BEWARE!! Worst experience
Rented for my 45 year old cousins and their 19 year old daughter for my wedding. I had to move them out immediately from this rental suite. I’m absolutely appalled with what I have learned about their stay. Sue’s husband barged into their suite, randomly, saying he was conducting a “wellness check” and would not leave the unit for over 10 minutes. He smelled of alcohol, completely drunk and my little cousin was in the shower and he would not leave the apartment. He asked questioned that were inappropriate, not only towards my male cousin, but my female cousin as well. These comments and questions are concerning for future renters. That is completely unacceptable and disgusting.
My cousins felt unsafe the entire time but stayed one day only because it was my wedding and they didn’t want to stress me out. I will tell you right now I am beyond stressed out and furious with how they were treated and how unsafe they felt.
Again, I moved them to another rental costing additional money because Sue’s husband ruined their experience. This behavior is completely unacceptable.
I spoke with the folks at Homeaway about how to handle these false allegations and they encouraged me to respond to this completely inaccurate review. Leigh Anne did not even stay at my rental. In fact she booked it for her 2 adult cousins and 4 people actually stayed. (not a big deal in the scheme of things) They left us a lovely note in our guest book. I am not sure of the motivation other than they wanted money refunded. Please check out the rest of our reviews.
We had a fantastic weekend enjoying a Cub game and exploring the city. Susan was very accommodating and an excellent host. The area has great restaurants and coffee houses to enjoy. We hope to find our way back again next year.
Great location, perfect hosts
This is a true apartment experience with a well-equipped kitchen, access to laundry, and basic amenities like coffee and condiments. Sue and Keith are great and made our stay effortless and fun. They welcome their guests into their backyard and provide a warm, engaging experience.
The building is located one block adjacent to the heart of Andersonville, so is walking-distance to some of the best neighborhood bars and restaurants in the city. It’s quiet though and the only sounds you hear are that of the city itself. Transit is easy on the Clark and Damen busses.
This is also the cleanest pet-friendly short-term rental I’ve stayed in: Very comfortable.
Great neighborhood and host
Susan was very responsive and accommodating even when we couldn’t get into the lockbox on a rainy afternoon evening! Nice addition of washer and dryer which I don’t remember being listed. My son loved the Beatles memorabilia wall! Wonderful shopping area on Clark with local artist gallery of beautiful items for sale
Nice spot, place was very clean and cozy, and owners couldn’t have been any nicer!! Wish we wouldn’t have been so busy in our short stay because they even invited our family to sit outside on the patio and eat dinner with them. They were awesome people definitely would recommend this place to anyone coming to the area. Thanks again.
