U`ilani purchased this cottage in 2011
We chose beautiful Kaloli Point area because it's rural, safe, and friendly. Towns are easily accessible, but still has that small 'coastal community feel'.
It's always lush and green here! We are right in the middle of the best parts of the the Windward side of the Island. Beautiful Hilo to the North and tropical Kalapana to the South. There is so much history here in the 'Aina (land).
House was neat and it was a very comfortable stay. Will stay again
Very clean unit in a quiet community. The grounds and landscaping were beautiful. About equal distance to Hilo or Volcano National Park. Owner was very helpful and prompt with e-mail. Truly glad we found this location and would definitely return.
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this tree house cottage, It was very simply decorated and equipedwith the basics, so it met our needs. We especially appreciated the extra beach towels. Everything was very clean, and the owner was easy to work with, providing good directions and other important bits of information. The bed in the bedroom was very comfortable. We especially enjoyed waking up to the birds singing in the trees outside our windows in the mornings. Lovely flowers were blooming in the trees and around the yard too. Other than a few cars that belonged to the neighbors coming and going, there was no noise - just the beautiful sounds of nature. At the owners request, we closed up the house each time we left to keep out rain. But we found that the cottage cooled off very quickly after being opened up upon return. The location was perfect, centrally located between the Volcano National Park, Hilo, Akaka Falls, and other interesting places to visit. If you don't need "fancy", this is the perfect hide-away on the Big Island!
Beautiful! Wonderfully furnished. Will return!
What a great hidden gem! Absolutely loved this home. A bit of a beautiful drive off the highway, but once you arrive, you feel like you're home. Very close to the ocean to watch a beautiful sunrise. We loved falling asleep to the sound of the coqui frogs, we thought they were night bird sounds!! We will definitely look to stay here when we return back to Hilo. Thank you for allowing us to stay in your beautiful and peaceful home.
This was a very clean unit. The grounds and landscaping were beautiful. In addition, if you any questions about the area, Uilani is very helpful and quick to respond. The only negative about the property was that it was a bit of a ways away from most sites. However, if you are looking for a secluded area, this is the property for you.
Located in the lush, tropical paradise of Sunny Kaloli Point. Our private cottages are located only minutes away from rugged volcanic coast and near Black Sand Beaches, Akaka Falls, Volcanoes National Park, Active Kilauea Volcano. Stroll thru historic Pahoa Town. Watch whales from the coastline (Dec.-Mar), take an exciting Zip Line Tour, pick up fresh, local items at many Farmers Markets. Or just 'kick back' and enjoy the birds, foliage and Hawaiian music in the hammock on the lanai!
