I grew up in the Northeast and would visit my grandmother in NC often. I have always loved vacationing in the NC mountains.
David Dilday purchased this cabin in 2010
I bought this property because my girls and I loved the mountains of NC. There is so much to do and see and the people are great. This property has tons of peace and privacy but is within 20 minutes of down town Hendersonville and all the shopping, restaurants, and exploring you would ever want.
We love the cool mountain air, spring and fall colors, and having a place to get away from it all, yet be close enough to all the activities you could ever want. You get the best of both worlds. Relax in the hammocks on the veranda or kick back on the large porch. Hike down to the pond or stream and listen to the relaxing sounds of the water and birds.
My husband and I had a wonderful 5 year anniversary getaway here at the cabin. We loved taking our dogs for walks. We had a very scenic trip to Hendersonville when our GPS sent us left out of the driveway. The NC Aboretum was a beautiful visit and afterwards we enjoyed ice cream and window shopping in Hendersonville. The waterfalls were beautiful and we could have spent several days at the park, but mostly we enjoyed unwinding in this beautiful escape. The hammocks were our favorite reading spot and we loved having the windows open to enjoy the sounds of nature.
Very nice quiet cabin in close proximity to Asheville and the Blueridge Pkwy
This cabin was absolutely amazing!!! We loved all of the character and charm of this property. We had a short stay, but plan on coming back again in the future:) The Dildays have thought of everything! The kitchen was fully stocked, a paddle boat and 3 hammocks supplied along with tons of restaurant and tourist pamphlets. Our daughter also enjoyed the many movies and games supplied. Overall this was a very relaxing and welcoming mini vacation. Thank you so much Mr. and Mrs. Dilday!
This was perfect. It was rustic enough and off the beaten path enough...yet close to nearby parks and trails and had everything I needed in the cabin. The upstairs bedroom felt bigger than what you see in the photos and I wanted to watch football on Saturday and his dish network had EVERY channel. The cabin sits up real high on the property so you are far from neighbors...feels like you are on a mountain by yourself from the cabin porch. As recommended in David's description, be careful using GPS only
Upon arrival, I could feel my wife gasp as we pulled up to the cabin. I thought that maybe I made a mistake with the 'rustic' appearance. As we walked up the stairs and opened the front door...we realized we did not make a mistake! This was a great little cabin that was perfect for our family of 3. It had everything we needed and we enjoyed the property and cabin itself. It only took a few minutes for us to settle in and make ourselves at home. We visited Dupont State Park and also enjoyed apple picking at nearby SkyTop Orchards. Overall, we had a great experience! We will be back again!
The property and the home were beautiful, the hammocks and veranda were a great place to have quiet time in the morning or have the kiddos play, and the peaceful setting was great! Kitchen was well stocked, too!
secluded comfortable cozy cabin yet close to everything.we spent a relaxing week at the veranda and hated to leave.I would definitely recommend this cabin great location and my dog Loved to roam around the property. We Will be back soon .
