Why Peter Geiger chose Edinburgh

The well-regarded New Town location is close to the shops and restaurants of Broughton Street. The raised Ground Floor contains the principal rooms of the Georgian house under 13 foot ceilings. The past few years have seen a renewed interest in times gone by and I have chosen a 'Downton Abbey' theme to the furnishings and decoration using reclaimed fixtures, antique furniture and period colors.

What makes this apartment unique

The sunny eat-in kitchen, large dining hall, sunny studio bedroom and substantial drawing room with its two vast windows make this flat a very comfortable and versatile home. The kitchen, bath and laundry have all new appliances. Two period marble fireplaces (decorative only, not working), working window shutters and an eclectic collection of objects combine to create a unique feeling of serenity.

Beautiful, perfect location

We will definitely stay again. The flat had everything we needed on a quiet street close to great pubs and shops, just beautiful. The check in process was seamless and Peter and his team were wonderful!! Thank you!!

It was centrally located in New Town, Edinburgh and we were very comfortable in a safe part of town.

Edinburgh was a fum city. We were there for a friend's wedding and thoroughly enjoyed our time. There was plenty to do in the area and easy to get around. There were many nice restaurants within walking distance. The flat was very comfortable and nicely decorated with antiques.

Exceptional apartment in great location

This New Town apartment is just exceptional. The location is perfect for exploring Edinburgh on foot. The decor is superb. It is welcoming and has a very warm feel about it. It was a pleasure to return to the apartment each night and experience the calm and tranquility after a busy day. The bed is extremely comfortable and the soothing view from the bedroom window is just lovely. The kitchen is well equipped and the washer and dryer are very efficient. This accommodation is a rare find, we absolutely loved our week long stay.

This is where we will stay when we come back to Edinburgh!

Few places are exactly as described and as the pictures show. This was even better! It gave us a real taste of life in a beautiful Georgian townhouse in New Town. It is a spacious, elegant apartment that is lovingly furnished, containing beautiful antiques and paintings. Yet so comfortable, also great bed! The apartment was well equipped and well maintained. We were welcomed by Anna (the custodian) and felt at home. Loved the neighbourhood. We are fans of McCall Smith and Scotland Street and a local pub was just around the corner. Shops and restaurants were within easy walking distance as was the Old Town. We will be back!

Uniquely Fabulous

This lovely, elegant Georgian townhouse flat could not have been more perfect for my 4 night stay in Edinburgh. From the booking process, to emails from the owner, to meeting the friendly housekeeper upon arrival, it exceeded my expectations in every way. First and foremost, the place was immaculately clean. The period furnishings are so special and appear to be chosen with a keen collector's eye. Antiques which have stood the test of time are not restored but lovingly worn. The pictures don't do it justice. I enjoyed reading the inventory list that is provided in the Welcome Folder which gave great descriptions of all the furnishings. The kitchen was well equipped with small appliances, cookware and everything you need to cook a meal. (Which I did several times during my stay - Sainsbury's and Tesco are within walking distance.) The bed was very comfortable with down pillows and crisp clean sheets and duvet. The bathroom had a deep, long soaking tub with shower and plenty of hot water. Incredibly, there was a washer and dryer which was a Godsend during my 17 day holiday since I am a staunch advocate for traveling light. Large, shuttered windows throughout the flat provided a welcome breeze during the heatwave happening while I was there. The location is quiet and safe and within walking distance to Waverly Station and the Royal Mile. I hesitate leaving such a glowing review because I'm afraid it will encourage others to book and this property won't be available the next time I want to stay there! And, believe me, I will definitely try to stay there again.

A really spacious apartment that is lovely to come home to after exploring Edinburgh.

This apartment in 5 Great King Street is in a brilliant location. A very short walk to great beer & wine shops, organic fruit veg store, pubs and restaurants, hairdressers, gift and flower shops, anything you'd like! Then an easy walk from there to the bus/coach station, the main city & up to Edinburgh castle and surrounds.

I stayed for a week in May and it was lovely; comfortable and quiet, safe and secure.

Great King Street is the central avenue of Edinburgh's New Town World Heritage Site, dating from the early part of the 19th Century. The private gardens of Drummond Place lie to the eastern end and those of Royal Circus at the western end. It is particularly well suited for access to all the amenities of the city centre with George Street and Princes Street just 1/4 mile away. Waverley Train Station, with regular train services to London, is less than half a mile and there is good road access westwards towards the bypass, Edinburgh airport and Central Scotland Motorway Network. Shopping is just a short walk away is Broughton Street—with one of the best butchers and one of the best fishmongers in town.
