Fun apartment!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in Ming's Bedford Ave apartment for 15 nights in July and had a ball! Our party consisted of myself and my husband, our two adult daughters and their partners. Each of our daughters and her partner spent some time on the fold-out couch in the living area and, despite this, the apartment felt roomy enough. Ming has a sense of style and we enjoyed her touches. The apartment is in Bedford Ave, a very busy road in Williamsburg so it is lively and quite noisy, but this is part of the New York experience. It was summer when we were there so we often had windows open. There were also two air conditioners which we used. We didn't come to New York to lie around and catch up on sleep! We were there to be out amongst the throngs and the sights, so we were very happy. We found Ming to be lovely and helpful - she quickly sorted out some lights that weren't working and provided extra linen for us. All in all, this apartment and its location were a great experience for all our family.

A moment to relax in NYC

  • 5 of 5

We like this apartment because it is close to all of Williamsburgs' charms, while offering a place to unwind and rest. The subways are fairly close and Vanessa's Dumplings is across the street. The beds are comfortable, the host is accommodating and helpful, the record player with all the records are fun, the kitchen is well staffed…it is more than a perch. Whenever I go to NY I bring earplugs. I don't find this apartment to be particularly noisy at all, but earplugs are just a good thing to pack when coming to NYC.

Too expensive too noisy

  • 2 of 5

Although the owner is very welcoming , and the area nice and trendy , the place does not reach a good standard . It s awfully noisy at nights because of the bars that close very late ( after 1pm ) you can also hear dogs barking as one of the bars is named the lucky dog. Moreover the place was partly dirty when we arrived ( dirty walls and greasy pans ) so it is too high a pricing for this Appartement . The era is interesting and subway is near.

Owner's Response: The comment on cleanness is simply not true, and the comment on noise is one of tolerance and local culture. My house cleaner and I prepare thoroughly to make sure the home is ready for every guest. One of the primary benefits of our unit is that it's on Bedford Ave, the main street of Williamsburg, one of the main areas of NYC culture. As any main street in New York it's by nature not a country get-away. That said, I feel particularly insulted by the negative comments after spending 5 months coordinating their arrival, offering our spacious 2 bedroom home in prime area to their family of five at $235 and still being told it was too expensive, personally receiving her family, texting back and forth during her visit, etc. At no time did I receive these comments. Unfortunately, we have come to the opinion that even after 5 months of effort, the renter and her family were either not prepared for NYC, will never be satisfied by a renter's efforts, and should negotiate with a NYC hotel.

Perfect Williamsburg address!

  • 5 of 5

The neighborhood is exciting and diverse, old mixed with new. Easy access to the city, and to the Willamsburg area. The apartment is big, very well kept, a great spot to relax, like a home away from home.

Wonderful in Williamsburg!

  • 5 of 5

My husband & I, and another couple, shared Ming's beautiful apartment when we were in New york for a wedding. What a wonderful place to stay! beautifully decorated, with everything you need, this apartment makes you feel like a real New Yorker. there are thoughtful touches everywhere, from earplugs in the bathroom (it does get noisy on the street VERY late into the evening if you are staying during 'Open window' season!) to a little Buddha filled with incense. We all LOVED the record player & albums- lovely, relaxing, old school fun! The neighborhood is amazing, with shops, restaurants, and delights just steps from the door. Checking in was easy, beds are very comfortable, and you MUST wander out at night and partake of the food trucks- delish!

The Ideal Brooklyn Getaway

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I stayed here for 6 nights and couldn't have asked for a better location, a more inviting space or more hospitable people to rent from. The owners have a great sense of style and the apartment is beautifully furnished. The bed we slept in was comfortable and despite it's central location in Williamsburg, we had no trouble sleeping.

The space itself would have been enough to earn top marks from us, but the owners' helpfulness was truly meaningful and will be something we'll always be grateful for. From being helpful and flexible around check in and check out, to providing a neighborhood map with their favorite places to eat and explore in Williamsburg, to being available and responsive via phone and email, plus so much more, they truly went out of their way to help us out.

A few other things to highlight:

- They were very accommodating of our well-behaved but very large dog and made us feel at home with him there.

- We started our search for a place to stay in Brooklyn rather late, but compared with the other places we found, the rates are excellent for this combination of location and space.

- There are many small touches that really made us feel like welcome guests, such as a collection of whiskeys we could sample, a record player with some great albums, and fresh flowers upon our arrival.

If you're interested in staying in a fantastic space in the heart of Williamsburg, I can't imagine a better rental than this one.
