This gorgeous handcrafted red cedar log 5 bedroom home that comfortably sleeps 12is situated slope-side in one of Whistler’s most exclusive ski in/ski out locations. After a day on the slopes relax with family and friends in the private outdoor hot tub and enjoy the majestic views of Whistler peak, the Dave Murray Downhill ski run and the Whistler Valley. Then step inside to experience the warmth and luxury of the newly renovated gourmet kitchen, massive living room and a dining room table around which many wonderful family memories will be shared. And finally end your day in front of one of two wood burning stone fireplaces experiencing either the large downstairs family room with wet bar or enjoying your favorite movies in surround sound on the large flat screen monitor back in the main floor living room.
If a day's skiing has you ready for an evening out, you are within walking distance from great local eating favorites including the Rim Rock (Whistler’s perennial #1 ranked restaurant), Creekbread (best wood oven pizza in Whistler), Dusty’s (world famous apres-ski barbeque) and the iconic Southside Deli. Just across the highway, the boutique Nita Lake Lodge offers spa treatments, yoga and a warm and spacious bar and fine dining restaurant. Franz’s Trail shopping area is a 5 minute walk and includes large grocery store, liquor store, bank, Starbucks, Whistler Ski camp base, ski shop and many other essential amenities. During the winter, you can monitor the Creekside gondola lift line from your deck and practically ski from your door to the gondola. And when it's time to think about leaving, a Creekside departure is up to 30 minutes closer to Vancouver when the traffic gets crazy at the end of the day.
I have skied at Whistler since I was 7 yrs old and so I call it my EXTREMELY happy place and now we have our dream vacation home. We are an extended family comprised of 4 energetic kids and an even more energetic dog, and MANY wonderful friends who join us as much as possible. We work in Vancouver and escape as much as possible to Whistler in the winter and summer.
Kirsten Kennedy and Bill Crimp purchased this house in 2012
Location, location, location. Perched on the side of the slope in Creekside, one is surrounded by views of true mountain and valley beauty. The morning view up Whistler and down the Valley gets us up early! Plus the house has the most incredible warm feeling to it, maybe its the logs! You can see the life open in the morning and wave to friends at the top of the peak while in your hot tub for non skiers.
3000 square foot house provides plenty of space for 2 families to spread out and feel very comfortable. Hot tub on the BEST deck in Whistler, slope-side so you can almost wave to your friends on the lift, 2 lovely wood burning fires and a large living area that is so inviting.
First off, Kirsten is the best. Such a great hostess and a pleasure throughout the renting process. I plan large ski trips for my friends every year and this is by far the best house we've stayed at. It is absolutely gorgeous. Great log cabin feel with modern amenities. We were at capacity for the house and it never felt small. We cooked big meals for everyone most nights and the kitchen managed this with flying colors. Ski in/out was great. So easy to get to the gondola and get back after a long day on the mountain. The house was easy to find and had everything to accommodate us. I'm adding to my favorite list for future potential trips to the area.
we had a wonderful time together as a family- 3 generations. great location! the house was outfitted beautifully. several of us enjoyed the hot tub. the views were spectacular! the skiing was great! It snowed every day we were there! The owner had decorated the house for Christmas which made it feel very warm and festive and made us feel welcome!
We booked this house in summer for a winter wonderland experience in Canada. 13 of us made the marathon trek from England and Ireland to experience a white Christmas. We were not disappointed. We arrived very late at night but this did not stop us from being wowed by our home for the following two weeks. The owner had decorated the house for the festive season, which thrilled the children, and the adults. A welcome pack also awaited us so we didn't have to run to the supermarket as soon as we got up the day after our arrival. The owner insisted that we use the house as if it were our own and to use anything we found in the fully stocked pantry, which was fantastic as one of our party was a chef!!!
The house catered for everybody in our party the youngest being 4, and with 3 teenagers in tow that could have been mission impossible. The den on the lower ground floor was a perfect relaxing space for the them, leaving the ground floor and view for the adults.
The hot tub together with a chilled beer, was a treat for all with aching limbs after a full day skiing. Who thought a hot tub in the snow would be so much fun, which it was.
The house location was perfect, close to the supermarket, ski lifts, bar restaurant, coffee shop and the regular bus service into Whistler village.
Perfect house, perfect location, perfect holiday.
This Chalet set a new standard for us! The 3 full storeys of expansive & luxurious living space offered us many options of living space where we could gather together; or, when needed, where one or two of us could retreat in complete privacy and recover from all the thrills that Whistler provides. All 6 kids stayed on the first floor - with one adult couple - where there was loads of space, and all the essentials were completely within reach. The other 2 couples enjoyed the enormous bedrooms on the 3rd Floor. The kitchen and dining set up was ideal for food preparation and socializing without ever stepping on toes or getting in the each others' way.
All with the most spectacular view of the mountains in the distance. We had no troubles walking to the slopes and back again without having to drive every day...they made it easy for different groups to go out at different times and return at different times.
We enjoyed the hot tub, the fact that this was clearly someone's chalet (with the offer to take and replace items in the pantry and even use a pair of boots when we got stuck), the entry way where we could remove and put on our ski equipment and the owner was very receptive to all our needs
We have used VRBO for many vacations but this was by far the easiest rental with a very warm reception.
Steps away from ski hill. The living/eating area was ample size for us to eat and get together as a large group. Nice large hot tub and comfortable accommodations for sleeping. Would definitely go back. Owner was great to deal with -very personable and accommodating.
Anyone who is looking for THE Whistler experience, this house is the place to be! Incredibly comfortable log cabin feel, modern kitchen, soft beds, great hot tub equipped with speakers, and walking distance to the slopes, what more could you want! On top of that, the stay is even better as the homeowner is as generous, gracious, genuine, and accommodating as anyone I have ever worked with on Homeaway. This home far exceeded my expectations and was a wonderful retreat for me and a group of friends. We will be back!
