Two bedroom, two bathroom with CENTRAL A/C. Only steps away from the beach!

ENJOY the SUN , BEACH and POOL when you stay in our Unit at Colony Cove, centrally located on the North Shore. There are two things you should know about our condo -- it has CENTRAL A/C and NO STEPS TO CLIMB -- it is located on the first floor! The unit has TWO BEDROOMS, TWO BATHS and has ALL THE AMENITIES OF HOME including washer/dryer, three TV's, DVD/VCR player with some movies, board games, books, snorkeling gear, free WIFI, linens and towels, electric sweeper, and a FULLY EQUIPPED kitchen with a reverse osmosis system so you can drink pure, clean water right from the kitchen sink! The condo complex is gated and has 24 security. Our condo is fabulous for relaxing on the large SHADED PATIO with a BEAUTIFUL VIEW of the luscious gardens. Feel free to pick fresh herbs from the garden such as parsley and rosemary to use if you choose to make dinner!

Take a few steps out the door and you will find yourself at the sandy beach or at the fresh water pool. 'Long Reef' is about 2 miles long!!!! It provides TRANQUIL WATERS AND BEACH FOR SMALL CHILDREN. SNORKEL or SCUBA DIVE right off the beach in this VAST REEF PROTECTED BEACH/COVE. A variety of habitat zones exist where you'll see tropical fish, rays, turtles, coral, conch, lobster, starfish and on and on......

GROCERY SHOPPING is nearby at Pueblos or Food Town. You can take advantage of the GAS OR CHARCOAL GRILL located by the pool. TWO RESTARUANTS ARE WITHIN WALKING DISTANCE from Colony Cove. The Golden Rail Cafe is located right next door and offers great food and live entertainment. Breezes is a short walk down the beach and the food is excellent.

The town of Christiansted is 1.5 miles to the east and accessible by walking, taxi or rental car. The boardwalk overlooks Christiansted harbor and is a nice place to have breakfast, lunch, or dinner. There are also many specialty shops including local crafts, clothing, jewelry and more. Make sure you try your luck at the crab races! We have been taking our kids to the crab races since 2005. It is still the very first thing they ask to do upon our arrival.

St. Croix offers a variety of outdoor activities. Enjoy the beach/pool at Colony Cove or the numerous beaches around the island. Take a trip west to the rainforest for a horseback riding adventure. Drive to the town of Frederiksted and tour Fort Frederik, do some shopping, fish at the pier (bring your swimsuit and jump off the pier if you have the guts, stairs are provided), and enjoy the white sandy beaches. There is a Casino on the island, golf courses, as well as miniature golf. See an island show, take a seaplane to St. Thomas or St. John for the day, or sail to Buck Island, a famous national underwater park. The Wall at Cane Bay has some of the best snorkeling and shore diving in the world. You can also take a kayak tour, ATV ride, jeep tour, go deep sea fishing, sailing, parasailing, surfing, hiking, and much more. Visit the Botantical Gardens and the Rum Distillery.

When you arrive at the airport make sure you pick up a copy of 'St. Croix This Week'.

About Kim Ylisela

We bought this property in 2004 before our first child was born. My husband and I love traveling and we knew we didnt want to stop after the birth of our child. We also knew it would be more difficult to travel with children and we wanted the security of a tropical paradise within the USA. So, St. Croix is our second home now and many happy memories are being made!

Beautiful beach, gardens and pool. Stores and restaurants within walking distance. Unit is on the first floor -- much easier access when you have two small children! Unlike the majority of the condos, our unit has CENTRAL A/C (my husband installed it, he is a master A/C mechanic).

What makes this condo unique

Return home after a hot day in the sun and turn on the central a/c! No need to spend money on bottled water. We have a reverse osmosis water system in our condo which will provide you with plenty of clean drinking water!

We had a wonderful time in paradise and hated to come home to the snow. The weather was perfect.. nice and warm. The place was nice and clean and well stocked with plates , pans and cooking utensils.

You asked if there were any suggestions.. we like to go to different beaches while we are there maybe a couple of beach chairs would be helpful to your other renters as well. Sandy Point and Ha'Penny are beautiful sandy beaches with pretty crystal waters but you really need a chair to relax on them. That would be are only suggestion. You have your place well stocked and comfortable.



The staff came and did a nice job of tiling the gallery. The guys are great, they take pride in the work that they do at Colony Cove. They were doing nice work around the grounds with the plants and the trees. It is always a pleasure to come back to the Island each year. Thank you, Drew & Sue

A Gem of a Condo

We needed a place in St Croix for a week and we had never been to STX. We found this gem of a condo that met all of our needs. It is a two bedroom, two bath unit on the ground floor. The gallery, what we would think of as a private patio was an added plus with lounging chairs and outdoor dining. Since it is at the end of the complex, there wasn’t any traffic or many pedestrians coming past.

The full kitchen was just what we needed. There was an outdoor grill available which we used on several occasions. We try to cook at home most of the time to save money. It works for us.

The fresh water pool is a short walk across the courtyard. It too was clean, in good repair and very comfortable. Be careful, the tile in the bottom of the pool is very slippery. A non-swimmer could slip and have trouble regaining their footing.

Just beyond the pool is the gate leading to Sugar Beach. although we did not use the beach, it looked like there might be some good snorkeling.

The location is very good. It is a couple of blocks from a main highway, Northside Road, which will get you to most places on the island. We needed to get to Christiansted for the dive shop several days. This condo is only ten or fifteen minutes away. There is a grocery store less than five minutes away in one direction and less than ten minutes away in the other direction.

We are hoping to come back next year.

Island paradise

It was our first time to be away for the winter. We spent 3 months at Colony Cove and enjoyed every minute of it. The condo was clean, well supplied, and we loved the first floor/no steps access. The maintenance crew did a great job of keeping the grounds, pool area, and beach clean and looking nice. And they always greated us with a friendly "Hello". If we had a question about the condo, we were able to email the owners and they got back to us quickly. They also let us know about things going on at the condo. We enjoyed visiting Point Udall, touring the forts, visiting the historical sites, driving through the rain forest, going on fishing charters, walking on the beach, eating at the unique eateries, etc. It's a very relaxing, non-commercialized island with super friendly people. If you are looking for a GREAT vacation spot, you can't beat Colony Cove on St. Croix VI.

Great place to stay!

The island is amazing- There are so many things to do and see! We stayed for two weeks and enjoyed it very much. It is clean and comfy and roomy enough for our family of four. Fully stocked with everything you could need. The location is great! It is at five corners (princess) in Christiansted and close to everything. The view from the covered patio is to die for- it looks out onto the garden in the courtyard with views of the carribean ocean. It is a gated complex and feels secure. Our kids could play outside without any worries. Other kids and friendly neighbors make the pool the kids' favorite spot. The condo is decorated tastefully and comfortably. We would definitely reccomend this rental to friends!!

Best trip ever and accommodations were perfect

Subjective: Clean, well appointed decor, every item needed for a vaca condo is present: extra linens, water toys, snorkeling gear, etc. Kitchen includes pots and pans, blender, crock pot, tableware, coffee pot, filters, spices. TV's in each bedroom and living room. Objective: Outstanding/timely communication with owner. Kim, the owner, provides a number where she can be reached at anytime. Beach front property, first floor, easy parking, gated community, lush grounds, well maintained condo and condo complex. Perfect pool and pool area. Helpful condo complex management team...can't say enough great thing about Kevin, Charles, and Ray. Assessment: Best condo on the island for the price and amenities. Plan: Can't wait for our next trip, we will be staying at this condo!

A Slice of Paradise !!

I am so happy to be writing a review for this condo!! My husband and I have stayed here three times over the past 6 years. We absolutely love it and we fall more in love with the island each time we visit!!

Walking into the door of the condo we feel like we are "home." The accommodations are perfect for our stay, and everything is so welcoming...from the decor to the thoughtfulness of a well-stocked kitchen, linens, towels, and a washer/dryer set!! We are so thankful for how clean and well maintained everything is. EVERYTHING WORKS!! It is great to know the t.v., the blender, the a/c, the washer/dryer is all so dependable, it makes our stay even more relaxing! The other thing that is very important to us is the security--it is a gated community with cameras and a security guard. Just another reason we enjoy staying at Colony by the Sea!

My favorite part of the condo is the gallery--I love to get up early and have a cup of tea out on the patio. The gardens are so peaceful and the view is like Paradise!! Then we usually head to the beach and just soak up the sun and all the gorgeous surroundings. We LOVE to see the island with all of its beauty--there are great shops close by and we have even taken day trips to St.Thomas. The restaurants on St.Croix are the BEST, and the nights we stay in, we can easily prepare our own meals.

There are so many fun things to do on St.Croix from snorkeling to sightseeing through the rainforest, jazz concerts in Frederickstead , taking a sunset cruise or just driving out to Point Udall (the eastern most point of the U.S.). Our FAVORITE thing to do is just relax on the beach, sipping a fun drink and looking forward to a romantic dinner for two. The water is absolutely gorgeous and we discover a new beach every time we go.

We cannot thank the owners enough for such a beautiful and comfortable home-away-from-home!!! The cleanliness, maintenance and the security really help to make our stay over the top. We also enjoy the pool as it is a refreshing change in the late afternoon.

St.Croix is the perfect place to go and do as much or as little as you want, and this particular condo is our # 1 choice for location, comfort and feeling "tucked back" without being totally secluded. Each time has been such a blessing and full of wonderful memories!! We only hope to go back soon---St.Croix is calling

Rates are for double occupancy (2 persons). Additional occupants will be charged $5.00 per day, per person for adult guests (18 years and over). There is no charge for children (17 years and younger).

Weekly rentals include a $75.00 utility allowance. If you are conservative with your utilities there should be no additional charge. If you are staying for longer than a week, utilities are the renters responsibility. Meter readings are read before your arrival and after your departure to determine utility usage. Details will be outlined in the rental agreement.

We like to keep our condo very clean for our guests. In order to keep this standard of cleaning, we have our condo cleaned after each guest departs. The charge for cleaning is $150.00. This fee will be added to your rental fee. Have questions? Please email and/or call and ask!!
