Why Mac and Tricia Clarke chose Encinitas
The casita was completed in 2003 with highest quality of materials and has been available for family and friends over the years. Furnishings have been updated to accomodate out of town guests.
What makes this Cottage unique
Mac and Tricia sought out property on Crest. Crest has some of the last remaining property that have acreage close to the coast allowing privacy, rural feel, yet close proximity to beach and amenities. Situated on over an acre, the property is perched over a six acre parcel. Owls, Bobcats, coyotes, rabbits, hawks soar. The main house has been remodeled over the years and landscaping is drought tolerant. Prior animals included miniature donkeys, and as many as seven peacocks.

Great place to relax especially the veranda. Comfortable, well furnished with well equipped kitchen.
Central location yet quiet and peaceful.
Our stay was lovely and very relaxing. The canyon view was great! The hosts were very welcoming and visits from their dogs were a great treat.
If you are looking for a beautiful, tranquil place to rest and relax, look no more. Perfect!
We could not ask for a more perfect place to rest and relax. Tricia and Mac were amazing hosts to us and our dog. The casita is beautifully decorated and appointed with everything you need. The view from the veranda is amazing, a perfect place to watch nature in the canyon, sip a glass of wine or read. It is close to town, grocery stores, and beautiful beaches and hiking trails. We will be back! Thank you Mac and Tricia!
Wonderful stay ☆☆
The casita was more than we expected. Very clean, well stocked, comfortable bed, photos do not do it justice. Very quiet, beautiful grounds, and views all around. Mac and Tricia were very helpful and we hope to return next year
We enjoyed our stay at Mac and Tricia's casita. Peace and quiet. And what a view! Located on a crest overlooking a beautiful valley (with occasional hot air balloon sightings), it is within easy reach of both the beach and the restaurants etc. on Camino de Real, down the hill a ways. Fully equipped, just bring coffee. The turn onto Santa Fe from the casita's road (right turn only) can be a little confusing to out-of-towners, but you catch on. Restaurants: we recommend both Fish 101 (locations in Leucadia and Cardiff, Leucadia fish sandwich the best) and the French bakery on Camino de Real. Lobster West was good, too. The casita: just what we were hoping for!
Peaceful with a beautiful canyon view
We spent a week in the casita with our four year old and it was wonderful. The casita is well appointed and comfortable, and the location provides quiet relaxation while being close to shopping, the beach, local parks, and San Diego proper. Tricia and Mac are kind hosts, very friendly but also giving you your space. We’ll be back next time we are staying in the area.
