Hi, I am an academic who frequently travels for research and study.
Mujeeb Khan purchased this apartment in 2004
I love the vintage feel and location of the property.
Peace and quite in a very convenient location and easy walk to CTA Purple Line subway.
We had a very nice time (even though the Vikings played very poorly).
It was fun spending time with our grandson!!
We couldn't have asked for a better location. The beds were comfortable. It was air conditioned and there was a flat screened TV. It had all the comforts of home and even had goodies waiting for us in the refrigerator! I also loved the space age toilet seat and the light went on automatically when you walked into the bathroom!
The space was large but many rooms did not match pictures. Owners were accommodating and generously provided some basic food items. However, apartment was in disrepair (leaky window, microwave faceplate fell off). Kitchen was missing some items we would have liked to use for cooking. The place was adequate but not exactly 'lovely'
While not for everyone, this two bedroom apartment, centrally located in Evanston, was perfect lodging for a Father, one adult son, and two teenage sons. We were visiting the Chicago area to see family and take in a couple of ballgames (Go Cubs!). It was by far the most reasonable accommodations offered in Evanston, so nothing near House Beautiful standards, but perfect for four men "bacheloring it." We didn't use the kitchen for cooking, preferring to eat out. But we slept comfortably, were able to keep up with politics and sports via a large-screen television, and enjoyed the neighborhood. We were able to walk to the "L" on Main Street, and used it to go to Wrigley Field one day, and the Art Institute on another.
Our host, Mr Khan was thoroughly delightful, and informative.
My husband and I rented this apartment for 2 1/2 weeks. The apartment is better suited for a stay of a couple of days rather than the longer stay we had. The kitchen was very small with little counter space for cooking, had no dishwasher, and lacked some basic kitchen tools for cooking from scratch. There was also little space to store dishes and pots and pans, which made it more difficult to cook.
The other drawbacks were an small bathroom, and an uncomfortable, soft mattress. Also, I expected the apartment to be cleaned more professionally because there is a cleaning fee. Instead, there was dust and cobwebs under the furniture and the bathroom was not scoured as it should have been.
That said, the owner is very nice and did try to supply items requested, and the owner did leave some food and cleaning supplies for us. The apartment is also located on a quiet street and very conveniently located to downtown Evanston, and public transportation. We were able to bike or walk downtown and to nice restaurants and Whole Foods. Being 1/2 mile from the Metra made it easy to get to downtown Chicago for some fun exploration.
This apartment was cozy and quiet, a nice walk to the train to downtown or for us, Wrigley Field! We originally wanted to stay in Wrigleyville but after staying here, my husband wants to buy a summer home in Evanston.
This apartment is perfect. 1) very warm and cozy, 2) much bigger than I looks on site, 3) clean, 4) easy parking, 5) great wireless reception, ) hospitable (owners left eggs, OJ, bread, coffee, tea, bananas etc.. 7) comfortable bed and sheets - very walkable community (much needed after long drive. 8) hot shower etc.. Would absolutely come back - we had three people but 5-6 could fit comfortably.
Just second building west of Ridge Ave from the Monroe St Intersection (Traffic Light and CTA Bus Stop for Howard Red Line and to the Northwestern University Campus); and only 2 blocks south of Main Street. Walk to the Main Street CTA Purple Line and Metra Train Stations. Walk to the Lake and Restaurants and Coffee Shops.
