Boulder has been our home for thirty years. We often travel to Africa on medical relief projects. We have two children and two grandchildren, a dog, a cat (neither included in rental--unless special arrangements are made) and fish in the pond. Charles is an AIDS doctor and Torkin has founded a poverty eradication project in Uganda called BeadforLife.
Torkin Wakefield purchased this house in 2009
A few years ago, after many years living in the mountain town of Gold Hill, we wanted to be closer to all the wonderful opportunities in downtown Boulder. We looked for two years until we found the really perfect home. It felt so like us we knew it was our next home. Imagine our surprise when the realtor called with the news we had been outbid and another family would call 'our' home theirs. Sure enough, 3 months later the new owner put it on the market as they were unable to make the finances work, and we were able to purchase what all along we knew was our lifetime dreamhome. And now you get to be at home here too.

Loved staying in your comfy home. It is full of light and beauty. And the location allowed us to get to everything in Boulder easily. Thank you so much.
Will be back.
We loved our month in this wonderful, comfortable home. We cooked a lot. Loved the high end appliances, wine fridge, dishes and flatware, Direct TV. Fresh herbs and berries in the garden. Hot tub. Gym, pool, yoga, water aerobics and Pilates at the nearby rec center. We were able to get a monthly non-resident pass at a reasonable rate. Excellent hiking/biking trails nearby. Deer and goats in the neighborhood! We walked into downtown Boulder (.8 miles) every day. Our golden retriever was welcomed. Dog friendly area. Enjoyed concerts at Red Rocks and Chautauqua, plays at UC Boulder, movies at Century Cinema. We definitely recommend and would gladly return.
This was the perfect location for us and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It was very well equipped, and our grandchildren loved the hot tub. If you want a great place to stay in Boulder in a great neighborhood, and close to restaurants, shopping, Pearl Street, the University, this is the place for you. We will be back.
We hosted several gatherings of family and friends for our son's college graduation from CU --- a dinner catered by Savory Cuisines, a casual BBQ dinner, breakfast buffet, and happy hours. The layout of the main living area and kitchen which has an island with bar stools plus a serving buffet between the kitchen and dining room, a wine cooler, and a good size laundry room with a large countertop makes entertaining easy. We rented additional tables and chairs for the patio so guests could enjoy the backyard and koi pond. All of our guests said the celebration experience in this home was 100 times better than gathering at a restaurant because you could actually visit with guests. The property manager calls herself VRBO Ground Support---she is outstanding.
We stayed here for the week before our daughter' wedding. Everything was just wonderful, and so comfortable. Very clean, and a great location to everything in Boulder. A very nice
neighborhood as well. We never did use the hot tub but enjoyed the lovely backyard...I highly recommend this property. The owners made it a very enjoyable experience.
We booked this beautiful home to accommodate a family reunion. It was more interesting and comfortable than the description and pictures described. It had everything we needed as well as being well cared for. The surprise was how very interesting it was.....pictures and art work reflecting the owners commitment to helping others. It is located within walking distance of coffee and groceries..great addition ... and is in the hands of a competent and lovely property manager who is ready to be of help during the entire visit. We hope to return. Note that we recommend this for all different kinds of groups. The garden in the back is a beautiful area in which to just relax and share with others.
My husband, two daughters (5yrs and 2yrs), parents and I stayed at this wonderful home while visiting Boulder. The location was perfect. A short walk away from an amazing pool and rec center, playgrounds, and a short bike or car ride from more playgrounds, Pearl Street, grocery stores, and restaurants. Close to everything Boulder has to offer! The house was beautiful and laid out well. Cassidy, the house manager, we very helpful and knowledgable, as well as the owners! My family had a great time together in the lush, private backyard and taking care of the fish. A non-road access to the Boulder bike path would have made this rental PERFECT!
