In the heart of West Queen West, recently declared the second coolest neighbourhood in the world by Vogue! Tastefully renovated apartment that we have used ourselves. The bedroom includes a Queen bed with twin bed loft/bunk, suitable for a child age 3-15.
A spacious wooden patio is accessible from the bedroom. The bathroom glass shower stall has ample hot water. Amenities include washer/dryer, full kitchen, a/c, WIFI, cable TV, DVD player. Numerous multi-ethnic restaurants, shops and galleries are on the doorstep, as is public transportation. Trinity Bellwoods park is nearby and it's an easy walk to the AGO (art gallery), TIFF Bell lightbox (cinema), Roy Thompson hall (music), King west entertainment district (theatre) . Add 10 minutes to access ACC (sports).
Our place is not suitable or comfortable for 3 adults but can work well for a family with one child using the loft/bunk bed.
No smoking or pets please.
We do not provide parking, but temporary parking permits are available on line at http://www.toronto.ca/transportation/onstreet/index.htm. Visitors to our address can park in the 4H zone (any sidestreet in the area between Ossington and Bathurst, Dundas and Queen)
We live 1 1/2 hrs north of Toronto in the country. This apt has been our urban escape for years and we love it. It's bright, happy and located in our favorite part of Toronto.
We have recently renovated the 3rd floor apt (previously used for long-term rentals) and have moved upstairs.
We come down to the city approximately every 1-2 weeks. We have used VRBO ourselves and hope to provide guests a comfortable, stress free experience with easy availability to us at all times.
Dan or Tessa purchased this apartment in 2006
We love the tranquility of living, isolated, on a farm. However, intermittently, it's interesting and fun to immerse ourselves in an urban environment and our property is what we consider a perfect location to do so. We've traveled extensively and although each location is unique, Queen st w. Toronto is our favorite, due primarily to the multi-ethnic aspect of the place and proximity to various interesting venues.
I have rented vacation rentals off of VRBO before for different locations, i have to say this is my favorite! Tessa was so polite, very helpful when we got a little lost finding the street and just a pleasure to meet .You blink you might miss the door to enter this funky little loft but i liked that. Such a wonderful warm home to spend time at when visiting Toronto. This was our first time in the city and let me tell you, you cant go wrong with staying on Queen West. You open your front door look left, look right and there are endless options of food, shopping and entertainment. The public transportation is very organized and quite easy to figure out (thank you google). Very easy to hop on trolley to take a few blocks over to the Theater district. If it wasn't so cold out i wouldn't have even used the public transportation because it would be a wonderful walk. We most defiantly hope to be back during warmer weather so we can enjoy more of the outdoors while visiting. Thank you Tessa and Dan , we had an awesome visit!
great location in a fabulous neighbourhood, lovely apartment = well furnished and comfortable - everything you need including one of my favourtie toronto restaurants, BANU, right downstairs. Couldn't be better.
Pictures don't quite do justice as this place is bigger that it appears which is great. If you've got kids, they'll love the loft bed. You can also travel light as there is a full washer and dryer in the suite. Bathroom is a bit on the small side but still cute. The patio off of the bedroom is decently large enough for 8 people to mingle around on. Being on Queen Street, you have tons of dining options or you can cook with the fully appointed kitchen. Dan and Tessa are very accommodating hosts. Only things that I could think of for improvements would be a sharper knife for food prep and a gas/propane BBQ on the balcony to further take advantage of the private outdoor space offered. Other than that, this place is within an gentle 30 minute walk to BMO Field.
Cheers from Dennis & Linda who stayed during the Grey Cup
Me and my girlfriend stayed here. This is our second time. Dan and Tessa are excellent hosts, and we could not be more pleased to meet them. The place is so close to major tourist attractions that you can walk to most of them (and we did bumping up the mileage on our Fitbits). Fortunately for us, we were able to mitigate using transit thanks to a warm November. Everything in our little apartment was fantastic. We would definitely stay there again. :-)
Dan and Tessa's apartment is wonderful. The colours make it feel like a home and it is in our favourite Toronto neighbourhood. It has everything you need to make a stay easy and enjoyable - clean, quiet, well equipped. As others have said, the variety of restaurants, shops and transit options are great. It is also an enjoyable walk to so much that the city offers. We were happy to find that another Jimmy's, our favourite coffee place, had opened on the corner. Across the street, Terroni is a favourite for pizza.
Thank you, Dan and Tessa. We will be back.
The apartment on Queen West is as near perfect as can be expected. The property is beautifully appointed and larger than it appears in the photographs. Location is great with Trinity Bellwoods Park a short walk away, more great restaurants than you could patronize in a month's time, dozens of shops of all stripes and public transit on your doorstep. The neighborhood is perfect for walking with Kensington Market, Chinatown, King Street and of course West Queen all in easy reach. Tessa and Dan are great hosts and made the check-in/check-out process as easy as could be. We would recommend the location to anyone without reservation and would gladly return. Thanks Tessa and Dan for making our Toronto stay extra nice with your beautiful apartment.
West Queen West is an artistic, multi-ethnic, funky area - recently voted by Vogue as the 'second coolest neighbourhood in the world'! On our doorstep you will find a multitude of restaurants, art galleries, theaters, hip hotels, indie boutique shopping and great people watching. TIFF bell lightbox, Roy Thompson Hall and beautiful Trinity Bellwoods park are blocks away and Lake Ontario is a 15 min walk.
