Upstairs loft style sitting room with comfortable English furniture, south facing French windows & balcony. A large top of the range LCD TV with UK channels, music system & DVD / CD player.

The apartment has been finished to a very high standard.

Zermatt: The car free resort of Zermatt is situated at the foot of the Matterhorn in Switzerland and offers access to a ski area of over 400km, connected to Cervinia in Italy. The village is situated at 1560m and with the highest cable car at 3888m it ensures excellent skiing in the winter and great glacier skiing in the summer. The Old House is only a 5 minute walk away from Sunnegga & Gornergrat lift stations & the bus stop for Klein Matterhorn is a 3 minute walk.

Location of the apartment: Nestled between the two five star hotels in Zermatt’s centre the Hinterdorfstrasse is a charming quiet cobbled street & the oldest part of the village. Many of the buildings date back to the 1700’s. Hinterdorf is now a listed & protected area.

If I could give higher than 5 stars I would!

Old House Zermatt is wonderful! The historic and convenient location is such a treat. The apartment is beautiful; clean, charming and fully equipped. It is everything it promised to be and more. Marcus has thought through every detail, from transportation to and from the train station to restaurant recommendations. We enjoyed every minute of our vacation. Thank you Marcus!

Charming Home & Owner

The Old House Zermatt is a charming, beautifully kept home in a central location in Zermatt. This house made our trip complete along with a personal visit from the owner Marcus who gave us many good tips of must-see and do things in Zermatt. We enjoyed the hike down from the Gornergrat to ZumSee restaurant and the hike to Trift. We hope to come back!!

A Perfect House in a Perfect Location

Just finished a five-night hiking holiday at "The Old House" with three of my adult children. The house is very well appointed, in a perfect location in the village center, and is full of old world charm. It is the quintessential Swiss Alps house with all the modern conveniences. The owner met us at the train station, which is only a five-minute walk from the house, and gave us a thorough overview of the house and its history. In every respect, The Old House itself was a significant and very positive element of our hiking holiday. I have no reservations in recommending it to anyone contemplating a visit to Zermatt and who is looking for a thoroughly modern "old world" living experience. I will certainly time my next visit to Zermatt around its availability.

Fabulous

I can't speak more highly of the Old Home. What a treat! This property is exactly as depicted - high end fittings and fixtures, beautiful kitchen a delight to prepare banquets. Extremely clean and comfortable. We even managed to squeeze an one extra child. We had the holiday of a life time. The snow was perfect, the weather clear every day. Our host, Marcus, was so helpful and concerned about our enjoyment and the ease of our arrival, he also gave us extremely helpful local tips about ski hire etc. Central location is excellent, close to main drag, supermarket, shops, everything. We are already planning our next visit. I would recommend this apartment to anybody who enjoys freedom, luxury, ease and a little privacy. Very high standard holiday accommodation. thanks Marcus from Lisa, Richard, Sophie, Simon and Fabian.

Ski: SKI LIFTS Gornergrat: A 5 minute walk down the Bahnhofstrasse.

Sunnegga: A 6 minute walk down past the bus stop & along the river.

Klein Matterhorn: Best to take the bus 3 minute walk to the river or a 15 min walk.

Town Centre; The Bahnhofstrasse (High St.) with restaurants, bars & shops just a one minute walk.

Train Station: A 6 minute walk or take an Electro Taxi for CHF20 with luggage.

Notes:
Best use has been made of the available space despite strict building regulations on this beautiful listed property, so the bathrooms are functional but small with showers in both & the internal staircase is very steep. There is however another outside staircase that runs up the side of the building.
