I was born and raised in Istanbul. After completing a degree in maths and engineering. I eventually decided I wanted to build and run a small hotel in south west of Turkey. Having previously visited the beautiful coastline around Olu Deniz I realized this was where I wanted to be based.
In 2000 I finally realized my dream and my hotel was built.
The Hotel Cypriot has been my main business for the last 15 years with many repeat British and Turkish guests.
In 2005 I bought a beautiful plot of land in Ovacik and went on to design and build Villa Goldeneye which was completed and furnished in 2008.
As the villa is fairly close to the hotel guests have the assurance of knowing any problems or snags will be addressed immediately.
Erkan Ozdogan purchased this villa in 2005
The plot is situated in a peaceful hillside area in the village of Ovacik. It has delightful views across the village and valleys in one direction and fabulous views of the mountains in the other direction. It is very close to all amenities and is an ideal base for exploring the area around Fethiye, Olu Deniz and beyond.
One of the main benefits of this villa is that has a purpose built self contained annex. When talking to many holiday makers I have found that although they enjoy coming on holiday with other friends and family it is also important that they can have their 'own space' from time to time. Villa Goldeneye offers this facility which many other large villas don't. As the annex is on the ground floor it makes it easier for children and the elderly to gain access.
Erkan the owner is extremely friendly and helpful, he arranged for transfers from the airport and the taxi driver even stopped at a small store at 3am in the morning so that we could get som emergency supplies!
The villa is lovely and spacious and the outdoor space is great for dining, lounging and of course playing in the pool. The location of the villa is in a quiet side road but a short walk brings you to the main road through Ovacik where regular minbuses, the Dolmush will take you to various places such as Hissaranou, the Ghost Town, Oludinez and Fethye.
Ovacik has all the shops you could need but if you like a little bit more of a walk, all on the level then Hissaranou has even more shops and a bigger supermarket. It also has 'Go Kating' track which are 11 year old thoroughly enjoyed. For those of you who feel like striking out for a further walk, about 2K and all down hill then the walk into Oludeniz is great, take the top road from the villa, turn right and just keep going, we would not recommend walking back because of the hill but you can always catch the Dolmush on the return journey!
Fethye is a lovely, bustling town with a pretty harbour and delightful long promenade. Spend the day, a morning of shopping in the old town, look out for the lovely leather and gold shops. Have lunch in the Fish Market, tricky to find but well worth it, then take one of the many boats and visit some of the islands or swim in remote coves, all rounded off by an evening walk as you watch the sunset over the harbour. On Tuesday Fethye holds the biggest market, fruit and veg galour, great place to get all your gifts and some delicious Turkish delight.
I would certainly recommend visiting Turkey and particularly this area, where the people are warm, freindly and welcoming and I would definately recommend Erkan's beautiful villa for a relaxing holday.
