Forester's Cottage in September
Three couples stayed September 6th through 9 2019. Foresters Cottage is such a special place and the grounds are just so beautiful. We immensely enjoyed sitting on the front porch and taking in the views. Swam in that gorgeous pool, hiked the forest and saw the waterfalls, toured Grey Towers, played pingpong and much more. The town of Milford is a delight. Appreciated so much learning the history of the Pinchot family. Dinner at Tequila Sunrise, dinner on the porch at Dimmick Inn, breakfast at Fork Lift. Attended a local church service and witnessed 6 people getting baptized in a lake. Doesn't get much better than this.
Absolutely wonderful getaway. 💗
Perfect family reunion venue
This exquisite, secluded property was ideal for a holiday weekend reunion of our three-generation family of 11, including two young children and a baby. Everyone had a comfortable bedroom, there were plenty of bathrooms to go around, and we all fit comfortably around the huge dining room table.
We spent most of our time hanging out on the side porch watching the kids play on the lawn, but also took full advantage of the lovely (and safely fenced-off) pool and the trails in the nearby woods. The property is expansive and beautiful.
We cooked a lot of huge meals in the enormous country kitchen, which was stocked with every possible dish and gadget.
Don't be put off by the age of this property. The owners have attended well to the invisible infrastructure. We never had to scrounge for an electrical outlet, there was plenty of hot water, and the wi-fi was fast and rock solid.
The one thing we can't comment on is the lack of air conditioning. During our stay the daytime temperatures never topped 80 degrees and nights were in the 50s and 60s, so even if there had been a/c we wouldn't have turned it on.
Highly, highly recommended.
A special place
Our family really had a wonderful time. The walls ooze history in this house and property. The waterfall is spectacular and the pool was great for lounging around. This is a special house.
Wonderful Family Vacation
The house and ground are fantastic/beautiful. The pictures don't do the property justice. We had a family vacation and the lawn and pool were perfect for the kids. The porch perfect for the grandparents. The kitchen has all you need for family dinners. The house does not have AC but stays cool both during the day and at night. They also have fans in all bedroom just in case (all was good). Tammy was wonderful with communication. Highly recommend the property. Looking forward to returning!
A step back in time
This home was more than I expected, it has character. I felt such nostalgia being here. It was the most wonderful experience my family and I enjoy this house so much we didn’t want to leave, we will be back. If you have a chance or an opportunity to stay at the Forester’s cottage do not let it slip by it’s a wonderful memory you will have for your life.
