Everything that they said about this place is true, and much much more. The views are stunning from nearly every vantage. We had our wedding photography done there, and we could not have asked for a better day. The sneak peek photos are simply beautiful. We spent six nights there. Don & Kathy are very nice. They we're very accommodating to us, yet they were always respectful of our privacy as well. We are absolutely going to book another vacation there in the near future. We believe this place would be amazing even in winter weather conditions. The apartment has heated floors and a cozy fireplace to keep you warm while still being able to enjoy the views from the front room. The steam shower is also a great way to get the chill off after a chilly walk on the beach. We felt right at home there, and we even got a tad emotional upon departure. Thank you Don & Kathy for sharing your magical home with us.
We wanted to escape the Texas heat for the Thanksgiving holiday. I wanted to be by the water and my husband wanted to be close to a mountain. Dons treehouse apartment was perfect for the two of us! I got my ocean views, and he got to play in the snow on Mount Baker about an hours drive away. The Treehouse was super clean, well decorated with beautiful cherry wood details. Kitchen was great for cooking our own meals. The view from the rooftop deck was breathtaking! We would definitely tecommend it to friends and hope to come back to this property again soon. Thanks for hosting us!
This is our second time,we enjoyed it but did have an an unfortunate accident.
The butcher block table on wheels with side wings is hazardous. After making dinner,I went to lower the wing and it slammed down on my hand onto the metal hinges. My two main fingers were smashed and sliced.A trip to the ER was required, where I was stitched and splinted. The ER doctor recommended to go see a plastic surgeon specializing in hands asap. I have been out of work for a week now, have seen a plastic surgeon,I have permanent nerve damage to my fingertips.I am fumbling around one handed, cannot tie my shoes, put my hair in a ponytail, take a shower...the list goes on.Estimated recovery 6-8 weeks
Accidents do happen,I strongly suggest replacing the butcher block table..
I still like the treehouse and plan on returning again.
Beautiful view, incredible shower. Pack your own breakfast goodies and coffee.
If you are looking for a place to wind down and have beautiful views look no further. The room is very nice and comfortable! Great way to celebrate an anniversary. Pack wisely for food, it's easy to have a nice slow relaxing start to your day with coffee and some nice breakfast stuff you bring yourself. Our beagles and baby loved the place and Bellingham. I don't suggest bringing that many bundles of energy, but for us it wasn't an option. Either way out was a great stay. I plan to suggest to other friends and family going forward.
My husband and I were traveling through WA to see friends, family, and figure out if it was a place we'd like to live. Staying at Don's Treehouse certainly tipped the scales in WA's favor! Not only is the view, the vegetable garden, the path down to the bay (with amazing driftwood railings), and the sweet stretch of beach all so peaceful and inviting, but the attention to creating a home space is also done thoughtfully. The shower with the steam and skylight was one of our highlights. We enjoyed every minute of our stay at the Treehouse, and greatly appreciated Don's friendly welcome and gentle presence when we needed little things (like a coffee grinder). Whether you are sipping your coffee on the porch waiting for the fog to reveal the day or delighting in your wine as the sun casts brilliant shades of gold, purple, and pink along the horizon, you will find your soul can breathe. It was so nice to go into Bellingham for the day and then return home to this space away, surrounded by verdant, lush evergreens, and lifted to observe the expansive beauty of the bay.
The set up in the unit is nicely arranged. We enjoyed the steambath several days! Don the owner was friendly and had good information about the area. I found the bed a little stiff but then I am very picky about my bed.
