Overview

Oregon House Rental Photos and Description

Relaxing, peaceful location. This cozy home is 1/4 mile from the beach

This house is in a perfect location. It is literally steps away from Lake Neacoxie. It is a short 1/4 mile walk to Sunset Beach. This beach is great because you can drive on it..this beach is also know for it's amazing clamming season. So much fun for adults and the kids. Seaside is 8 miles down the road, or the other direction is Astoria, which has the best Saturday Market and amazing shopping.

The house was built in 1940, and has been renovated. We have a family of 4, and usually bring another couple. It seems to be the perfect size. My family and I love going there to re plug into each other. It works every time!

We love our home, and hope you get the same enjoyment from it as we do!

About Amy Stinnett

My family and I live in Newberg Oregon. We try and retreat to the beach house as much as possible..but with growing boys means growing schedules. So finding the time to go is difficult. Since it tends to be unoccupied most of the time, we thought we might as well rent it out. It will help financially, but also hopefully provide a place for memories to be created.

What makes this house unique

The location is so wonderful. With the beach nearby, the lake steps away. A park a block (if that) down the street that has picnic areas, basketball court volleyball net and a boat ramp. Between the house and the beach there is the Lewis & Clark National Historic park with miles of hiking. If you go early enough in the morning you are sure to see elk. Bald eagles also make appearance. If golf is your thing, then there are plenty of courses in the area to choose from. This area of the beach is less touristy than Seaside, so it is a great place to fly kites, go clamming, have a campfire, or even play baseball!

Wonderful Weekend Getaway!!!

  • 5 of 5

ADORABLE cottage!!! Even better than the pictures and written descriptions! Cute shabby chic / beach decor, created a great ambiance!

Clean, well stocked, everything we could have needed. Plenty of comfy and cozy space for our 5 kiddos. Really enjoyed the "old time" classic VHS movies (kids had a blast with them). Toy box full of toys was great for our younger ones. Beds and furniture were very comfortable. We enjoyed the short walk to the beach along the trails. Great scenery! We wished the park down the street was kept up a little better (but know that has nothing to do with the owners of this VRBO). We also wished the corner store bakery/deli had been open during our stay (it was closed for remodeling), but this just gives us another excuse to come back. :-) Our kids asked us, "Can we come back here every year???" We took the short drive to Seaside & Cannon Beach, too . . . everything about this location is fabulous! Thank you for a wonderful weekend getaway!

Fun Stay

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our stay here. We hadn't visited this area in many years and it was fun to go back and take in the sights. We kayaked at Sunset lake on both days we stayed. It's a very long lake so we went north one day and south the next. We saw lots of ducks and a few Heron.

The beach is not far and the Fort Trail access is really close. We tried to take the Fort Trail to the Ocean...but it was way too wet and the paths were full of water...maybe in the summer!

There was plenty of room for just the two of us. We had plenty of towels and the kitchen was well stocked with pots and pans and utensils. It was easy to make breakfast and lunch there.

Amy was quick to respond when we had a couple of questions and very accommodating with a request. Thanks you!

Loved it!

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely enjoyed our stay at the Sunset Cottage! It was everything we expected and more. It was perfect for our little family and we especially loved how close we were to the beach. We spent a week there, and it felt like home. Thanks for letting us stay in your cute little house. We already miss it!

Thanks again Amy!

We absolutely loved staying at this wonderful beach cottage! It was very homey, clean, and well stocked. It was also so close to the beach. You could walk, ride bikes, or drive to and on the beach. We loved every minute!. Thank you for sharing your home with us. We are planning on coming again next year!
