We visited, a few weeks ago, in the middle of October and can honestly say this was our best vacation by far! The view from the cabin was amazing and everything we wanted to do was just a short distance away! The kids (and my husband and I) loved the game loft and the hot tub! They provided everything you could need, it was like a home away from home. We honestly had no complaints about the cabin and we look forward to more vacations staying here!
Overall it was a nice vacation. I had a few negatime things that I hope the resort can make better for the future renters. We were not notified about not being able to use the fire place inside til we were already in the cabin, it would have been nice to know ahead of time. The fireplace would of made the experience a little better. Also, we noticed the light bulb on the patio by the hot tub was blown and we told the resort lady, she ignored the situation and it was never fixed. Not much of a reason to give a bad rating, but like I said I hope the resort can fix things and make it better for future guests.
We are frequent visitor's of Tennessee and the Beautiful Douglas Lake. This trip was ment to be just a family trip to enjoy great family time away from work, school, and everyday life stress!! I will tell you with this wonderful cabin we were able to do exactly that, only leaving to go out boating on the lake. The Game Loft was perfect for us plus they have many board games, coloring books, and dvds (we brought some of our own as well)! The deck is amazing! There is plenty of seating weather your relaxing, eating a meal, or playing a few games outside and inside. The pictures of the view they have listed give no justice to what the beautiful mountain view you see, especially when the sun is hitting the mountains just right! We were able to use the hot tube 2 nights out of the 6 and it can easily comfortably fit 4-6 people. The kitchen had everything needed to cook great family meals (bring some storage containers for left overs). The charcoal grill was simple, and worked great!! The cabin was excellently cleand. You can tell the swept the deck for spiders because we saw none except our giant little buddy that made a new web on the game room deck. We choose to just leave it there and let it claim the deck for its home and observe it, witch for me and my kids was neat to observe especially knowing it was behind closed doors!! I highly recommend this cabin for everyone of all ages especially with the old school arcade games! I was able to teach my kids a thing or two about gaming for a change!!! The only complaint I have is to having to leave and go back to reality!!! It was a Great Cabin and we made many of Great memories! Thanks for sharing your cabin with us Sandy and Allen!!!
After a 9 hour drive, we walked into Allen and Sandy's cabin and felt instantly refreshed and at home. The cabin is spacious, clean and had everything we needed for our week stay there. We enjoyed the peacefulness and beautiful view of the mountains. We were far enough away from the hustle and bustle of the city, but close enough to enjoy some of the sightseeing and activities going on. I would definitely go back!
We had a great vacation. The cabin was very cute. It was nice that it had all things needed for cooking. My kids enjoyed the loft with arcade games. Beautiful views of mountains off the deck. We brought our boat and were able to check out Douglas lake which was gorgeous too!
Not usually one to rave but this was a really great experience. Cabin was new and clean and had a incredible view. Condo like amenities with cabin like feel:
wrap around deck with hot tub, 3 flat screen TV's. Coffee Maker, Microwave, Full size Fridge, Oven and Stove, even a water cooler. Wife loved washer and dryer in cabin. Upstairs floor had pool table, foosball table and 32 in one video machine. AC was able to keep the place cool in 94 heat. Very contemporary, well appointed with attention to detail in decor. Only minor caveat is it takes about 12 minutes to get to main road, and probably another 20 minutes to get to any main destination. It was great. Had a couple issues which were resolved very promptly.
Within the resort, you have free use of the swimming pool, boat launch and parking, walking trails, playground and Douglas Lake. (low water level in winter months)
You are only 20 minutes (16 Miles) to Dollywood, Dollywoods Splash Country and Pigeon Forge.. 30 minutes to Gatlinburg and just beyond that is the Great Smokey Mtn. National Park... About an hour from Harrahs Cherokee Casino or to Knoxville UT campus/stadium
