About Harriet Landrieu
My family has been living in this neighborhood for over 70 years. I grew up around the corner from this house and am now back in my family home. My husband, son and I loved living in the house and after moving out decided to do short-term renting. Thus far, it is working out great and everyone that stays absolutely loves the house and the neighborhood. Hope you will too!!
What makes this House unique
The house has hardwood floors throughout and high ceilings. We renovated the house in 1999 from an old 1890's shotgun to a camelback - which is an upstairs addition on half of the house with two bedrooms and a bath. It is in a great location of uptown New Orleans, located on a dead-end to Audubon Park. Very quiet, family oriented neighborhood. Great for people who enjoy the outdoors, as you can wake up and take a leisurely walk around the park and then in the evenings take a walk up to the river and catch a beautiful sunset.

Fantastic house, fantastic neighborhood!!
This house had everything we could have wanted or needed for a family vacation, and is located on a quiet dead-end street just a 2-minute walk from Audubon Park and a short walk to Magazine Street shops and food. Our host met us to show us around and made us feel welcome, and we loved the wide open kitchen/living area/outdoor patio where we could all be together. I can't wait to come back!
Quaint, charming home away from home
We had a great experience during our stay in New Orleans at this property. The home suited our needs for our family of 4 adults and 2 young children, ages 3 years and 1 year. Harriet was very accommodating and maintained great communication throughout the whole process. She provided us with a pack-n-play and a booster seat for our 1-year old. This home was our home-away-from-home and was perfect for entertaining our kids. We walked to the zoo and Audubon park. We also took daily walks on Exposition Drive, which is a shaded sidewalk with views of beautiful homes, overlooking Audubon Park.
The only downside to the home was the heat in the two bedrooms and bathroom upstairs, but there are ceiling fans and upright fans in each room to combat the heat.
I would definitely stay here again!
Great house in great neighborhood!
This house is just off Magazine and right at Audubon Park, and very close to Tulane and Loyola. It’s really close to Wholefoods so once you get settled, you can enjoy NOLA. The house is very clean and comfortable. And Harriet is very welcoming. I’d definitely stay there again.
If you are lucky enough to see this property open then reserve it!!!!
This home is an absolute gem. The location is ideal. You are within walking distance of Audubon Park, The Fly Tulane, Loyola, and Magazine Street. Even with these great attractions, you will find yourself wanting to spend time in this lovely, authentic New Orleans home (the back patio is fantastic). We have stayed here twice and will keep our fingers crossed that it is will be available for our next visut. A trip to New Orleans would not be quite as fabulous without a stay here.
The best location in New Orleans!
This property is great and the owner is absolutely easy to work with on all fronts.
First the location is a gem near Audubon park and part of a great neighborhood. From awesome restaurants (Clancy’s #1 in Nola) all walking distance - to great churches - parks - golf and zoo. The home is well laid out great for 2 couples and will accommodate families and up to 6 easily. All the furnishings and kitchen are updated. But the patio may make you consider never leaving!
The location is about 20-25 mins from French Quarter - but taxis Uber’s are quick and plentiful and a ride on the trolley makes a great ending to a meal down town.
I would choose this over any hotel room any time I can!
Like out of a movie...
This house is literally steps away from the scenic and tranquil Audubon Park. It's a classy home full of character that I am so glad I found for our vacation. It captures the feel of New Orleans in every corner! The owner rocks and you can tell she strives for perfection. I couldn't believe how well stocked and clean this place was. It's like they set you up with everything you need. This house is also located close to grocery stores, gas stations, bars, and pizza shops. Trust me there is no better option on Homeaway for New Orleans! Thank you Harriet.
This house is located in historic Uptown New Orleans, two blocks from Magazine Street, which is a long stretch of great restaurants, bars, and shopping. Within walking distance to Audubon Park and Zoo and about 10 blocks from St. Charles Avenue where you can catch a streetcar down to the French Quarter.
