Why Steve M Armstrong chose Marshall
For several years I looked for an escape that was remote but still close to Asheville. After many attempts to get what I wanted, we had just about given up. When this foreclosed unfinished property came available, I saw the perfect opportunity to have that dream. The home has a very steep driveway that winds up to the homesite which give you a feel that you are away from civilization. With 28 acres on mountain top views. We decided this would be our private retreat.
What makes this Cabin unique
With our back porch with rocking chairs and a swing overlooking the valley, we hope you enjoy this truely modern cabin. As remote as the home is, there is plenty to do in the area. Please note gravel driveway is very steep, however there are two landing areas to park in if you cant get up. 4 Wheel Drive, All Wheel Drive, Rear wheel drive recommended.

Great cabin in a beautiful setting. We loved our time here.
We really enjoyed our stay!!
Thanks for sharing your awesome cabin with us! Love the remote location with hiking trails right off the back porch! We will definitely be back!
Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful!
My husband and I celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary one 3/31. When trying to decide what to do (we normally take a camper), we chose to look for a cabin somewhere we had not before visited. Our daughters gave us tickets to the Biltmore so that sealed the general area we would look. Searching on VRBO was a great experience and we were so excited to find this gem of a cabin. It is beautiful, clean and completely stocked with just about anything you need except for fresh foods. The house was clean and very comfortable. The climb to the cabin is rather steep and a 4-wheel or an awd vehicle is recommended. We have an awd vehicle and had no problem reaching the top. We took a trip to Mt. Mitchell where we encountered a small blizzard, went gem mining, visited Ashville, went to the Biltmore and ate at 12 Bones (HIGHLY recommended). My dog and I climbed and conquered the hill behind the house (Steve, you really should provide tee-shirts stating that feat was accomplished!) while my husband "conquered" the couch. We had a wonderful time and would definitely stay here again!
Great house and had a blast going up the driveway
Make sure you see the flying pigs!!! We went up the wrong driveway at 1am and trust me, you do not want to make that mistake lol! By the time we found our driveway I was relieved, it’s tricky at night because you can’t see the turn very well but we were fine, 6 girls in the car and we made it like a pro. 4x4 all the way though, make your reservation in advance as they run out of them. House was very nice and comfy, lots of food and condiments which we gladly used. Only suggestion is a few logs around the fire pit. We went white water rafting the Chattooga river section IV with NOC and it was a blast!!! Hiked DuPont falls which has three awesome waterfalls. Also toured Asheville’s breweries and highly recommend a stop at Gingers revenge. Would stay here again and have fun driving people up the driveway LOL!
Larrise, thanks for making the trip! It’s a great getaway and we are glad you guys enjoyed!
Beautiful secluded cabin retreat! Comfortable, spacious, tranquil porches. Excellent condition!
This might be the most perfect cabin we’ve ever stayed in over the last 20 years of travel. The perfect layout, 3 big bedrooms with space for more, a great central room and a nicely sized and equipped kitchen overlooking. HUGE porches front and back. The cabin is well taken care of, and is warm and welcoming.
This is a great get away; if you’re looking for a basecamp to visit the area, be advised the house is 20 minutes off of the highway. 45 minutes to downtown Asheville, 2ish Hours to Cherokee entrance to GSM NP.
Driveway while steep, is in great shape, and not treacherous at all.
Prompt and clear communication with owner. No issues during our stay.
Wish it was ours!
Located in the Pisgah National Forest. Very close to the Appalachian Trail, Skiing, Hiking, and white water rafting. This remote 28 acre site near Marshall NC. 45 minutes to downtown Asheville.
