the area to choose from. This area of the beach is less touristy than Seaside, so it is a great place to fly kites, go clamming, have a campfire, or even play baseball!

Very comfortable. Well appointed. Liked the “little beach treasures” scattered around . Very comfy and cozy. Would definitely recommend and will hope to stay again when in the area.
cute place but......
The house in itself was charming and nicely decorated and the location was perfect for us to have easy access to my family and the wedding venue! The owner Ken was responsive to my early questions about the property and accommodated our request for an early check in. But unfortunately the house needs quite a bit of cleaning and repairs ( dirty pot's in the cupboards, filthy windows and window sills, greasy cutting boards, cobwebs, carpet has seen better days and needs to be restreched in the living room. broken window locks on 4 windows, VCR in Living room had a movie jammed in it, the window blinds and shades were impossible to raise or lower. The home sleeps 8 but only had a table with 4 chairs and a bar with 2 stools, dishes were a jumble of mismatched and chipped pieces.
We enjoyed staying in this cozy older home in a quiet neighborhood. The home was decorated with lovely memoirs of both family and the sea. The location was excellent for shopping, traveling around to the variety of small towns nearby (Astoria, Seaside, Canon Beach & others). It was close to both Ft. Stevens State Park and Ft. Clatsop, one of the winter homes of the Lewis and Clark expedition. We also visited Lake Cullaby and had a nice picnic there. The Wi-Fi and TV both worked well for our down time. We had a lovely visit to the area.
Labor Day Getaway
This is our first time staying at this property. There was a delay with cleaning staff that was quickly resolved by the owner. The location was good and the neighborhood was quiet. Easy access to Fort Stevens campsite. We would stay again.
Our stay was great. Ken was so helpful when I phoned him. House was clean and welcoming and in a great location. We’ll be back.
Great family weekend
The house is a good location just a short drive to Sunset beach which is a great beach and the price is right. The beach itself is a drive on beach which with little kids can be a little difficult having to always be on the look out for cars. The house is cozy and was great for us and our two kids. There is a “fire pit “ out front that is rusty and falling apart and posed some dangers for our kids playing out there but that would be my only complaint.
Thanks for your response. I am actually replacing the firepit at the end of Sept. It works, but the beach weather has done its damage to it.
