About The Owner

We are a family of 4 based in Australia. We first visited and fell in love with Breckenridge in 1998 whilst living in the US. After we moved back to Australia we came back here for our honeymoon and have been coming back ever since. As soon as our children were old enough to make the journey, we introduced them to the wonderfulness that is Breckenridge and now they are as captured by its charms as we were. In buying this beautiful home we hope they in turn will bring their children here in the future.

The Owner purchased this cabin in 2012

Why The Owner chose Breckenridge Area

Having rented this wonderfully comfortable mountain home on two previous occasions, when we found out it was for sale during our stay in 2012, we knew it was for us and feel very lucky to have been able to purchase it. The house is a perfect size for several families or extended family groups and provides a real on mountain experience, surrounded by lodgepole pines, wildlife and a view of the slopes. The location is wonderful for families with children with easy green run ski-in ski-out access and the base of Peak 8, the Super Chairs and the Breckenridge Ski School within minutes of the house.

What makes this cabin unique

In addition to its wonderful location, our cabin has beautifully comfortable beds and furnishings. The fully equipped kitchen has everything you will need and dining and living areas are inviting and comfortable for relaxing family evenings together. Sitting in the private hot tub after a great family day on the slopes and looking out onto the surrounding pine and the snowman that we just made with the children ... pure happiness!

Very Thoughtful Owners!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in the cabin at the end of July with 9 people: 7 adults and two small children. We had plenty of room for each couple to spread out and have their own quiet space, but it still felt cozy and homey. Both the communications with Angela the owner and Nancy the property manager were clear, fast and friendly. Angela has thought of everything to make your stay comfortable and informative. We had no problems at all and loved the little touches that made us feel welcome and at home, from the s'mores kit and Australian wine to the easily accessible power strips for our devices and humidifiers in each room for our dry noses! We stayed in the beautiful summertime, but we'd love to come back in the winter to ski. Great location on Peak 8, especially if you have elementary/middle school age kids to enjoy the adventure park in walking distance. Easy access to town by gondola, bus or car. The walk is only 2 miles, so very doable too (at least downhill!) Thanks for sharing your wonderful home - we will be back!

Great Breckenridge Cabin

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in The Cabin for 5 nights in July 2017 and give it a 5 star review. We have a family of five including three young children.

Before the stay, the owners sent us a detailed information package which proved to be very helpful. The package included directions, amenities, details of the area, things to do, local transportation information, and more.

The cabin itself is very clean and comfortable. What stood out the most for us was the details. The Cabin was absolutely fully stocked. For example, the kitchen had plenty of dishes, silverware, name-brand pots, pans, and appliances, knives, dishwasher soap, etc. It made cooking for a family easy. Details such as including plenty of games for the Wii, board games (with fresh batteries), a baby gate, a pack-n-play, a washer/dryer, extra towels, lighters for the fire-pit, even zipping plastic bags and chip clips...details important for a traveling family...were not overlooked. So many times in rental units one finds they need to go out and buy a number of small items. Not the case here.

The location is fantastic. For Summer visitors the Breckenridge summer fun park on Peak 8 is easy walking distance. Of course in the winter the ski area is the same short distance. At the bottom of the street is a trail that heads south to Sawmill reservoir. This is an excellent hike for young children, including a fun bridge across a roaring stream and a 200 yard stretch of small toys that someone placed along the trail.

The owners are extremely responsive should you have any questions and include a contact list (property manager, maintenance) should anything be needed.

I highly recommend this cabin for a stay during any season.

Perfect!!!

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was beautiful and in a great location. We loved all the high end appliances and extras the cabin had to offer. They even had a panini maker. It's about 6 houses down from the mountain but we made it work. Loved it and we will stay again.

The Cabin = The Dream

  • 5 of 5

This is the third time I've brought a group of friends to The Cabin. We had 5 adults there and the home is more than enough. We kept talking all weekend how great is was to be back and how cozy and warm and welcoming it is. We love just sitting at the dining room table and playing cards, cooking meals, and waiting for the local fox to trot by. While the kitchen isn't huge, it has every kitchen tool you could imagine and makes cooking a lot of fun. The basement is a nice getaway for pool or TV. The proximity to the ski run is THE BEST. Perfect. Between that and the cozy feel, The Cabin is the best deal for a smaller group I've found anywhere for Breck/Copper/Keystone. Angela the owner, and the Property Manager are amazing and very responsive. Couldn't ask for better communication. Only negative is I can't afford to visit several times a year!

Traveling Texans

  • 5 of 5

This was our first trip to Breckenridge, but it will not be our last! This cabin is perfect and the owners have thought of everything...night lights, humidifiers, games, s'mores, a "what not" drawer, shopping bags...in addition to the many many amenities listed on their site. It also has one of the most well furnished kitchens we have ever experienced! Our days were spent skiing, playing games (the Wii system is a nice touch) shopping in town, and dining at the local eateries. We even tried out the Escape Room experience in town...what fun!! The cabin itself has a fabulous floor plan which allows for privacy (we were traveling with our two grown sons and their spouses), but also has two large living areas where we could gather as a group. Thank you, Angela and Nancy, for your attention to detail!! It really made our stay a memorable one.

Amazing Mountain Cabin Experience!

  • 5 of 5

A group of 8 friends came to the cabin for a ski trip. Everyone had a blast and loved the cabin. The cabin was clean and well equipped. From the Apple TV, which one guest enjoyed so much he purchased one as soon as he got home, to the hot tub, which was clean each day, everything was top notch. The pool table, cards against humanity, fire pit, and even a friendly fox kept everyone entertained. We did have snow while there and it was great that they had kitty litter and sand to help us get out of the driveway. The kitchen had everything needed to make amazing meals. Everyone was happy with the beds and the humidifier was a nice treat for the dry mountain air. The location was great. The first day we were not able to ski in/ski out because there wasn't enough snow on the road. But the other three days we were able to. The trip downtown was quick and easy. Some guest used the bus stop down the road and said it was easy. The only negative things that were discussed was the large cameras outside the cabin, which we totally understand for security, made it a bit uncomfortable and the hair dryer in the up stairs bathroom kept falling off the wall. Overall the cabin was amazing and we couldn't have found a better place for our ski trip! Thank you so much for allowing us to share your wonderful place!

Owner's Response: Thank you! It is great to hear about the things that you all enjoyed about the cabin. We want to make the vacation rental experience as easy and as comfortable as possible for our guests, so we really very much appreciate your positive feedback. Your information about many different details is so very useful for future guests, so thank you for taking the time to leave such a comprehensive review. I am glad to hear that after the first day you were able to ski in for the rest of your stay. Like most ski in/out properties in Breckenridge, we do rely on a decent snowpack on the road. Warmer temperatures, no recent snow falls or an overenthusiastic county snow plow crew can all have an impact and this is really very important for potential guests to understand. Thank you also for mentioning the outdoor security cameras. Our cabin is located on a quiet and secluded street, which is wonderful for privacy and makes for a great mountain experience. However, one of our groups was unfortunately targeted by thieves and we really want to do whatever we can to prevent that happening again. Thanks also for mentioning the hair dryer — your feedback is invaluable and enables us to get things fixed! Thanks again for providing such a detailed review. Hope to see you all again in the future!
