I have lived in San Francisco for the past four years and am a huge SF Giants fan! I lived on the Peninsula for a time but am so glad to be back in SF. I attended San Francisco State University and have lived in a number of SF neighborhoods...I believe the Marina is the most beautiful, cleanest and safest neighborhood in the City. I hope you'll enjoy my home and neighborhood as much as I do! Staying here, you'll enjoy a quiet, clean home but I'm always close by in case you need anything. During your visit, I stay in the building in a separate sleeping room providing you with comfort and privacy.
Beth purchased this condo in 1999
Some of the reasons I love this area and why I think you will too: you can walk to the beach and enjoy amazing Crissy Fields beach and promenade, excellent restaurants and bars are a 5-minute walk away on Chestnut Street, Safeway is just a 10-minute walk away. There are great biking paths as well as a movie theater, Apple store, spas and hair/nail salons within minutes from our doorway. Even though all these amenities are nearby, the neighborhood is very quiet and family-friendly. I own this apartment and it is in a building with 5 units total so it is quiet and very clean. Staying here, you'll experience what it's like to live like a true San Franciscan. While you are here, I stay in the building in my separate sleeping room so you have privacy during your stay.
The condo is charming with hardwood floors and a small sun porch at the rear. You can watch ships and sailboats as they sail on the Bay from the front window in the living room-truly beautiful! It is genuine San Francisco living at it's finest. Plus, on foggy evenings, you can hear the gentle sound of the fog horns on the Bay.
Now back in Japan.
Once again I just want to say thank you for letting us stay at your wonderful apartment. Everything was just perfect. Nice Walk to Fisherman's wharf, bus stop was very close, easily to find parking space, in front of your house was our favorite spot to park, it was easy access to do things from your apartment. We enjoyed very much!!!
And....So sorry to wake you up early in the morning of our departure on May 2nd. We weren't sure if the alarm was just an alarm.....thank you for your help.
Hope to be back soon!
All pictures and statements about this property are accurate. It's a delight to sit at the table in front of the window and see Alcatraz, watch the fog lift over Marin, and then late in the day come back in. The apartment is literally one block to Marina Green and a short walk along the water to many different places, such as Crissy Field and Fisherman's Wharf. It was amazing to be so close to Marina Green yet the apartment was so quiet and calm. The Safeway is 10 minutes away as are lots of restaurants in the other direction on Chestnut street. The apartment was immaculately clean and very comfortable, even for those of us with bad backs. The king-size bed was comfortable and the linens and towels first class. The internet worked flawlessly. I would stay there again the next time in SF. The owners are accommodating and available to answer any questions, but the apartment was just as we expected so I had no questions.
This beautifully appointed one-bedroom flat is the perfect place to stay in San Francisco. There is a Safeway within walking distance; Chestnut Street is a few blocks away, brimming with fantastic restaurants and boutiques. Out the front door is the Marina, with stunning views both of the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz. And less than a mile away is the Presidio, with its free shuttle to downtown SF running periodically.
Beth and John were wonderful hosts, ensuring we had all we needed, yet giving us the space to have our experience. Needless to say, when we come back to the City by the Bay, this is the place we'll stay.
A wonderful location and very comfortable accommodations. My husband and I enjoyed every moment of our vacation. We look forward to our next trip.
Very nice place to stay, located very close to the bay. All equiped appartment. No hassle for the reservation.
Conveniently located apt., just 1 block away from the marina and well within walking distance to the Golden Gate Bridge, many fine eateries, markets, and shops. No need for a car. You can walk or take the bus. John was responsive to my requests and needs. The apt. was very clean and quiet. However, the owners would do well to replace the torn curtain in the bedroom, all of the bedding, worn carpet pieces, and to repair the electrical in the bedroom closet.
We spent 5 nights in this beautiful condo and easily got around town to see all the sights with just the 3-day Transit Visitor pass. The 22 bus stops just around the corner and the marina is only a block away. We rented bikes a short walk away and did a loop over the Golden Gate Bridge, down into Sausalito, onto the ferry to the Ferry Building and back to Fort Mason to drop the bikes back. Chestnut St. with it shops, many terrific restaurants (we loved Blackwood Grill and Isa) and movie theatres is less than a 10 minute walk. The Marina Safeway grocery is less than 10 minutes the other way and has a nice deli.
The condo is comfortable and quiet. Loved the view! This is a great place to stay while in San Francisco.
The condo is in the Marina just one half a block away from the beach. The Marina District is one of the most upscale and desirable neighborhoods in the City. Crissy Fields Beach is absolutely beautiful and includes a promenade which runs along the beach with stunning views of the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz Island, bike paths, picnic areas with BBQ's, lunch and coffee spots and pier fishing. You can also walk to the Palace of the Fine Arts (about a 10 minute walk) the Powell Street Cable Car pick up station and Fisherman's Wharf. Chestnut Street is a 5 minute walk away which has outstanding restaurants, cool bars, a movie theater and both boutique clothing stores and global brands. Trendy Union Street is a 15 minute walk away and has world-class shopping, restaurants, bars and personal services. Pier 39 is also within walking distance- about a 25 minute walk. You can rent bicycles and enjoy a scenic bike ride. Just head to the Marina Green, about 1 minute from the front door, and enjoy safe and wide bike lanes with no traffic to deal with. You can bike into the Crissy Field National Park (The largest natural city park in the U.S.) and ride along the beach right to the Golden Gate Bridge. Bicycles are on one side of the Golden Gate Bridge and pedestrains are on the other for safety and enjoyment. Walking or riding your bike across the Golden Gate Bridge is an absolute must do experience! One of my favorite day trips is to bike across the Golden Gate Bridge and ride into Sausalito. Have lunch in Sausalito which is a beautiful city full of great restaurants and art galleries. Then catch an afternoon ferry from Sausalito back over to San Francisco. You just park your bikes right on the ferry and enjoy a mini-cruise on the San Francisco Bay.
