Step out the back door and into Kapoho Bay for some of the finest and safest snorkeling in the Islands. This gated community is highly sought-after by vacationers because of it's beautiful location, close proximity to the sights and sounds of the beautiful Pacific Ocean and for the incredibly private crystal clear, geothermally heated lagoons for your relaxing pleasure. Kapoho is rarely crowded, the Kapoho Tidepools are protected from the ocean's waves by a coral reef, the water is crystal clear, and often warmer than the ocean because of geothermally heated springs that enter into the tidepools in various places. Right out the back door, you will find honu (sea turtles) making their home in these waters.

We really enjoyed staying in this house. It is a long way to most things from this area but it feels more like Hawaii then a hotel. There are things that could be improved about the property that would be easy. First, it needs new sheets of some quality that fit the bed. The sheets appeared as old as I and did not stay on during the night. Though the kitchen was fairly well equipped it could use a decent baking sheet and coffee filters. Imagine having to drive 20 min. for your first cup of coffee. The white bath towel was permanently stained or dirty. We could not get the cable guide to update and work well. These things can easily be improved, and I am still happy I stayed there. The fish and turtles were wonderful.
Our stay was very enjoyable and relaxing. Jeana was fantastic with all of our questions and very accommodating. The house was fully equipped with all the things we needed to prepare and cook our meals there. We snorkeled every day sometimes twice a day. We would definitely recommend to any of our friends!
Our stay here was great ! Everything we could possibly need was set in the hole ! The realtor Jeana was awesome she was there for any questions we may have had from before our stay till the very last day ! My kids had so much fun ! And we were relaxed ! Thank you Jeana ! I will definitely be calling you again for another stay :))
This was our 2nd stay at Hale Lokelani. I didn't think I could love it more than last time, but I did. We were here 2 years ago when the new owner bought the place and were very pleased with the upgrades. The counters were refinished and very clean, and the bed had anew very comfy mattress. We are in heaven when we stay here, really get the rest we need, don't need to rush around. Having the lagoon for snorkeling is just awesome. It's not as flashy as Kealakekua, but you get to know the inhabitants, and the warm water is divine. Civilization is a short drive away, and easy access to Hilo and less visited sights to see up the east coast. I missed it as soon as we got home, noticed the lack of coquis to sing me to sleep. The only complaint I have is that if you like to cook, either bring sharp knives or pick one up in town, and when we come again, I'm bringing my frying pan. Aloha!
We stayed from July 3-9 and was a great location for us. Nice quiet location away from the traffic. My 9 yr old daughter enjoyed swimming every day in the lagoon with fishes and turtles. Very relaxing spot. However, it was a little uneasy at first to have our kids sleep down stairs away from main floor. But, they were good with it. Will like to go back again soon. One week was not long enough to enjoy the big island. Check in and out was easy. Note: no cell phone service. Just WiFi.
We recently spent a week in this Kapoho beach home and what an amazing time we had! Every morning we had coffee on the lagoon, then slipped into the warm waters to snorkel. We were honored to have daily visits by the Hawaiian Sea Turtles. The home was beautiful, and well appointed. We had a WONDERFUL, relaxing lovely time. Kapoho is on the east side of the island and receives a fair bit of rain, but the days are mostly sunny and crystal clear. We will definitely be back!
