Stone Harbor Cottage Rental Photos and Description

3 bedroom, 2 bath cottage 2-3 blocks from the beach and town

Clean and comfortable second floor home has 3 bedrooms (king size bed, queen size bed, and twin beds) and 2 bathrooms. We have brand new living room furniture this year. This is the 2nd summer for our new deck with a table, chairs, and umbrella available for outside dining. A kitchen with island and two year old refrigerator with ice maker opens into an inviting family room area complete with flat screen tv and room to play any of the large selection of movies and games. A separate dining area gets bright morning sun.

There is a washer and dryer, as well as the following appliances all new in the last few years - dishwasher, blender, toaster, microwave, and coffee maker. Cleaning, 6 beach tags, and 6 beach chairs are included in the price.

The outside shower with divided changing area is perfect for cleaning off after a day at the beach. Chairs, bikes, umbrellas, etc can be stored on the right side of the two car garage at the back of the property. A gas grill is also available in the garage for our guests.

About Erin Friday (email) or Tricia Morse (phone)

My husband and I each had a parent who worked on Seven Mile Island (Avalon/Stone Harbor) in high school. They were so taken by the beautiful town of Stone Harbor that they brought their families back here to vacation when they could. We grew up with Stone Harbor traditions like searching for shells at the Point and ice cream at Springers.

After graduation from college, my husband and I met in a shore house on Seven Mile Island and got engaged on the back deck of our rental house the following year. When we had children, we wanted to share with them all of the wonderful summer experiences that we had growing up. We have often vacationed here with other families to share with them the perfect beach get away.

We looked for many years to find the right place to call our home and couldn't be happier with the perfect location and amenities that you'll find if you come for a visit. We're happy to share our home with you and hope you make the same wonderful memories of Stone Harbor that we have created with our family.

Why Erin Friday (email) or Tricia Morse (phone) chose South NJ Shore

We looked for many years for a space that would be large enough to comfortably fit our family. We looked at many South Jersey shore towns but couldn't imagine wanting to live anywhere other than Stone Harbor. It is the right mix of family attractions and nightlife. It is close to the Atlantic City casinos and the Ocean City and Wildwood Boardwalks without being next door to them. It is a relaxing town with friendly people.

The reason we picked this particular property is because it was clean, comfortably furnished, and the BEST location on the island. We are so close to everything that we usually park the car for the week and never need to get back in it until it's time to go home.

What makes this cottage unique

Enjoy the cool breezes on the back deck and the quiet of the residential neighborhood surroundings. The beds and couches are comfortable and the open kitchen area is perfect for gathering your group to eat or play.

Weekend wedding getaway

  • 5 of 5

Had the pleasure of staying in the Friday's home for the weekend of 4/15-4/16/16. Had a wedding at the reeds for co-workers. Needless to say we figured out quickly that it would be far more affordable to rent a property vs staying in a hotel, especially The Reeds, where the wedding was. The 2nd floor duplex was perfect we split it with 3 other couples, very comfortable and clean property. Sadly I was sick the whole weekend for the wedding but having our how house made it nice and quite for my convalescing. This property is a quick walk to stone harbor downtown, the beach, etc. During the height of summer fun this house would be in a very nice spot almost completely negating the need for a car. It is a second floor property with stairs only. However there is a wonderful deck that has views of the bayside. We had a great time and enjoyed our weekend away.

Terrific visit to the Jersey Shore in the off-season! The second floor apartment was everything we expected - homey, convenient to beach, bay & downtown Stone Harbor.

From the Stone Harbor Chamber of Commerce: '...enjoy visiting our seashore resort on beautiful Seven Mile Island of the Jersey Cape. Bordered on the East by the Atlantic Ocean and on the West by the Intercoastal Waterway, Stone Harbor offers wonderful opportunities for family vacation fun. During your stay in Stone Harbor, you will be impressed with our small town charm, with our quaint shopping district, and with our area’s exceptional restaurants. It’s a town you’ll tell your friends about ... It’s a town you’ll remember and want to return to.'

From Mapquest: 'Stone Harbor is a borough in Cape May County, New Jersey, United States. It is part of the Ocean City Metropolitan Statistical Area. It shares the barrier island Seven Mile Island with its northern neighbor Avalon. Development began in the late 19th century as a beach resort along the West Jersey and Seashore Railroad line which was replaced by a traffic island in 1932 along the length of Second Avenue. It continues as a resort community for visitors enjoying beaches and a thriving commercial center centered along 96th Street and 2nd Avenue, bringing in a summer population in excess of 20,000. As of the 2000 United States Census, the borough had a year-round population of 1,128.

In 2006, Forbes magazine ranked Stone Harbor (08247) as #47 on its list of the most expensive zip codes in the United States, based on median home sale prices. As of 2001, Worth Magazine put Stone Harbor at #101 on its list of the Richest Towns in America, which was based on median annual real estate prices. Most vacationers come from New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New York, Connecticut, Maryland, Delaware, and Quebec. It was ranked the tenth best beach in New Jersey in the 2008 Top 10 Beaches Contest sponsored by the New Jersey Marine Sciences Consortium.

Stone Harbor was incorporated as a borough by an Act of the New Jersey Legislature on April 3, 1914, from portions of Middle Township, based on the results of a referendum held on April 28, 1914. The borough gained a portion of Avalon on December 27, 1941.'
