About Xavier Wartelle
I am a French-American citizen living near San Francisco in the Bay Area. I spent my career between France and the US in high tech ventures. I am passionate about mountaineering and climbing.
Xavier Wartelle purchased this Apartment in 2009
Why Xavier Wartelle chose Chamonix City Centre
Chamonix is the capital of climbing and a wonderful place for skiing and hiking. I started going to Chamonix in 1994 and I still love it. In 2010, I decided to undertake a major remodeling of the apartment, tearing everything apart to build a unique and very comfortable place. I designed it myself, choosing the best materials I could find. I wanted a modern open space, with tons of lighting and comfort. I also wanted to give some character to the apartment with modern art pieces.
What makes this Apartment unique
The Modern Art is in the heart of the town with easy access to all facilities including the ski lifts at 10mn. Still, the place is very quiet, being on a quiet street and equipped with noise isolation windows. The design and the artwork of the apartment are unique. There are few places like this in the mountains! The kitchen and the bathrooms are state of the art as well as the heating system. Everyone loves these luxurious appointments and comforts!

If you like to walk around and not have to drive then this is the spot. We even walked to the ski lift. The appartement is modern, spacious and well equipped.
Thank you Martin!
Great apt in a very convenient location!
The apartment was perfect for our family of 4. Well equipped, well maintained and perfectly situated, we enjoyed our 5 night stay. The apartment has incredible views of Mont Blanc and is steps away from the grocery store, restaurants, bus routes and just a few minutes walk from the base of the ski hill (Savoy beginner area which is a convenient way to get to the gondola for Brevent/Flegere ski areas).
Xavier was very easy to work with, communicated well about getting into the apartment and had an assistant to guide us into the parking spot in the garage.
We stayed at Modern Art for 6 nights. Andy who greeted us went out of his way to fetch a suitcase for us that someone on the bus from Geneva took by mistake. We can’t thank him enough for that.
The Apartment is very well equipped and close to everything. We skied, road the bus and ate at many of the fine restaurants close by. We also made a traditional La Raclette de Savoire meal at the apartment which was fun. I highly recommend staying here.
Thanks for your review. I am glad you had a good time in my apartment!
Doing a raclette is one the best way to appreciate the "Chamoniarde" food. The cheese, the ham, the salami are so good :)
All the best
Great apartment, great location
Clean, modern, well-equipped, easy check in and out. Will definitely stay there again
I will be pleased to host you again.
All the best,
Super location, very modern and roomy.
Will definitely book again.
super-modern, well-located, comfortable
The apartment is at ground level, so people do pass by outside, but you do have views of Mont Blanc. Everything works, although we--as non-modern people--had some trouble figuring out how to operate the devices. Our local liaison, Andy, was extremely helpful whenever we had a problem. The best attributes of the apartment were its proximity to everything---buses, lifts, grocery stores, restaurants--and the high quality of the appliances. The owner is also extremely nice and helpful with suggestions, rapid responses, etc.

Cham' is a destination popular the world over. In the streets of this high-mountain town you'll hear languages from every corner of the globe. But the people who come to this 'summit meeting' share the same way of thinking, the same love for mountaineering, its legends and its ethics.
When you're out shopping in the town center, wherever you are look up and you'll see 'it' there… 4,810 metres (15,781 ft) of rock, snow, ice and dreams of things to come.
The property is in walking distance to groceries, pharmacies, bookstores, many restaurants and bars, post office and much much more.
