Welcome to our inviting lakefront cabin! We have owned this 'little bit of paradise' since 1989 have shared many memorable moments with our friends and family members. We have decided to open our cabin up for rental to offset the cost of college for our two older daughters. Thus, your are offered the opportunity to enjoy our charming lakefront cabin! We hope that your family will make many memories at Spirit Lake just like ours has.
Although the cabin is small, it lives REALLY large, especially in the summer and can nicely accommodate 10, including kids. We have one bedroom with a queen size bed, a futon in the spacious living room (with views up the lake and to Mount Spokane) that folds down to a full size bed, one bathroom, a sleeping cabin that can sleep two on cots, and a small basement area that can sleep up to four on fold out thick mats. The basement area also has a separate bathroom: toilet and sink. The accommodations range is based on whether the persons staying are adults/teens or small children. There is a path that leads down to the lake from the cabin. The lakefront includes a dock with deep water access, a swim ladder, boat slip, and use of our canoe. The park-like yard by the cabin includes an outdoor fireplace (smores!), outdoor table and chairs (most of our meals are eaten here in the summer), and a hammock for reading or dozing. The bedroom of the cabin has a small TV with DVD while the living room has a flat screen TV with DVD player.

About Sheryl Rasmussen
We are the Rasmussen family: Eric & Sheryl and our girls. We have owned our Spirit Lake cabin since 1989, the year after we were married. Although we live in the Seattle area, Eric grew up in North Idaho.
Sheryl Rasmussen purchased this Cabin in 1989
Why Sheryl Rasmussen chose Kootenai County
A neighbor at the lake kindly offered the cabin/property to us for purchase and we have been more than blessed with it for more than 28 years. We have spent each summer here near Eric's parents enjoying family and friends while participating in the rich variety of what North Idaho has to offer for recreation.
What makes this Cabin unique
1) Best view on Spirit Lake: We look all the way west on the lake at the two islands and up to Mount Spokane. 2) Sun on the beach and dock through early evening: Some sites are located in a location that is shaded by late afternoon. Our beach and dock have summer sun past 7 pm. A longer day of fun on the lake! 3) We are located on the Nautical Loop Road which is between Twin Lakes and the town of Spirit Lake on Hwy 41. No need to drive the slow and winding road along the north side of the lake. Easy access to the town of Spirit Lake, Twin Lakes, Coeur D' Alene, and Spokane. 4) We are 11 miles from Silverwood! It takes only 10-15 minutes to get to Silverwood from our cabin! 5) Private setting: Amazing privacy for family fun or solitude. 6) Our dock is in a deep water access area. Swimmers can dive into the lake from the far side of the dock and boats can easily access the dock. Some parts of the lake have very shallow water for quite a distance from the beach/docks - ours is ideal for swimming and boating.

My husband and I along with our two Shih Tzus stayed at the cottage for three nights. Our cousins were staying at nearby Stone Ridge so it was perfect. Since it was a short stay, we ate out and didn't cook at all. We also did not enjoy the lake, but we did go down to the dock to take in the view. It was warm in the house even with all the windows open so we pulled the air mattress and slept in the living room where the window-type airconditioning unit was. Reserving the cottage was a breeze and Sheryl was a pleasure to work with.
This was the third year we have stayed here. As before, the property met all of our expectations. We plan to come back next year.
Amazing stay. Amazing place. Stay here, you will love it.
We came with our family and completely enjoyed ourselves. You couldn't ask for anything more (well expect the Hawks pre-game on tv ;-) We were on vacation and it was completely fine so I am kidding only because it was funny to be completely relaxing and then suddenly wanting to watch the Hawks. Needless to say, we grilled steaks and ate outside while looking at the amazing view just up from the lake. Plenty of space to place, a short trip down the hill to the dock (which made for some decent exercise between the relaxing) and an amazing lake - clear, cold and virtually free of other boats. Great stay and great owners. Thank you!
Great place made even better!
This is our third time staying here and once again it exceeded expectations. Updates to the dock, rooms and added wifi made a great place even better. Looking forward to our next stay here!
Awesome! Amazing! The whole family aged 3 to 59 loved it! We are already planning a regurn trip!
The place is beautiful! I loved that the owners called to check and make sure everything was ok. The kids loved swimming in the lake ! The little squirrels were crazy, and the bald eagle hung out with us one evening for awhile in the tree right on the property. We were worried with 8 of us how it was gonna work but with the basement and sleeping shed..we all had enough space. I liked hving the lake down the hill so the kids could play outside without us worrying . There were cool fish to catch and release! We also enjoyed hving wifi since everyone is addicted to their phones. The cabin was also 8 minutes from my sisters house! The place has lots of character and was a perfect place for our vacation!
THANK YOU for the terrific review.
We are delighted that your family enjoyed your vacation at our Spirit Lake cabin and we hope you come back again in future years!

This was the second time we rented the property. As before, the experience was great. We've rented at different locations on Spirit Lake and this location is the best because of the deep water and new dock. The house worked perfectly for our family of 5 adults, 2 teens and a 7 year old. We'll be doing it again next year.
North Idaho provides outstanding beauty and activities during all seasons. Summer fun includes swimming and fishing on the lake from the dock. Bring your boat and/or jet skis for water skiing, tubing, and lake fishing. Farragut State Park (outstanding mountain bike trails) and Silverwood Theme Park/Boulder Beach Water Park are less than 10 miles away. Day trips to Sandpoint (45 minutes) and Coeur D' Alene (25 minutes) can include shopping, restaurants, the city beaches, and music under the stars at The Festival at Sandpoint. Summer mountain biking or huckleberry picking and winter snow skiing are only an hour away at Schweitzer Mountain near Sandpoint. North Idaho is a three season golf paradise and two courses are located less than 8 miles from Spirit Lake: Stoneridge Golf Course and Twin Lakes Golf Course. Many other golf courses are excellent options nearby including the renowned Coeur D' Alene Resort Golf Course, home of the world's only floating green. Downtown Spokane is only an hour away with restaurants, museums, and shopping.
