Wonderful spot for family to gather

  • 4 of 5

This is a comfortable home in an absolutely beautiful location. We used it as "command central" for our son's Escanaba wedding. Only our immediate family stayed -- but extended family spent much time with us as they could. There was plenty of seating for outdoor dining. The hammock was a BIG hit. The "kids" played yard games such as horseshoes & croquet. We loved the fire pit and the incredible star-gazing. Sue even included firewood! The kitchen is stocked pretty well. (As a veteran of many vacation rentals, I took my own good knives, and was glad for them.) The only drawback for us was that, although there are two bathrooms, there is only one shower, and that one is in the "master" bedroom. If we were hanging out on vacation it wouldn't have been a big issue. But for five of us trying to get ready for a wedding, it was a bit of a challenge.

We are already discussing when we might gather our family together in Escanaba again!

Owner's Response: Thanks so much for your input! You gave us a wonderful idea to consider an outdoor shower. They are very popular up here. Hope we can have it installed before your next visit!

Wonderful!

  • 5 of 5

We had our family reunion at Sue's beautiful home. We were a large group - we used every bed available! - and the house was large enough to give everyone space. The view is incredible. There was no beach at the property, but the kids went a couple miles down the road to Fox Park and that worked out just fine. Since the weather was perfect, we spent a lot of time outside with several places to gather - on the deck, in the gazebo, and of course at the fire pit. We even had a visit from an eagle, which seemed appropriate on the 4th of July weekend. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will return!

Excellent summer retreat for family group

  • 5 of 5

Lots of space indoors and out for multi family group. Allowed us to gather together and find our own spaces, making our stay together more enjoyable. Clean, well equipped. Definitely want to bring own spices and seasonings for cooking. Would return if we vacation in this area again.

Keith from Ft Wayne, In

Super Host and hostess . Richard and Suzanne dropped by the 1st morning to make sure we were taken care of properly upon arrival and asked if there was anything they could do for us. Could not have asked for better owners to work with. We were a 6 person family group of ATVers. Enjoyed the trail rides that were accessed directly from the property. Great to get up in the morning with a cup of coffee in hand and sit on the deck watching the sun come up and eagles flying off the shoreline. We liked the isolation it afforded being the last house on the lane. We had a great time. Our group normally travels to a different area in Michigan each year to ride but if we decide to hit the western U.P. again we'll definitely consider this property as a place to stay. Thank you Richard and Suzanne for a most enjoyable visit, Keith S. from Ft Wayne, In
