Hideaway Bay Beach Club is a lovely complex of townhouses located on Little Gasparilla Island on the southwest coast of Florida. We are next to Boca Grande, which is known for the world famous tarpon fishing tournaments.
The island is accessible only be boat. However, our development provides free ferry service for guests. Beautiful, deserted beaches covered with shells... the perfect spot to enjoy the spectacular sunsets! Nature trails cover the island. No cars allowed... only quiet golf carts and bicycles! Golf cart trails are cover the island. Golf Cart with front & rear seating included. If you like to go fishing, swimming, shelling, crabbing, snorkeling, diving, birdwatching or just relaxing on one of the most beautiful beaches in Florida this is the place. Hideaway Bay has it's own private boardwalk to the ocean. People gather every evening to watch the most magnificent sunsets in the world.
Hideaway Bay has for guests a nice community large BBQ pit plus 2 serious BBQ smokers for community (which happens often) or individual gatherings. Just check the board at the landing area. We also have a community heated pool with a book library.
Our unit has a king bed upstairs & 2 single beds in downstairs bedroom plus a leather very comfortable couch that one can sleep on. We have a full size washer & dryer. We include the golf cart & provide gas & charcoal grills.
You can bring your own boat and dock it free or rent one nearby. Take a boat trip to Cabbage Key where you can enjoy a 'cheese burger in paradise' and tour the island doesn't get much better.
This will be the closest you will ever come to feeling like you are on Gilligan's Island. It's a very unique place for a vacation and one that will give you memories forever! After discovering our island you will come back time after time.

This was our first time staying at LGI and our family of four (8yo & 4yo) loved every moment of it!! Tom was always very quick to respond when planning our visit and at one point during our stay when we needed to reach him. We chose the villa because it included the dock for our boat as well as a golf cart to explore the island. Even though the beach and the docks were within walking distance we all had so much fun on the golf cart. We went out on our boat fishing everyday and saw lots of dolphins, manatees, stingrays and even sharks. One afternoon while we were at the beach a manatee came right up to us and a group of people allowing us to pet it. It literally kept bumping into us and sticking its nose out to check us all out. Our kids will forever have this special memory! It was the coolest thing ever!
The villa wasn't anything fancy but we weren't looking for fancy. It had everything we needed and there were even some spices and condiments left from previous guests which came in handy. We didn't really watch TV but there were several DVDs, there was also a nice selection of board games in the guest closet which we did use during the afternoon thunderstorms. If I had to think of anything negative I would say that the master bedroom mattress was too firm for me but that's just my personal preference. By the end of each day we were so worn out that it didn't really matter.
We took this trip to get away from everyday stresses and just enjoy nature as a family and we did just that. We made so many family memories and already want to go back!!
My teenage sons and I had a great fishing week on LGI.
The condo was perfect for the 3 of us, equipped with everything we needed throughout the stay.
We really only needed our food. With the association pool, ferry and docks this place has it all.
The golf cart was great to explore the island and as transport for our various fishing expeditions.
Weather was great and the fishing was pretty good too.
We will be back.
We have been to LGI several times and will continue to come back. This condo is well equipped and the golf cart is a plus. Take a ride to the North end of the island to the Gone Fish Inn gift shop. We also rented a boat and kept it at the Hideaway docks. This condos location is nice as it is close to the ferry and pool. The only thing we weren't able to use was the pull out couch as it was broken. Other than that it was well stocked with linens, neccessities, and beach chairs!
We just returned from our week on LGI. We hated to leave such a peaceful and beautiful place. The condo is well-equipped, very clean and quiet. You won't need a single thing except your food. This is the perfect place to relax and unwind. We loved having the golf cart to explore the island and the ferry was also fun. Everyone we met was very friendly and welcoming. LGI has a gorgeous beach with hundreds of beautiful shells, sand dollars and we even found a shark's tooth. We hope to come back next year. Thank you Tom for sharing your condo with us.
Booked this property for 2/13/16-2/20/16. Unfortunately, found morning and evening that ants were invading the kitchen area of the condo. The first day of visit went to store and stocked fridge for week. Put dry goods on counter in kitchen area and went out on our boat for the day. When we came back in the afternoon a new package of Entemann Donuts were full of small ants. They were crawling on the wall and across the counters of the kitchen. We cleaned the area and set ant traps and disposed of the donuts. The next morning the ants had returned again. We put dry goods inside a cooler and set on tile floor in kitchen area. The ants found dry goods inside cooler also. Even after putting ant traps out. You could visibly see the ants come out of wall behind pantry next to entry door to condo. Also, there was a small hole on the opposite wall at the end of the kitchen counter near dishwasher that they continually appeared from. I contacted owner and explained this problem as well as others with the property. The owner said he contacted the association who treats for extermination issues for the condo properties. They couldn't go treat the ant infestation while we were there and I was told that other properties had the same problem with "sugar ants" and that they are very hard to control. Other deficiencies included a gas grill that was missing a hinge for the hood and did not work well. A cluttered storage area that was substandard. Batteries in remote control inoperative for TV in living room. The sink drain in master bathroom that did not work. The sink drain in kitchen that stopper didn't hold water. The main floor toilet had handle that stuck. Sliding glass door difficult to open and close. The laundry room sliding door difficult to open and close. Wallpaper in master bath coming off wall. Refrigerator made noise when running. Stains on carpet in living room, stairwell and master bedroom. At the bottom of stairs going outside to wooden patio area the plaster ceiling was bowing down. The baseline is that there were many deficiencies to this property and I would not recommend this property. Very disappointing.
LGI is a little slice of paradise and Tom's condo was the perfect home base to share in all the area had to offer. The condo was well stocked with basic essentials including towels, sheets, kitchen spices, etc. The association also has an ice machine for coolers we found extremely helpful. Tom was fantastic to work with, promptly replied and answered all of our questions and provided recommendations. We brought our own boat and felt like having the condo area "Captain" gave us an extra level of security to make sure everything was secure at the dock.
As for the island itself we very much enjoyed the golf cart, exploring the paths daily. The beach was incredible for shells, sand dollars, fishing and watching gorgeous sunsets. The location was a perfect spot to explore other islands nearby on the boat, anchor into shallow waters and enjoy the perfect beach weather. We loved the laid back atmosphere of LGI and will certainly be back.

To reserve the unit mail a $400 check for the deposit. I will take a check for the deposit & rent. The deposit check must be separate & will be held until after checkout. Make the rent check out for the full amount (do not subtract the deposit amount). Golf Cart is included.
Full payment must reach us a min. of 3 weeks before your check in date. However, you can cancel 30 days out if you have to and receive a full deposit refund. From 30 days until 2 weeks before check in you will receive 1/2 back and if you have to cancel within the 2 weeks prior to check in we must keep the $400 deposit. Golf Cart is included.
