The perfect well needed quiet getaway.
We couldn’t have asked for anything more of what we were requiring to experience. We were looking for a quiet reset with time spending with our 2 kids. Even with actinf up weather all week we still had a blast. With the back drop of the lake and the start of the adirondack mountains, there was no lack of scenery. We had some moonlit nights and with the reflection on the lake and the loons singing, it was a remarkable experience. Looked forward to coffee every morning with the cool air and still waters with the occasional fish leaping completely out of the water. The cabin was perfect and well kept. Will definitely consider coming back. Thanks Chris and Tina.
Loon Song was the perfect place for us
Loon Song Cottage is the place we would love to return to in the future. It was well equipped and very clean. The lake is clear and swimming off the dock was such fun. We enjoyed a day of kayaking around West Caroga and over to the East Lake. Hiking trails are close by and the hike to the Fire Tower will not disappoint - the views were beautiful.
The covered deck was our favorite place to eat, read, relax and watch the Loons on the lake. There were beautiful lake views from every room.
A wonderful treasure in the Southern ADK.
Peaceful, lovely, great family getaway!
This house is super comfortable and the owners could not be more accommodating! (Thank you Chris and Tina!)
First of all, I have stayed in many vacation rentals and hotels in our family travels - none as comfortable as this one. It is a clean, dry, cozy home with spectacular views of the lake. My favorite place to sit, whether with coffee, a book, a glass of wine, or dinner - was the covered porch overlooking the lake. The beds were really comfortable - we all slept well! The kitchen is fully outfitted and we put the outdoor grill to plenty of use as well.
Secondly, we had loads of fun. Jumping off the end of the dock, taking the kayaks out, floating around in tubes, hiking the nearby trails, getting great chicken wings at The 19th Hole, or ice cream from The Perfect Scoop ... this filled our whole week. We had intentions of doing some day trips to Cooperstown, Great Escape, Lake George - but we just ended staying in the area and having a wonderful time!
We were told by various people that we were situated in a great part of the lake. It is a quiet little cove with deep water just a little ways out. Many pontooners would anchor in this cove to jump in the water. We saw some jet skiers and water skiers but it was not a nuisance at all. Our favorite moments were the loon calls at dusk and the quiet STARRY nights!! And I was always up early to see the lake a dawn - beautiful!
Needless to say, I recommend the place, It was perfect for my family of 5. Our 3 kids - ages 13, 12, and 7 - loved it.
The Perfect Lake Escape
My friends and I had such a WONDERFUL week at the Loon Lake Cottage. The house itself is absolutely charming and cozy. We had some bad rain a couple days, so the covered porch was incredible to sit out on and look at the view. The direct lake access was fantastic as we used the kayak and even swam in the lake right off the dock. The fire pit outside was also great. Chris and Tina met us as we arrived and were so nice showing us the house. The name of the house also met up to expectations and we saw the Loons almost every day, and heard them late into the evening making their calls. I had never heard them before so it was a great experience. I think the only downside of the house was there was only 1 shower for the 6 of us, but we made it work. The house itself was very clean and comfortable. Overall it was a lovely vacation.
Picture perfect getaway
I can’t say enough wonderful things about the Loon Song Cottage! The house had everything we needed for our stay with our 4 young children. The cottage was clean and tastefully decorated, the view was absolutely spectacular and the owners were absolutely lovely and a pleasure to deal with! We especially enjoyed coffee on the covered porch, grilling dinner and eating on the picnic table followed with S’mores over by the fire pit! We saw shooting stars and heard the loons sing at night. My husband had a great round at Nick Stoner and the kids loved hiking the nine lake trail. If you are looking for a peaceful retreat, this place delivers! Looking forward to coming again next year!
Very nice cabin on a lovely lake
A special thank you to our kind and attentive hosts staying in the house next door! We loved getting up early in the morning to kayak on the lake before any other boats or jet skis were out. And it was a very nice lake to swim in after going hiking -- some very nice hikes within a 25-45 minute drive along almost-deserted roads despite it being the high summer season. Cooperstown about an hour away and we loved that day trip as well. Spent most of our time in the house on the porch overlooking the lake. And the one bed we slept was, as others have noted, very comfortable. Thank you to Chris and Tina!
