Casa de Calidez (House of Warmth) so named for its warm Spanish decor and constant stream of warm sunlight.
Located in the coveted Hermosa Hills section of Hermosa Beach our end unit is one of only 6 very quiet homes, located furthest from the street, adjacent to a sun-filled private garden.
The master bedroom has sliding glass doors that open to the cool ocean breezes and onto the upper deck where you can view the beautiful sunsets Hermosa Beach is famous for. The custom master bathroom adjoins the master bedroom and includes a relaxing steam room, where you can unwind after a long day of play or combine a steam with our highly recommended massage therapist and create your own spa evening at home.
The second bedroom can be used as an office, private TV room or our comfortable ingenious chairs can convert to 2 single or 1 queen size bed.
Our living room is warm and comfortable, includes a gas fireplace and sliding glass doors leading to a west facing, sun-baked deck that includes a corner dining area and outdoor speakers that connect to satellite or your personal MP3 player.
The new custom kitchen includes high end appliances, custom bar so the cook is never alone, and a 42' flat-screen TV with sound-surround that can be angled to suit your needs.
A 10-15 minute walk away is The Strand, our 22 mile long path where you can enjoy an easy stroll, skate, rollerblade or bike ride. But if increasing your heart rate is more your style, then surf on the pristine coastline of Southern California, jog along the water, play a game of volleyball on the best beach courts in the nation, it's all just minutes away.
We have been told our home has everything needed to induce relaxation, comfort and of course fun. If that is what you desire, we would love to share it with you.
THIS IS A NON SMOKING HOUSE/PROPERTY
IT IS A VERY QUIET COMPLEX AND NOT SUITABLE FOR PARTYING - THANK YOU FOR YOUR UNDERSTANDING
We are Canadians now living in the warmth of the California sun and it goes without saying that California has 'warmed' not only our bodies but our souls as well. We chose this amazing location in Hermosa Beach because of the surf, sun and sand and when it is not being rented, we spend time doing exactly what our guests do, relaxing, surfing, cruising the beach and sauntering downtown to enjoy the many amenities Hermosa Beach has to offer.
So come visit our beach retreat and sooth your soul Casa Calidez style.

My Wife, daughter, and I were in town for a wedding in Long Beach. After a 6 hour flight, we felt right at home as soon as we walked in to the condo. The first floor was very spacious with a comfortable wrap around couch in front of the TV and fireplace. The connected kitchen was modern, and clean with a huge refrigerator. Robert and Louise were nice enough to have a several bottles of champagne waiting for us which we enjoyed. Upstairs the two bedrooms were nice and spacious, but the main star was the bathroom. The steam shower was the most spacious shower I have ever seen. The steam works great, and it was a perfect way to relax after a day at the beach!
The location was a short walk to the strand and the Hermosa Beach pier. There were multiple places to eat, rent bikes, and shop in the area and we hardly had to leave Hermosa for anything. Louise was responsive for any questions or concerns that we had, and our security deposit was returned the day we left. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to anyone considering staying in this area!
This was an almost perfect place for us to spend the Christmas holidays with family and friends. Seven days was not long enough to truly enjoy this townhouse and the surrounding amenities, but we tried. Close to Pacific, LAX, and all the coastal communities, a typical LA drive to everywhere else [Downtown-LA Live / Hollywood / Beverly Hills / Santa Monica / The Valley]. We watch the sunset over the Pacific while BBQing on the balcony, and there was a variety of stores and restaurants within walking or biking [cruiser bikes were provided which were challenging on the inclines] distance. Seven-Eleven, Vons Market and Big Lots was a saving grace for food, wine, and a Charlie Brown Christmas tree that was on sale for cheap [had to have a tree for the kids]. Family and friends were 10-15 minutes away from us. They were impressed with our accommodations [they said we could not have found a hotel with a homey feel for the same price]. The furnishing of the townhouse was on point and to our taste of living. The small, yet cute Gourmet Kitchen was to die for, and the baths were equally cute and comfortable [I want the frig and stove]. Two car garage was more than large enough for our rented SUV. Because of the unexpected cold-front that passed thru LA, heating the townhouse became a small challenge [hot upstairs and cold downstairs], but we adjusted. We went to the pier for some Killer Shrimp before catching the redeye flight home. We would definitely stay here again and again. The Unit Owners were very accommodating. We Highly Recommend This Place.
We frequently visit the area to see family, and have tried many VRBO homes before contacting Robert & Louise and trying theirs. It is by far the nicest, besides being within walking distance of our kids house — and walking distance to the beach, but away from the noise and hubbub there. The condo is quiet and comfortable, with a great mattress on the king bed (request a blanket in advance, if you don't like sleeping under a down comforter). The steam bath and 2-person shower is lovely, a real treat. We didn't really cook in the house, but the kitchen is one of the better-appointed I've seen in a rental. The gas fireplace in the living room makes things quite cosy and the decor of the home is very thoughtfully put together.
There is a second bedroom which we didn't need, and a half-bath downstairs. There are also bikes and other exercise goodies in the garage, which we never took advantage of.
The owners are very responsive and friendly. I'd recommend this place to anyone and will certainly go back next visit.
We spent three nights at this lovely town home in Hermosa Beach. The owners were professional and courteous. The home was clean and well equipped. We particularly enjoyed the balcony where we had coffee in the mornings after walking to Starbucks. We'd stay here again!
After hosting our grand-daughters for Elite and Jr Olympic volleyball tournaments on Hermosa Beach last year in a Residence Inn, we decided this year to do better...and we did. For about the same price as those weekly rental inns, we enjoyed all the comforts of home. Casa Calidez has it all from playing cards, coolers, beach equipment including a boogy board, and bicycles. All in good condition and thoroughly enjoyed. In the mornings, we kept up with the Tour de France on the satellite HD TV. Our damage deposit was promptly refunded. We cannot imagine a better stay. Highly recommend.
We traveled from Australia, and have never spent much time in LA, but this is a great location. The apartment is so well appointed, and it created such a relaxing vibe, it made our three week stay so brilliant. We particularly loved the brilliant shower / sauna upstairs, which even allowed the sea breeze to come in, and the kitchen made cooking a breeze. Also well located, with grocery stores at end of the street, and supermarket nearby. Also great access to Hermose Beach and village, and for getting to LA sites further away easy to get around with access to the interstate close-by!! Bob and Louise are great hosts and easy to deal with, and leave some great local info to make you feel like you have been there for years.
Our condo is located in the coveted Hermosa Hills area where you are within walking distance to restaurants, live music, shopping, our big beautiful beach, and of course The Strand where you can cruise on beach bikes, rollerblade, run, or take a stroll to breakfast/lunch or dinner.
