My husband Mario is a teacher and I am a public health researcher. We both work at the university. We have lived in Wash DC for over 15 years and we love DC! We have two daughters who go to school at Capitol Hill. We used to live upstairs in a row house. The apartment that you plan to rent is at the lower level and it has a private entrance.
Senda purchased this apartment in 2005
Capitol Hill is a fun place to stay. You will find lots of young people and young children. It is a very family friendly town. The metro and bus service are just around the corner. You do not need a car at all. The row house is old and antique. It has its own character but we updated the apartment in four years ago. It is still new and modern.
Thank you so much for allowing us to rent your apartment! We enjoyed it. You all are the best!
We found it very tight for the 4 of us, but were aware of that before renting the unit. The only problem we encountered was the hot water heater would work for about 8 minutes and then turn off for about 5 minutes and then on again. It made it had to take showers when we were in a hurry to leave. It is very small and the master's bed is tight for 2 adults. We really enjoyed our stay here.
Very stately, attractive building in a great location across from park, close to outdoor market and loads of bars and restaurants. Apartment was clean and comfortable. Stayed here with my fiance and her mother and layout worked nicely. Would recommend this to a friend and would absolutely consider staying here again. Host was responsive and courteous.
The apartment is furnished and described as the rental description. The apartment is very close to the metro (Eastern Market) and makes it easy to rely on the metro when one doesn't want to drive. There is also plenty of eating options within walking distance from the apartment. Off-site parking could be difficult sometimes and may require a further walk from the apartment. Overall, the location of the apartment was good!
There was some drawback in terms of the apartment itself. The air circulation within the apartment was not great as throughout my whole stay, my nose was stuffed up when I was in the apartment. The days that I stayed at DC was on the colder side and I felt the heating in the living was inadequate. The TV cable stop working half way through our stay, but I didn't reach out to Senda because it was less of a concern for me as I was out of the apartment most of the time. Also, one day I woke and found a big dead cockroach near the dining room; this may be related to the fact that it is at the ground level apartment and trash day was the day before.
One thing I dislike was the gates for the apartment. I understand the gates are necessary for safety but to have it lock all the time (requested by owner) while only having one set of keys becomes a safety hazard as there times that I left the apartment to run an errand leaving my family in the apartment in which I had to lock up the gates. I can imagine if something goes wrong and my family is trapped inside because there is only one set of keys for the gates/door. I would suggest having at least two sets of keys considering the apartment sleeps up to 4 people and not everyone travels on the same agenda everyday.
My husband & I stayed here for 4 nights. He had business meetings and therefore needed easy transportation back & forth. This is a great condo that is within walking distance of the train, restaurants and an organic market. The owners are very responsive and accommodating. The condo was clean and well-appointed. We would definitely stay here again!
Wonderful, clean apartment with all of the amenities needed for a vacation. Apartment is in a very good location and is convenient to the Metro, large outdoor market, a Starbucks, Dunkin Donuts, and organic market. The owners are close by and excellent to work with. We would not hesitate to make a return trip and stay in the same location.
My sister and I stayed in this lovely apartment for 3 nights while we toured our 4 children around the sights of D.C. The apartment is small,but has everything you need. It was very clean and had all the kitchen supplies we needed since we made meals at the apartment most of the time. It is in a nice area and we were able to park right in front of the apartment. The very best part is the great location. You can see the metro (Eastern Market) station from the front door and it is only a couple stops to the memorials and museums. We were able to go out in the morning, return for rest/naps and then head out again later in the afternoon for more sightseeing. The street (8th St I think) is also a block away with lots of great restaurants and an organic market. We really enjoyed our stay and will be sure to use this place again in the future.
Located in the Capitol Hill Historic District on one the 'best blocks', everything Washington has to offer is at your fingertips. The Eastern Market Metro is half block. An assortment of restaurants and shops are two blocks away in Barracks Row and one block away in Eastern Market. Within walking distance you will find the bustling with an open air market that filled with full of organic fruits, meats, vegetables and lots of household, clothing and other cool stuff.
In addition, the Washington Nationals baseball stadium, the National Mall, and all the major historical attractions, theater, music and nightlife are easy access. It is even walkable to the Capitol building historical areas.
Best of all, Washington National Airport is a 15 minute trip by automobile or an easy Metro ride and Union Station is easy by DC Circulator bus or even walking within 20 minutes. Capital Bikeshare is within shortest distance to be reached.
Come and enjoy our beautiful city!

|Property Damage Protection||$59|
As the owner of the property, Property Damage Protection for $59 is a best option rather than Refunding the Damage Deposit for $1500. You will lose some transition fee. It is not worth it.
