Wow!! Beautiful 3 bedroom, 3 1/2 bath. Living room with large open ceiling and lots of hand crafted twig rails and pine floor and walls and beautiful rock gas fireplace. Large kitchen crafted by European Antiques to give the home a true mountain feel complete with real wood counter tops. Dining room table ready to seat a party of ten (10). Awesome loft overlooking living room with desk area and large couch to relax while reading a great book. Large screen porch off of the living room and kitchen that overlooks the creek. A second porch on the bottom floor complete with rocking chairs and grill, and a large rock patio off of the porch with a fire pit ready for your evening marshmallow roast. A reading porch off of the master bath for your morning coffee, and, yes, I thought of that -- a coffee bar in the master bathroom. All bathrooms were crafted with custom built cabinets and stone sinks to give this cabin a true mountain flavor. There are so many details in my mountain home that were arduously designed to give my guest the feel of the mountains and the luxury of a professional decorated home that will bring you back year after year.
I am a 48 year old business man in the metro Atlanta area that grew up visiting the North Georgia mountains and enjoy the beautiful surroundings and the many activities that are just a short drive away.
Greg Herring purchased this cabin in 2011
Wow!! What can I say -- this was a home that I looked at in the Summer of 2011. I fell in love with the location as it is located 1/10 of a mile from Lake Burton and on a beautiful creek. It is centrally located to all the places I wanted to spend time at, such as Clayton, Hiawassee, Helen and many beautiful North Georgia towns. I purchased the property and began renovation all the way down to the studs. Over the next year plus, I hired a craftsman and began creating a mountain getaway that I am sure you will agree is second to none. Every detail was attended to and every board, rock and minute detail was designed with precision. I am sure you will agree this home has everything a mountain home should have and more.
My mountain home is unique and it has the feel of an 3-story mill house located on a creek with three (3) beautiful porches, a 800 square foot rock patio complete with a rock pit. The inside has beautiful pine floors, washed pine walls and ceilings with a twist of metal in the vault in the living room and handcrafted twig rail.
We truly had an awesome stay at this home!! This place was built and decorated with a lot of heart!! Our children loved exploring the back and playing in the creek. Plenty of room for two families!! We loved cooking in the kitchen and building a fire with kids in pit in the evening which made the evening before bed!! To top off the night after a bath, every bed in this home is so comfortable which gave the best night sleep!!
This place is truly amazing, even better than it looks in the pictures. It was so fun to explore the house and property, everything was just perfect. We had a great time exploring the mountains and lakes as well, can't wait to do it again next year.
I was very pleased with the property overall. The only complaint is that the place should have wifi. The is no cell service what so ever, and having three kids, it would have Made our stay a little better.
Our family of five enjoyed every minute of our stay at Burton Mill. The cottage is well appointed and cared for and has ample room to accommodate multiple families if needed. Two large, private bedrooms downstairs for adults with a bunk room upstairs perfect for teenagers. Kitchen fully stocked with pots/pans and dishes for cooking in. Great location...just a mile from Murray Cove boat ramp. We brought our boat and loading/unloading was a breeze. We look forward to returning.
ADORABLE mountain cabin. It captured everything we hoped for when booking a mountain getaway. Truly tucked back in a mountain- loads of privacy. Excellent condition- TONS of space to spread out for what is not a huge cabin. Stream in backyard was fun for the kids to explore. Short walk to Lake Burton. 10 minute drive to great hiking. Comfy beds. Great fireplace and great outdoor fire pit. Quality furnishings.
This is a well loved property. A real gem.
Owner was awesome in every way. We will be back!
This cabin is a home, with touches throughout that repeat that truth from the comfortable bedding to the lovely matching pottery. The screened deck to the back affords a respite from indoors and a beautiful babbling brook to listen to and a beautiful scene of nature in its raw and natural state. There are comfortable lounging areas throughout this domain from the porches to the loft alcove. One is invited to be at peace as everything has been thought of that you might need. Plenty of towels, fluffy and clean, interesting decor that begs you to explore. The amount of games that my grandchild found when visiting was more than we could get around to enjoying and each in great condition. The four twin beds upstairs lend themselves to an area for teens or children to be independent in their silliness but safely only a flight of stairs away. Smartly put also that bedroom is not above the other two bedrooms so need for sound to travel to sleepers in another area. You really can't go wrong! This is a precious place.
1/10 of a mile from beautiful Lake Burton and Murray Cove boat dock and just a few miles from Lake Seed. Just minutes to some of the most beautiful waterfalls and hiking trails in the south. 5 minutes from ATV riding trails. That's only scratching the surface of the many activities available at my beautiful mountain retreat. Clayton is a wonderful place to shop and Helen and Hiawasee are a short drive for fun, great food and shopping.
