This is a remodeled 100 year old craftsman style cottage with careful attention to privacy, quiet, and elegant simplicity. The kitchen and dining room have wonderful sun with windows facing a long hedge of flowering fuchsias. A cozy living room with a glass fronted woodstove invites quiet time for reflection and contemplation.
The master bedroom has an eco-friendly king size bed that has provided exceptional restful sleep. An adjoining spacious bathroom is equipped with dual vanities and a modern version of the classic bathtub.
The second bathroom has a great shower and custom woodwork matching that in the kitchen. New kitchen appliances include a stove and microwave. The large front loading clothes washing machine and dryer are in a separate, convenient laundry room.
Two dormer bedrooms upstairs have great windows. One is now equipped with a futon.
A large outdoor deck wraps around the house. The yard includes a flowering garden and meadow enclosed by a tall cedar fence providing privacy and abundant room for outdoor living.
I've long admired the Craftsman style of living. Woodwork, simplicity, and attention to simple detail have inspired me as an antidote to modern living.
Jon purchased this cottage in 2005
Friends purchased a house in Coos Bay and found this nearby for our family. We have carefully restored and enhanced this cottage and now hope to find folks that will appreciate its uncommon benefits.

We loved this quaint cottage! It had everything we needed and more! It's kid friendly except for the stairs but you can close the door. So nice having a washer and dryer with kids. The home was clean and cozy and had nice beds and linens. The wood stove was wonderful on one of our chilly nice. The owner is super nice & is just across the street if you need anything. The deck and yard would have been wonderful to enjoy if the weather had been nice. I highly recommend this home!
Our group (3 people) stayed here for 1 night, and loved it! The house has been completely renovated, has 3 comfortable bedrooms, spacious backyard and deck, and every accommodation you could think of. The best part-the extremely comfortable mattresses! The kitchen has everything you need to make all meals and the location is in a quiet area of Coos Bay. Overall, this was a wonderful place to relax whether you are staying in Coos Bay for work or vacation. Thanks Jon!
I love this house. We were able to take our dogs, which was a requirement, as my sis and I have two well behaved dogs.
The house decorated beautifully and very peaceful. It's close to the beautiful park and downtown.
Jon has had a lot of work done to the house, and it's so comfortable with lots of room. My brother, sister, and I stayed there for three nights. I will definitly stay here again. Jon's rate is very reasonable and well worth it. We all had our own bedrooms and the beds were extremely comfortable.
Love it, Jon and we'll be back.
