Hothouse Creek is perfect for a romantic/rustic or a peaceful fishing getaway.
Enjoy the clean mountain air, pure fresh water of Hothouse Creek and actually see the stars clearly at night while listening to the sounds of rushing water.
Fish from the deck in our trout stream or relax in our two person hot tub. Want a fire? Relax by our outdoor fire pit or curl up on the couch with a glass of wine next to the gas fireplace.
If your family is like mine, the boys stay and fish and us girls head to Blue Ridge to shop and sip wine. Relax
Hothouse Creek sleeps up to 5 people and is the perfect rustic getaway for those that love to fish or just relax.
This cabin has been apart of our family for three generations. My husband and his father purchased this cabin as a fishing retreat in the 90s. They spent many of summers wading and fishing this small native trout creek. This fishing legacy has been passed to my children. They have learned to swim, fish, and raft in the Hot House Creek. We also have a family pet, Buttercup, lab mix that enjoys the fresh clear water just as much as the kids. (My husband and I are both educators and value outdoor living with our children.)

A trip to Hot House Creek cabin is relaxation at its best. The namesake creek is a beautiful wide stream—the sound of its rushing water dominates the environment from the moment you get out of the car until you reluctantly get back in to end your vacation. My friends and I spent most of our time on the deck reveling in the sound. The recent addition of a hot tub only makes that experience even more blissful, especially at night. There is also an outdoor heater and gas grill on the deck so you can fully enjoy all of this in any season. Additionally, there is a nearby firepit for the perfect s’more and roasted hot dog.
Inside there are ample accommodations for a group—we were a band of six and had our own beds and minimal bathroom sharing with two large lavatories, one upstairs and the other down. The cabin was recently renovated to allow for more guests and comfort. The kitchen is fully supplied with all the cooking gear you will need to have wonderful group meals. A gas fireplace sets the perfect indoor evening atmosphere for conversation, music, games—whatever your pleasure. Between the fireplace and the gas heater peaceful sleep was had by all—I opened the upstairs door slightly so I could continue enjoying the sounds of the Creek throughout the night.
There are lots of wonderful options nearby for any interest. We loved hiking on the Appalachian Trial near Noontootla Creek and Long Falls as well as wandering through the charming town of Blue Ridge. You can also catch the Blue Ridge Railway downtown for a beautiful trip through the surrounding countryside. Mercer Orchards is a short drive for every type of apple product imaginable. The cabin is also close enough to the Ocoee River for paddlers and rafters to enjoy a full day on the river. Perhaps not as scenic but nonetheless essential is a new nearby Engel's Grocery for everything you need for the perfect stay.
Believe me, once you stay in Hot House Creek cabin you will want to return during all seasons to enjoy everything it and the surrounding area has to offer!
The cabin is absolutely lovely, feels like a trip back in time to a rustic cabin on a stunning creek--but with every amenity & refined detail. You can tell Debra & her family love & have cared beautifully for it. The creek can be admired from the spacious deck that sits just above it, & heard even in the main bedroom, which is spacious & cozy, filled with windows & light. The full kitchen is a joy to cook in, the fireplace lovely on a chilly evening. And the washer & dryer a big plus after a day of muddy fishing!
There is a feeling of peace here that is hard to find anywhere in the world these days. Set well off the main road, the only cars that pass are those few on the private road. You can walk a long way up & downhill on this lovely road, with great vistas of the creek & mountains. Perfect for nature lovers--& of course for fishermen!
Debra was thoughtful & always helpful with information, a very gracious host. Thank you so much, Debra for preserving the beauty of this cabin & for your lovely modern expansion of it as well.
Thank you for allowing us to share your home. The gurgling creek was very soothing and the mountain air was very refreshing. The cabin was very accomdating to our needs and located in a beautiful spot. .we enjoyed our stay very much .Thank you once again.
My wife and I rented the cabin for a week and had a great time. Our 12 yr. old son brought two of his friends and they couldn't have been happier. The cabin was quite comfortable. We enjoyed the privacy. We felt we had the natural surroundings all to ourselves. It was a short drive to all the things we wanted to do.
We also brought our dog who enjoyed it very much.
Two weeks of joy. Loved the running water at your door step. White water rafting was great. Everything worked in the cabin. Still looking for the dish washer, but found my grand son to do the job. two weeks with two teenage grand kids would normally drive me nuts (Grumpy) but not at this cabin, became a very happy person. Lots to do with the kids who wanted to do something different everyday, this area has it. This will become my home away from home. Lynn L.L.
Nature everywhere you look (deer ,rabbits, wild turkeys, birds, fish trout caught from deck of cabin . Just beautiful. Took my 11 yr old daughter and 16 yr old son who loved it ,but did miss there electronics and phone service. I think it was a good experience for them to be without it. My husband fished almost every day. We did so much and a lot of relaxing at the cabin with the outdoor fire places and hot tub. We ate almost every meal on the deck. Fell asleep to the flow of the river every night. My Chihuahua was also the happiest I have seen him at any rental we have every been to and he hates to leave home.Hope to rent cabin again in future for our family vacations. So for it was 1 of the best cabins I have rented in that area so far at a reasonable price. Thanks for sharing your cabin:)
My husband and I had a great stay at this cabin! It is secluded enough to feel all the peacefulness of the surrounding nature but still just a short 15 minute drive to downtown blue ridge! We loved that horse shoe bend park was just a 5 minute drive and it was so nice at night time to sleep with a window open and listen to the river every night. We personally loved that our cell phones had no service or Internet access because you were able to completely disconnect from the rest of the world and just relax. We enjoyed rafting at the tocoa river camp ground, hiking to some local waterfalls, and cooling off in the river! Thank you for sharing your relaxing and rustic retreat for us! We had a great time!
