About George

I'am a 5th generation San Francisco native who has renovated and restored this classic SF Victorian Home to it's original glory. Pictures do not do justice it was built in 1875 and is one of the first homes in the Marina/Cow Hollow district. Come and enjoy it's the best!

George purchased this house in 2012

Why George chose San Francisco

I really love this home. It's just a great combination of San Francisco History, built in 1875, with the San Francisco of today. The photo is from the Marina which is a short walk from Scott Street. All that come here enjoy the location and history that this property has to offer.

What makes this house unique

Location, safety, views, great restaurants nightlife and shopping. Reviews by travelers confirm all of this.

Homey, sunny, large San Francisco home.

There is much to love about this home: the fragrance of the wonderful plantings outdoors, the pleasant patio, high ceilings and great sunlight, plenty of space for our group of seven to hang out together and cook together, nice bedrooms and a good feel to the place. Nearby there is a wonderful neighborhood grocery and meat and seafood store. And, a serious and welcoming coffee shop. Many small neighborhood restaurants have great ratings. The area is walkable and driving and ubering were easy. Our only frustrations are cheaply fixable: there were no hot pads and few dish towels, no gas for the rusty grill, few decent knives, 1980's hairdryer, very few hand towels for the bathroom, no soap in the showers and a coffee maker with a lid that falls off every time you open it to make coffee. We are a serious food group who loves to buy the wonderful food, breads, wines and cook two meals a day at home. I would definitely rent again if I were reassured that the small but maddening details were addressed. Overall, it is a great home in a good location.

Owner's Response: Hi Mary, Glad you enjoyed your stay & sorry that some details missing made your stay less than perfect, I apologize. From your feedback, I purchased a new coffee maker, knives& additional hand & dish towels. I always try & keep those items updated including the soap. Appreciate the feedback, I'm sure you will love the new coffee maker etc.. on your next visit! All the best, George Nicoud

This house was GREAT!

  • 5 of 5

This is a great older - but well updated - house in the Cow Hollow district of San Francisco. Very convenient to The Presidio and Golden Gate Park - we drove to both. Many Uber drivers in the area - our longest wait was 3-4 minutes. The house was very comfortable, the garden area was great for breakfast or afternoon gatherings. We were three senior couples traveling without children, but the house would work fine for a family or two traveling together. George met us at check in and went over everything. He was great in greeting us at that time as well as in advance to answer questions before we arrived. Just be aware that there is only one 24 hour parking place in front of the house although others are available for shorter periods. There is a public parking garage a couple of blocks away as well. Also, all the bedrooms are up a flight of stairs so not readily handicap accessible, but the property was not represented as such. Summarizing, this is a very comfortable place to stay with good public access to the rest of the city. I heartily recommend it.

Fantastic house in a great location

  • 5 of 5

The property was well set to where we wanted to get about and see the city. It was a perfect San Fransisco period house dating back to 1875 - just what we wanted to experience.

Spent four nights at this wonderful home!!! If I could rate it at a 10, I would give it even more...15+!! We had relatives visiting us from England and took a 'road trip' from San Diego to San Francisco where my son and daughter-in-law live. For a family reunion, it was the perfect place for our gathering. It sleeps 8 people comfortably with four roomy bedrooms, two full baths along with a ½ bath on the first floor. I love the old homes in San Francisco and if you are looking for this type of ambiance, this is what I imaged it would be (built in 1900). I was thrilled to ‘live’ here for the days we were there. The house was our ‘go-to’ place to meet along with a family dinner and happy hours. If you are going for any type of group gathering to San Francisco, this is the place to stay. The home is conveniently located in Pacific Heights with easy walking distance to all the local restaurants, shops, convenient stores, Chrissy Field, and the Marina area, or a short taxi or Uber drive to downtown San Francisco or Presidio. The house was very clean with all your necessities (linens, all kitchen utilities, etc.) provided. Our gracious host, George, was so accommodating to make sure our stay was perfect. He was always available for our needs and has all the information/directions you need for your stay. I just felt like I was at home. I visit San Francisco often and found this to be the 'BEST' place ever. THANK YOU again George for your beautiful home.

Warm regards,

Paula Best

Good location- great house

  • 5 of 5

San Francisco is one of the great walking cities. This house puts you smack in the middle of it but when you want to retreat it is an oasis unto itself. The living room is great for a get together, the dining room is wonderful to entertain and the backyard is a perfect hideaway.

The time flew by and we will definitely stay at George's beautiful home again
