About Steven Milliken

I grew up in Eastham and live just down the road. I love the Cape and it’s beauty. The scenic outlooks, beaches and the ocean. I enjoy nature and love to visit natural habitats with its wildlife. While growing up I worked on party fishing boats and then later became a captain running boats. A lifetime on the sea I go whale watching with the Dolphin Fleet and do this to this day. I love the water and often go boating privately and go diving for lobsters or just for fun. I travel when I can and enjoy spending time with my family when possible.

Steven Milliken purchased this townhome in 2011

Why Steven Milliken chose Cape Cod

The property was once owned by my family in the 1800’s as a farm and then later sold. A motel was built. Over time it was bought and sold until one day it was torn down and was going to become a large condominium complex. I hope to someday pass this on to family members returning it back to the family to enjoy.

I had the opportunity to buy the property and stop it from what I thought would not be in the local communities interest, (who wants a bunch of condos in a small quiet town?) so I purchased the property and finished off the first part of the property. I would like to add to the property something that would benefit the town and keep a country look for this location while giving renters a one of a kind experience while staying here, giving a Cape feeling but with a modern, luxurious comfort for the tenant.

What makes this townhome unique

The property is centrally located in Eastham 2470 route 6 (as well as Cape Cod). Multiple beaches are with 4-5 minutes of the house. This includes the many bay beaches, 2 ocean beaches (known as some of the top 10 beaches in the world) as well as a few ponds. (All good for swimming and fishing) The windmill is located right across the street. During the summer there are multiple events from live music (ends at 8pm) to craft shows. They are family oriented and free for the general public. 2 local stores, a deli, library, post office as well bus stop all within walking distance. Also within ½ mile is the bike trail (Cape Cod rail trail) and national seashore visitor center (exhibits, walking and bike trails) both Chatham and Provincetown are about 20-30 minutes away (20-25 miles). The house itself is new in 2012 and exquisite for Eastham, it has a bright, enriching Cape Cod beach feel but with the luxury of modern needs, with central air, wifi and full kitchen to cheery rooms each with modern flat screen tv/ dvd players. Just compare properties and see for yourself, although being a little bias I think one of the nicest rentals in Eastham!

Great place to stay

  • 4 of 5

Property is in good condition. Steve was very responsive to our requests. Washer and Dryer was a huge help for a family of 4 plus a baby. The only reason I don't give 5 stars is because property is located on Route 6 which has a lot of traffic so you have to be use precaution when you turn left (car).

Wonderful property

  • 4 of 5

We just returned from a wonderful week in Cape Cod. Eastham is located for easy access to Provincetown or the Chatham area. One can walk to the Visitor Center at Cape Cod National Seashore. Walking trails and other recreational activities abound. The property is great. Every thing one could want is available. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and could not have asked for better accommodations. Being right on Route 6 is an advantage that outweighs any street noise that some reviewers have mentioned.might bother some. We would not hesitate to rebook the property.

Very Nice House

  • 4 of 5

We stayed here for a week. It had everything shown in the listing, washer dryer, dish washer ect, everything was in excellent condition. The house is lovely, well constructed, clean, bright, homey, very well taken care of. Nicer than the pictures show, great house. The only thing I didn't like is that it is located on a busy section of 6. The traffic is very loud and you can hear it inside the house. On the other hand the house is in a good location, close to the beaches, bike path and not far from Wellfleet and Orleans. Overall, I would highly recommend this house.

Adequate Vacation Rental, Very Clean, Nice furnishings, No Linens

  • 2 of 5

Our group included 4 adults, and there was plenty of space for all of us. The property owner did not send us the property address until less than 48 hours before our arrival, which caused some stress for us, as we were not sure we would be able to access the home. If this is the owner's policy, we think it should be made clear at the time of booking. Also, there were no towels or sheets for any of the beds. We think this should also be made clear at booking. When I contacted the owner, he told me he would look into a rental service for linens, but I never heard back. There are no big box stores nearby, so one of our party picked up sheets and towels near Boston, which was pretty inconvenient. We ended up leaving the linens behind, because it didn't make sense to fly them back home. Again, if this is the policy, it should just be made clear to guests in advance. The home itself was quite nice, with nice furnishings, and it was very clean. As it is directly off the highway, there is quite a bit of street noise. The lot of the property is also strange-- looks like lots of foundations that were never developed any further. The gazebo was not secured and mostly falling over during our stay, so we would not consider it usable. All in all, it was an adequate experience, and attention to a few details could have made it a lot better.

Owner's Response: Hi Sarah Sorry you didn't realize you needed linens,i did the best i could for you with that matter. it is stated in the agreement and also shows on the vrbo site that they are not included. I'm quite surprised you felt the way you did and wish there was more i could have done to make your stay better. With all my guest I do my best to make them comfortable and feel at home. Sorry your stay was not to your expectations most feel quite the opposite. Sincerely Steven Milliken
